Brewery #266 Third Life Brewing is a true microbrewery: a small brewery doing good craft beer with no food and no frills. Third Life is located in the former office of an old warehouse that I believe was an old Iron Ore company ( if memory serves me right). The brewery even has the old safe still in wall. I got my usual flight that consisted of Cat Jammin'-Raspberry (Raspberry Wheat), Tomtoberfest (Marzen), S.S. Dankowiak (DIPA) and the Duke of Witch Tree (Hazy IPA). All of them were really good but the S.S. Dankowiak was the star of my flight board. Cool atmosphere with lots of table and board games. Good music playing and a cool brewery sticker. Been in Manistee awhile and had heard of this place and never had gone - until now. Glad we did. A great gem of Manistee, warm and welcoming and in a great location. The beer was excellent (had the Pushing Daisies, reminded me of back in the day when micro breweries just took off, fresh and delicious). The patrons were friendly and the gentleman who served us was warm and inviting without being intrusive. Great place, great vibe, awesome beer. read more

Really good brews, small taproom with bar and a few high tops, all drink orders placed at the bar, no food. Primary brews are lagers, although the pilsner was really good too, and the wife enjoyed the cider. We are definitely returning our next visit to the area. read more

Had an amazing afternoon , taking in the sunshine through the large windows. Enjoyed a few Blueberry Wheat beers, lovely conversation with Felix (bartender). Made this Kansan feel like a townie. Can't wait to come back later this year to see what's on tap! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this brewery.. The brew master runs the bar so it was great learn about his passion. I think one of my favorites was the Mango Habanero flowed by the Smoke night- stout. read more

Ok, TLB is brewery #263 for me. This was my second brewery for today before heading off to my hotel and it was definitely a great stop. I always try to review a brewery based on beers alone but sometimes it's hard. Sometimes I stop in and the vibe is just not good, or the service sucks, but neither was the case here. Great vibe, friendly staff and patrons. And as I will get to in a moment, the beer was great too. This is a small brewery with a one barrel system and a small tasting room. It's size belies it's impact though. The beers were really good, although I will not review them in depth individually. Sorry but I ended up chatting with Jameson, the owner, as well as a couple of patrons at the bar. The beer highlights for me were the blueberry and the barrel aged red. SWPFTD would enjoy the barrel aged red. In fact it might have made her PD if you know what I mean. You probably don't but if you don't take the time to figure it out you never will. Your loss... Of course your loss could be your time in figuring it out. This is going to be a short but enthusiastic review. I would definitely recommend stopping in at Third Life Brewing if you are in the area. Of course it would be really hard to stop in if you aren't in the area. In fact I'm hoping to stop in again since I missed picking up a TLB sticker for my RV fridge which is covered in brewery stickers. Maybe Jameson will read this and reach out to offer up a sticker. The service was astounding, such a great up north vibe. If you're in the area you must stop by, can't miss atmosphere.

If you're in Manistee, stop here, order a cider, and love your life. I love craft beer but it doesn't always love me, however, cider and I have a love love relationship. I've drank a lot of ciders from a lot of different places and the Brookie from Third Life is the best I've had. My sister was drinking Linda's Boujee Blue, a blueberry wheat and it was definitely on the table for me as an option, but I couldn't walk away from the cider. read more

Fabulous beer with a wide variety. Everything we tried was great. Service was also wonderful. My personal favorite was the Linda's Boujee Blue, a blueberry wheat. The Tad Bit Hazy was also a standout. There is a great local connection to the community, and I was very surprised to hear they haven't even been open a year. The location is perfect in Manistee. The wife really enjoyed the beer selections. It's a nice atmosphere for a small town brewery. I'm not a beer drinker, but they have cans of soda to choose from for those like me. read more

Great service! The owner really cares about his craft, and you can taste it in the product. I have been there for a drag show, and it was awesome! A fun, friendly, new small town brewery - great beers with enticing new beers coming out all the time. Owner and servers are hospitable and knowledgeable. The building. Itself has the cool historic downtown vibe. The decor adds a modern, light touch. They do not serve food but welcome you to bring your own or order from other nearby restaurants. Painted lady delivers and has great food. Sometimes Third Life has special events with food truck or potluck. Come support this new local business and enjoy the experience!
