Friendly service. Drinks were excellent. Food was extremely tasty. All the meats were tender and juicy.

Everything about this restaurant reminds me of a good high end Mexican restaurant in San Diego, where there's Mexican food everywhere so you have to be good to stand out. This one does! It was all house made, salsas were on point and I loved the tacos. Even our 2 & 6 yr old kids enjoyed it! Beautiful inside and great service on top of it all. read more

Best margaritas in town, love the food, and the ambiance. Definitely going back soon, this time for brunch. read more

Service was a little slow but I'll cut them slack as it was very busy. This place is nice and very good food. A little more "upscale" than other mex restaurants and will do well I think in the new downtown district of Plainfield. 2 issues. I loved the window treatments in the front but def need them on the side too by the bar so we don't have to stare at the neighbors garbage cans....def could use faster service. Our waitress was nice but it was too busy for just her! We will try again in a couple months. But for delicious Mexican food and drinks def try this! read more

This was our first experience with Tlahcos and we cannot say enough good things. The food was upscale Mexican fusion. Service was excellent and friendly. The ambiance was somewhat "warehouse/grill, but the food surpasses any negatives about the decor. This venue won't disappoint. read more

Where is the sixth star‽ Best damn Mexican food I've ever eaten! Great environment , great service!

Visited on opening night. Not the usual kinks you find with new establishments. They were very organized and prepared. Everyone was super friendly. The food was superb. My salmon came out in a hot stone and it was cooked perfectly. The Brussels sprouts and potatoes were hot and delicious. My friend got the Flor De Pina and the presentation was great served inside a grilled pineapple. The sangria was great and they cheesecake with guava sauce was the perfect ending. read more

We went to Tlahcos for the first time last week after my daughter recommended it to us. It was right next-door to a parking garage, which made it a very easy walk. When we walked in the door, the staff was very friendly and sat us at a nice table . The drink menu was very nice and it wasn't full of the huge margaritas that you get at most Mexican restaurants which we really liked. You can get a nice margarita but there is also a huge selection of other nice cocktails too. Our server was very friendly and eager to help us and explain the menu. I ordered the chicken mole. It was served with potatoes and carrots. It was delicious and large enough to take half of it home for lunch the next day. We mentioned it was our son's birthday and when we finished our meal, they came out with a nice birthday surprise !!! We are really looking forward to going back. read more

So I have good all week with my food options but we really wanted to try this place out. We had the salsa trio, all were very bland, their actual regular salsa was way better than the trio. Hubby and I split papantla and there was more than enough for two! It was very good but if you're watching your sodium intake you may want to try something else..it had a lot of salt on the meat. The staff was amazing and the atmosphere was very relaxing! read more

Honestly, the is the best mexican restaurant i have ever been to. We just celebrated my stepmom's birthday here, as it is her favorite restaurant. The food was all so good and seasoned well, not a single thing was bland. The guacamole is a must try appetizer. Everything is so authentic, it's amazing. My boyfriend got the Molcajete, and there is nothing small about that meal! He said it was delicious and that he will be ordering that every time we go there. Our waitress was the best, she made sure we were well taken care of. This restaurant is a little more upscale than your typical hometown mexican restaurant, but nothing extremely fancy. It is the perfect place for any occasion. It gets an 11/10 from me. read more

The food was amazing. I got the pineapple dish it was so good. Vibes of the restaurant was great. It was an awesome place to just sit and catch up with friends. Waiter was super nice and helpful service was not super quick though. read more

Ok I see you plainfield. This was a cute new Mexican spot. Lots of innovative dishes to choose from. They have ceviche, tacos, grill items and chef specials. They also have a variety of salsas to choose from. It was quite loud in here. I immediately noticed this when I walked in the double doors and could hear how loud it was. I was confused because I'm thinking how can I hear ppl already and I'm not even inside yet. I thought it was playing on a speaker and I thought that was weird. But no it's because it's open above the doors into the restaurant. The check in desk is to your left. We (the hostess and i) could barely hear each other. I really liked the trio salsas because they were medium to spicy in heat. I love spicy food. I didn't like the horchata, it was too cinnamon fwd to me. It kinda had an after taste as well. I didn't drink it and the waitress said she would discount it but didn't in the end. My food the papatla, was really good. It had some spice to it. I thought it was a good portion size. Slightly smaller than regular Mexican spots but still filling. The pineapple dish came with the smallest pineapple I had ever seen but the grill flavor was tasty. Service was ok to good. It was very busy in there for sat night at 730pm. You could hear the occasional bday celebrations as well. They have a private dining area also. It's kind of a drive so unless I'm in the area I probably wouldn't go back but def great addition to the far west side read more

Landed in Indy for a week of work a month or so ago and decided to check Tlahcos out after seeing great reviews. A month later and I'm back again. Top notch Mexican cuisine here. On this second visit just so happen to meet the owner Mario and he's super down to earth. He offered a few of us a shot of their top shelf tequila along with a lesson on the proper way to drink it. Our server, Frankie B was badass as well. I highly recommend this spot to anyone that stops in the Plainfield, Indiana area!!!! Tlahcos for the WIN!!! read more

Food was bland. Service was slow. The salsa tastes like tomato purée. Guacamole needed cilantro, jalapeño, and onion. Bland. The margarita was weak. The music was too loud for my hearing impaired father. He could never hear me here, even with his hearing aids. read more

Great place! Great food! The only thing is I'd rather have a plate to eat off of rather than a wooden charcuterie board.

