I went to Door County Fire for dinner last night. I started with the seafood chowder which was pretty good. I think I might pass on it in the future. For the main course, I ordered the browned butter Walleye. I've never eaten Walleye before, but I definitely will going forward. It was beyond delicious! Somewhat sweet. The browned butter glaze was amazing! You should do yourself a favor and try it! I chose mashed potatoes, which were real and delicious. It came with some gravy because, well, its potatoes. Gotta live some, lol. It also came with some bread that, if it wasn't homemade, I'd be very surprised. Lastly, there was some cole slaw, which, while I'm not a gan, I think most people would enjoy. Stopped in on a busy Thursday night for dinner and sat at the bar. Got drinks right away and ordered dinner. Food came out quickly and was delicious! My wife got the Pulled Pork, a nice mound of meat with a sweet sauce on tasty Sourdough bread. I got the Backdraft Burger, which was a great combination of flavors and just a little kick. The fries are nicely flavored and we got a good pile of them for a side. Service was great and the prices very reasonable. Cool vibe. Clean, and a variety of seating with lots of TVs. read more

What a fun place to see the patches of first responders from all over the country. Order the curds for an appetizer- they are good and this review coming from someone who doesn't eat much cheese! Great spot all around. Went here for dinner and they were able to seat us outside next to the door so we could still hear the live music right inside which was a huge plus. The waitress was so sweet and efficient. They allowed the dog to sit outside with us which was also nice. The appetizers of cheese curds, side salad, and wings were better than my entree which was a dip sandwich. The drinks were very reasonably priced and one of the best things about this place is its open late for Wisconsin, still wish places stayed open a little longer as we felt crunched for time read more

Ordered carryout BBQ chicken pizza tonight and while the description online sounded fantastic, unfortunately the actual product did not deliver. Once I arrived to pick up my pizza it was ready on time and the hostess was very friendly, so those things are definitely a positive, however there were not many toppings on the pizza/a very uneven distribution of toppings. Some slices had a good amount and some had literally nothing at all. I had to search for the red onions since they were diced so small and not many were on the pizza. My husband and I were both unfortunately disappointed and cannot recommend this particular menu item. Perhaps I just chose the wrong thing and they are more known for sandwiches, burgers, etc. **I was contacted very quickly with an apology and offer to right the situation from this business. My family is in town for the week and after our long drive we stopped here for dinner. The place is very casual and has a chill vibe. They have a decent size drink menu with a selection of draft beers with a lot of local places. My husband and I love local beer so we were happy to try some of those. For an appetizer we got the cheese curds. These were super good but you don't get a lot of them so plan to share between 2 people max. I got to eat the 1/2 walleye plate with chowder as a side and my husband got the walleye sandwich. The fish was very good and didn't have a lot of breading on it which I like! Quick friendly service on a slow Monday. I had the Local Fireman's sandwich YUM turkey, bacon, cheddar cheese and yummy bbq sauce on 7 grain bread. The house fries have good seasoning. My brother gave the chili high marks along with the chicken Cesar wrap. Has low seats as well as high seats, so more accessible. read more

It's currently not good. There's a handful of decent cooks in door county that move around between restaurants and currently this place doesn't have any of them - causing the food quality to be lackluster. Owner is also combative and passive-aggressive when given constructive criticism. read more

This is where the locals go for the beers and pretty good bar food. Bummer that the kitchen was only open until 8pm but we got an order of broasted chicken in time. Staff were friendly; the owner mingled and quaffed beers with the customers. The authentic- and trademarked - broasted chicken was very good. The pressure cooking gives a nice crisp but not too coating-heavy and not oily. Broasted is king in Wisconsin. Burgers and other pub grub were popular with the customers. Came here during our weekend getaway and being a firefighter, I had to try the place. We were greeted by a friendly face and saw only one server so we knew to be patient. It was a Packers game night and we sat in the back. We ordered a Bloody Mary, Moscow Mule, a couple Seafood Chowders, and the Fire Company Favorite pizza. That chowder was amazing on a chilly night! I read the reviews and decided this would be a destination on my trip to Sturgeon Bay over the 4th of July holiday. Mid afternoon on Saturday we entered the mostly empty restaurant. We were promptly seated. Many staff we're hanging out around the bar. Beer orders were taken and delivered. Food orders taken. Water has to be requested. Really! it was 90+ degrees outside -- just serve your customers water. We both ordered soup and entrees. Soup came out quickly. The soup of the day, tomato bisque, was excellent, served very hot (temperature wise) as I prefer and came with oyster crackers. I highly recommend it. My husbands seafood bisque had a nice fish flavor with a good amount of seafood. He really liked it and would order again. Main courses were slow to arrive. My assumption is due to the staff paying more attention to a coworkers baby than customers and the kitchen. My Mac and cheese arrived barely warm. It's the worst Mac and cheese I've ever had. It wasn't creamy or flavorful and the cheese was congealed. Probably because it wasn't hot. Needless to say I ate the breadstick and left the rest. On the other hand, my husbands rueben was great. The manager decided to hold a staff meeting in the bar during baby playing which caused a slowdown in our service so we had to wait awhile to receive and pay our bill. Sturgeon Bay has a lot of great restaurants. This wasn't one of them for this trip. Will I give them a second chance next time I'm in town? Probably not. I was underwhelmed. read more

Never stopped by to check on us once. We ran out of water, would have also liked a second beer, but nope. Came up to the area for a quick weekend getaway from Chicago. We always try to find the local gems to patronize no matter where we go. This place stood out on the list so we gave it a try. I had the the badger melt with sweet potato fries. The melt was one of the best I've ever had. I haven't seen rye bread that dark in years! It was fantastic. The fries were good as well as the sauce that went with them. The S/O had the black bean burger and was equally delighted by it. Veggie burgers can be extremely good or extremely bad but this one was one the on the high end of good. The bartender was extremely helpful and attentive. He made sure he drummed up hype for local sturgeon bay businesses as well as gave great recommendations for things to do around the county. Overall a great place to have a quick lunch. You can add chicken for $6 or salmon for $8. You cannot go wrong with the seafood chowder. Get it as a side with your entree for $5 extra. Delicious food at a popular place! We enjoyed drinks, excellent onion rings, and great sandwiches of many types!

We enjoyed our food. Had chicken quesadillas, double cheeseburger with Mac n cheese and grilled chicken sandwich with seasoned fries. The salsa for quesadillas was better when I added tobasco but I like spicy food. All sides are extra including fries but the prices were reasonable. They were busy as all places are now and forgot our drinks but they were personable and felt bad and didn't charge for the one beer we had because it came after our food. The atmosphere is like a pub. It was clean and in a neat downtown location. They had 4 different tvs running and one was actually the food network which was AMAZING!
