I have have eaten at countless breakfast places in Tucson but none like toast 101. The service is HORRIBLE, food is mediocre, and over experience is 0000/10. After a ridiculous wait time, we finally got seated at a "booth" that barely reached the table. We were unable to move the table because it is bolted to the floor. Call me dramatic, but we were sitting on the edge of the chairs so we could reach and it was VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. When we asked to be moved because you CANNOT eat like that, they did moved us but were very unhappy to do so. As someone who has worked in the food industry, I understand how annoying it is to ask to be moved but seriously you can't eat like that. Additionally, they failed to mention that half of the items on on the menu weren't available. Overall, we waited FOREVER to get food that we honestly didn't even want (but it was our only choice) & the people next to us waited almost an hour for their food. The bathroom is dirty and absolutely 0 of the staff knows how to work under pressure. I genuinely don't see this restaurant staying afloat. Save your time, money, & self respect & DONT GO. read more

Tried the restaurant for the first time today... This is going to be a so-so review. Wait staff is young and with a little more time should get better. Things came at odd times and took a little long but that could be the kitchen also. Hubby had corned beef hash which he liked. I had half order biscuits and gravy. The sausage patty was in between the biscuits not in the gravy, also ordered tots instead of potatoes. Tots were good and crispy but unfortunately the biscuits were undercooked and the gravy had too much cornstarch and was cold. Dill pickle bloody Mary was very dill pickley. My dirty Shirley Temple didn't have much taste had to ask for more orange juice. Hopefully with time the restaurant will get better we do like breakfast places :) read more

Heard that there was a new brunch spot in town so I decided to drop by on a Friday and try it out. The wait to get in was a 30min wait (got here at about 11:45am) When my party and I were finally seated, we had to do a little more waiting (15 minutes) for our waitress to get to us and give us our water. When we finally decided what we wanted, we had to play the waiting game once more because our waitress didn't come by to check up on us. We had to wave down another waiter for that waiter to tell our waiter we were ready to order. I ended up ordering 'The Hangover' while my friend got the S'mores toast and two iced coffees. After another long wait we finally get our iced coffees. And to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I have never had such terrible iced coffee. I didn't even think that one could mess up ice coffee so bad. The best way I could describe the iced coffee was dirty water mixed with coffee. I should have known from the ice coffee to keep my expectations of the food low. When the food finally came (25min) after the coffee had arrived, the hangover plate was a bit bland. I was expecting the dish to be spicy since it had the fire sign right next to the dish, but it really wasn't. Unless you consider something like tapatio/sirarcha, you'll probably be disappointed if you order this expecting a spicy plate. Everything about this place, from the service to the food was such a disappointment. If you want good food/service there are sooo many other options in the Tucson area. Treat yourself better by not coming here. read more

Tried to eat there but when we arrived they said they were closing 2 hours early and wouldn't seat us. They're also closed Tuesday's but the only place it's posted is a small sign on the door. I doubt they'll be open much longer if they're already too slow to be open their regular hours. read more

Toast is 100% the new breakfast spot. They have tons of crazy French toast options, skillets, waffles, and even a flight of donuts! Which were probably the best thing we ate. They're also incredibly reasonably priced and their staff is kind and attentive. Social distancing is enforced as well as masks and sanitizing. 100% would recommend. read more

Was able to get seated right away (party of 3) but then took 45 minutes for the food to come out. Wasn't busy during the time. And when it did come out the gravy for the biscuits and gravy was cold and they had the wrong bread for 2 of the meals. Unfortunately had a bad experience with one of the wait staff today. A few female friends (including one child) and I went in today and the service while we were eating was subpar. The waiter was rude, condescending and never came to check on our table or provide refills. It also took forever to get our food. (As we watched multiple plates of food piling up at the kitchen window). So as we were paying, our tips indicated we were not happy with the service and overall how we were treated. Our server proceeded to FOLLOW us out of the restaurant and berate us. He started by asking if we had been happy with the service and we explained that we were not and why we felt that way. He started to get overly upset and started yelling at us to not come back and that he would have to pay for our food (but we all paid for our meals). We all felt threatened because he would not stop and kept yelling until we told him we wanted to speak to his manager. The manager was nice and did her best to smooth over the situation and we were all refunded. But they have lost our business permanently. read more

