This pub is amazing, it's is under the Inn. Clearly is spot for all families, travelers, bikers, and date night. The food is well prepared and the presentation is on point. During the holidays it's very well packed so check with the staff to see if they close early on said holiday. The close at 6pm on the forth. 12 beers on tap with is nice no need to be overwhelmed to much of a variety. Healthy options vegan and gluten friendly diets. read more

WOW. On vacation exploring up north . First stop Manistee. Lunch at TJ's. Awesome. My husband had the pork tamales, they were excellent. Not a taste for me. I had the pork nachos. Goodies all way down to the bottom. Amazing! Kim was a great server. Sorry it is not close to home. read more

The atmosphere is nice and the servers are very pleasant. They charge prices that make you think it's going to be delicious but the serving sizes are small and the food is just average. read more

Ambience is lacking, but service was friendly and excellent, and the food was good. Shared the Buffalo Rangoons and the Germania sandwich with my partner. Portions are generous and the drink menu is varied. Specials were listed clearly and seasonally appealing. Would recommend! read more

We ordered pizzas to go. They made us wait for a very very long time and then, when she said the order was ready, we took it home just 2 miles away, the pizzas were totally cold. Obviously the order had been sitting in the counter and the waitress did not bothered to let us know, even though I was sitting there waiting all this time, for about an hour. Their reputation apparently is way way over rated. Will never go there ever again. Also, the large pizza were so small not even enough for one person. Sad. read more

Had lunch there this week. Looks like most of the restaurants in the Manistee are having trouble with staffing. Service was reflective of that. Food was fine, nothing exciting and no burgers. The restaurant was a little bit run down. the bathrooms were clean, but the door to the single-use bathroom opens right into the restaurant which is a little bizarre. read more

Anyone complaining about a wait or the customer service in this place are clearly just high maintenance and miserable Karens' in general. They clearly have a sign as you walk in explaining that they are seeking workers and to please be patient. Came in here in Aug 2020 and came back again this summer. The food quality is absolutely fantastic. My family and I went out here for lunch, and yes, we had to wait around 20 minutes for a table but guess what, every business is struggling to hire employees due to the 'free government handouts'. Good job to the people getting up off their a**** and actually working. Had the BLT and an Oberon. One of the tastiest and freshest sandwiches I've had. We've returned multiple times for the tamales, the tomato/turkey/pesto sandwich (the "Tuscana"), and the BLT. The Michigan-made potato chips, seasoned with a special blend of spices, are also addictive. The place can get a bit loud during prime times, and the 4-top table in the back, near the bathroom door, isn't the most optimal. Otherwise, this is one of the best spots for casual and reasonably priced meals in downtown Manistee. read more

I was torn between a 4 and 5, but let me break this down for you. Stoli dirty martini with homemade blue cheese stuffed olives was $5.50! Compared to Blue Fish where it is $10! Food good, service good, but space a little limited. I had the beef, potato, and carrot bowl which was very good and filling.

The location is convenient, and the ambiance is nice, if a little loud for my taste. The clientele seems to skew towards baby boomers. Service is prompt and friendly; we had no trouble getting drinks refilled. The tap list (12 options) is solid, and features a lot of regional favorites. Prices are quite reasonable; $10-12 for most entrees. The food is underwhelming. The whitefish dip was heavy on the cream cheese and light on the fish, and served with what appeared to be store-bought crackers. The quesadilla had very little cheese (but lots of meat). The "Asian Noodle Bowl" (I should have been leery when they lumped half of the world's cuisines into one adjective) featured vegetables that had been cooked almost to mush, and noodles that were still a minute or two shy of being al dente. The broth was simple, but nicely flavored. Vegetarians will find themselves with few options unless they ask for the meat to be left out of existing dishes. I've had the pizza there before, and it was better than the noodle bowl. I'll go again (there aren't a lot of options in Manistee), and I'll stick with the pizza. read more

We had excellent service and the food was delicious. It is on the smaller size, but it was a fun pub atmosphere. The menu has a wide variety to find just what you want to eat. The portions were not huge either. The bar has a big selection of wines and beers, with plenty of mixed drinks as well. Great food and awesome service, not super pricey either. My only issue is how small it is, you really rub elbows with the people next to you when it gets a little busy. So much so that it kinda makes it hard to move around. But if you go around lunchtime it's normally not to busy. It has a very homey feel to it and comfortable atmosphere. read more

Not impressed. Food was nothing special, UNFRIENDLY atmosphere. Nothing was fresh, all from a freezer. This WAS the bar/restaurant for great food and atmosphere many years ago. We went on a Tuesday and had the appetizer trio; spinach dip, meatballs and mini pork tacos... everything was so yummy! The bartender, Vicki, was wonderful! Saw her making one of their signature drinks "The Amethyst" and asked what it was, she let me sample! SOO GOOD. Definitely recommend. Also went on a short smoke break and checked out the lobby of The Ramsdell (hotel attached to TJ's)... beautiful place! Hope to stay soon. The gal working at the desk of The Ramsdell even made a point to come down to TJ's and make sure our food was perfect. Great customer service, great food... absolutely 100% recommend! This pub occupies a nice new-looking space in the corner of a building. However, there is no tap beer - all bottles. The menu is limited and there are no entrees. The sandwiches were fine but nothing really special. Overall this place has a feel of just getting started. There is room for improvement and perhaps it will rise to the occasion. read more

Nice Gluten Free Accomadation! Our camping party arrived here frigid and tired one afternoon after deciding to walk into town from the campsite. It was a lovely atmosphere to settle into. Its sort of in a half-basement, pleasantly dark and cozy. The waiters were very kind and even brewed us a fresh pot of coffee. The fare is pretty standard pub-type food - sandwiches, burgers, etc. We got some lovely tamales as an appetizers, which was nice. I ordered a reuben without the bread, because I can't eat gluten. They were nice enough to put the corned beef and sauerkraut in a little ramekin and bake it off with the cheese on top, like a mini reuben casserole! That was quite above and beyond, and I really appreciated it. The price was reasonable, the beer selection was outstanding. The atmosphere is very friendly and amiable, lots of locals hanging out and enjoying themselves. They're aren't a whole lot of options in manistee to begin with, but this is probably the best combination of food, atmosphere, and price going. read more

TJs was ok. We found it wondering through downtown manistee and thought we would check it out. Service was really good. Food was pretty good, just not very much. Both of us left there feeling like we had just had a very light lunch. Which in all honesty is fine but not for the prices we paid. $8 for a wedge salad that is smaller than a side wedge salad at other places is a little much. read more

Just went here for lunch. First timer. Beef Gyro was fantastic, my boyfriend loved the Italian sandwich and my son loved his custom personal pizza. Must have been retro day, all the servers were dressed like they just did a Jane Fonda workout video and the music too. Good atmoshphere. Reasonable pricing. Our waitress was slow and a bit forgrtful. Had to wait forever for our check because the computer was down. Apparently nobody knew how to use basic math. But we would gladly go back. read more