Eh , I was expecting more . The prices would reflect a more fine dining experience but it was anything but . Overall the rating was earned .

Step up on price, service, and food from your average Midwestern Mexican joint. Food was worth the price. Everything was delicious. Service felt professional but welcoming. I had a man with a mustache as our server and he was great. The ambiance was very pretty and welcoming for a Hispanic culture. Highly recommend for dinner, lunch, or even just a drink. read more

We had dinner at Tlahcos last night. Outstanding! This is our third time eating at Tlahcos. The second time was less than outstanding, but last night made up for it! The atmosphere, drinks, and food could not have been better! You need to make going to Tlahcos a priority! read more

Just got home after my first dining experience here. WOW! It was way more than I expected! Ambience was like a downtown or Broad Ripple location, very nice decor. Food was presented in a lovely manner. I had the Chef Fernando Ribeye and I'd highly recommend! The huge steak was served over a fire roasted tomato sauce that was so delicious. There was also a generous side of roasted carrots and potatoes. I am now a member of their clean plate club! Frank was perfectly attentive to our all female group. Overall, I can't wait to go back! read more

Service and ambiance were great. The food was really good. A little higher priced compared to other Mexican restaurants but with location and ambiance makes sense. Plates are prepared a bit more elegant than traditional Mexican restaurants. I recommend. read more

As described, it is an "upscale" Mexican restaurant, with more of a posh ambiance compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area that feel more casual and welcoming. The servers were attentive in taking our order, keeping us supplied with chips and drinks, etc. The drink menu was again different than other local restaurants, offering only a couple small margarita options and Mexican beers along with more typical restaurant drink and wine options. The food was delicious and plentiful. It took a while to flag down someone to get our check at the end, resulting in a rushed payment. Unfortunately, it was only looking at my copy of the bill later that I saw that a 20% gratuity for a "large party" had been included, which was surprising as we were only 5 people. Presumably any party over 4 is large? Something to watch for to avoid overtipping. Overall good food but definitely upscale in cost and atmosphere. read more

I tried this restaurant for the first time tonight. First, our waiter, Luis, was to notch! I can't say enough about him. He's an asset, for sure! The atmosphere was very pleasing, clean, to us it felt Caribbean like. I ordered the Alambre (hopefully I spelled correctly). The flavor was so good. The presentation was even perfect as well. This place was not a typical Mexican restaurant. This was classy and so good! read more

First time coming and I will be back!! Stephanie our server was FANTASTIC. She made sure my dietary restrictions were met which I really appreciated the kitchen's attention to detail as well (dairy allergy girly over here). Enjoyed my shrimp dinner and the hibiscus drink (cannot remember the names!). If you are looking for an elevated Mexican dining experience in Hendricks county- this place is a must! read more

The whole experience was amazing! We dined outside and ordered a few different things to try on the menu! Authentic and delicious!

Have eaten there twice. Both times the service and food were exceptional! If you want upscale AUTHENTIC Mexican food, not the cheap stuff, this is where you should go! This is the only Mexican restaurant i enjoy ! read more

What a beautiful dinning room. The wood table and chairs come from a tree in Mexico. The servers are very knowledgeable. The food is the best I've ever gmhad and I've been all over the country. The Zopapon was amazing with shrimp, chicken, and streak, with a mango habenero sauce that was perfect, not too hot, just packed with flavor. The Flora de Pina was just as good , served in a pineapple with chicken , shrimp, bacon, coveted in cheese. I don't drink alcohol so my waitress recommended horchata, and hibiscus water. Omg! It was amazing, do delicious and such a unique taste. It is my new favorite restaurant!! 5 stars read more

Lunched at Tlahcos having the Arroz con Pollo and Enchiladas Mexicano from the lunch menu, both of which were very good. Complimentary chips/salsa and 3 sauce samples were delicious. Plainfield has made an excellent choice by opening this prime space to Tlahcos Mexican Cuisine. The space is elegantly decorated for an upscale Mexican restaurant. The food is the most authentic Mexican cuisine that I've tasted since I was last in Mexico City. Our server, Estefany, who is also their bartender, not only made us the best top shelf margaritas, but was a friendly, knowledgeable, and vivacious server. We WILL be back. read more

Stopped in n for late lunch. Guacamole as an appetizer it was excellent. Luis was assigned to our table and was very polite and informative about the different selections on the menu. Mediocre food, worse service. The food was sub-par and the margarita tasted like bad mix with no alcohol. My wife ordered food to go and when we got home found out that they had messed up the order. When she called them to tell them, the manager mocked her and basically said she could eat it or not?!! Head a few blocks up to Iguanas...a lot cheaper, way better, and definitely nicer folks. Skip this pretentious little spot. read more

Overpriced average food. Have had much better off of a food truck. Not sure if I would like to go back or not.

Modern new restaurant with attentive service. We tried the Birrea tacos and a side of pinto beans, a wonderful homemade chicken tortilla soup with picked onions fresh cilantro and melted cheese and a house entree Flor - De - Pina a fajitas type dish served in a half pineapple shell. Even the black beans and rice on the side were excellent. Price for quality is reasonable. Next time we'll try drinks and dessert which looked great being served to other tables. read more