Went to Toast 101 on Saturday at 8:15am with my daughter for breakfast. We were seated immediately and the staff were all in face masks and they were practicing social distancing. Breakfast was outstanding. I had the Eggs Benedict and the Hollandaise Sauce was perfect. My daughter ordered the S'mores French Toast which had wonderful eye appeal and tasted even better. Saulo was our server and he was attentive and friendly. This restaurant just made my regular breakfast rotation. Decor is modern and clean. Excellent job! read more

This was very good. The staff was friendly and attentive. The portion sizes with quite large, and the food was very good. We had the banana pudding French toast, and it was excellent. Not overly sweet. We also had the pumpkin cheesecake French toast, again very good and not too sweet. The breakfast tots were excellent. Cute restaurant, good atmosphere. I'm with most people reviewing this place. I wanted to like it but unfortunately I don't think we will be back. Started off the bat with a rude front person who seats people. Walked away and we were taken care of by another server. We were told 25 minute wait. Another couple walked up like 10 minutes later walked in a proceeded to get seated. Told my husband to go in a check why we didn't get a table. We were seated right after that. The coffee in this place is by far the grosses thing ever which is surprising because they advertise using yellow brick coffee. Needed lots of cream and sugar to make it drinkable. I ordered loaded breakfast tots and a bubble waffle. Hubby ordered the 101 crunch French toast. Loaded tots were really good with chicken carnitas, peppers, pico de Gallo and sour cream. Hubby seemed to enjoy the French toast but commented that he didn't get any butter for the French toast. My bubble waffle was cold and was not like other bubble waffles I've previously enjoyed. It lacked fluffiness and flavor. The only redeeming quality about this visit was our server Patrick. He was funny, courteous and attentive. read more

I don't usually do reviews unless it's really bad or an amazing experience. This unfortunately was the prior. I would not recommend this place to anyone based on several reasons. The service was horrible, the place is unsanitary & food is mediocre. At first it was all very bubbly and hip but as soon as we were sat, we noticed all the flies around us. I didn't think much at first but then I turned around and saw the most disgusting thing I've seen in a restaurant. The windows behind our table were swarming with flies (see photos). Our server messed up so many times it became comical and the food runner gave us attitude about bringing the wrong item and just said, "So is it gonna be cool or....?" with a smirk on his face. Not to mention we waited 45 minutes for our food after ordering and the place was not THAT busy. Everyone's food came out either cold or lukewarm, half the plates were sent back. I kid you not, the server couldn't even charge us right. He was still charging the wrong/sent back items and would mix up tickets.. he came back 5 times with corrected receipts. Wanted to try a new local restaurant so my husband and I chose this new brunch place. We were told there was a 30-45 mins wait which was okay with us, but after that initial time, we were told there was another 15-20mins hold as the kitchen was really backed up in addition to a 30-45 mins wait time for food. We were already hungry so we left to a nearby in n out. Want to give this place a chance, but not if we have to wait 2+ hours. Wait for them to figure it out. Come back in a few months. read more

I eat out daily. breakfast and dinner. Both of our meals came out wrong, my drink was incorrect, and the staff was more concerned about talking with each other verses serving. Went to TOAST for the first time yesterday, was not very busy 12:30 pm Saturday plenty of empty tables. We waited 30 mins at the table (like 4 different servers walked by) NO water/utensils/napkins NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT period! Got up and walked out! Went here for breakfast at 11 was quoted 30-45 minutes to be seated. We were still outside 2 hours later. We witnessed the hostess ask multiple waiters if they could take our party of 7 and all of them declined. When they finally seated us we were seated at a table that had been open the entire time we were waiting. After being seated we sat for over 30 minutes and no one had even brought silverware or greeted us or gotten a drink order. We got up and walked out and no one said a thing. Let me preface by saying this: I've been twice before and it was great. Long wait which is to be expected for a busy brunch placed. So I planned a birthday brunch here, called a week prior to see if they accepted reservations, they said no, so we opted to come in early to get our names on the list. The wait was an hour and a half. The host was great, professional and kept me up to date. Once we got seated however, we were told all our ticket times would be delayed due to a 20 top reservation. I thought you didn't take reservations? Sure enough, the 20 top party strolled in without having to wait more than a few minutes. Again, host was great, appreciated the update but was confused by the policy. Our server was sub par, continued going on rants and made us feel like we were an inconvenience by being there when they had another large party. During my last visit, I debated heavily between the buttered toast and the peanut butter toast. Surprising even myself, I actually went for the cheesy toast in the end. Any true toast connoisseur knows that Toast 101 has it in the bag when it comes to their wide variety of toasts.
