A cute divey spot in downtown Ludington. I had mixed feelings about my experience. I stopped here after a long day of driving. Met up with a group of 5 to get drinks and food before checking into our Airbnb. The first thing we noticed was that there were no tables for groups larger than 4, so we grabbed a chair from another table and all crammed around a high top. There appeared to only be 1 waitress working and while she was friendly she was not attentive. Food took 50minutes to come out and drinks ran empty without refills. I had ordered 2 appetizers and skipped the mains. First up were the fried Pickle Chips that came with a ranch dip. The batter was flavorful, and the pickle fried to perfection. The second app I had gotten were the Bavarian Pretzel Sticks which came with a house made beer cheese. The pretzels were warm and doughy without being dry and the beer cheese was incredible. The rest of the table ordered wings and a burger, and everyone had great things to say about their food. The food was great but the wait time, lack of seating, and lack of staff really put a damper on the experience. This pub is currently sitting at a 5.3 on my Beli and it feels like a fair rating. As far as Ludington goes, you aren't going to find many hidden gems, but the Ludington Pub boasts a fair option in the Sports bar scene. Food is absolutely amazing. Had the PBJ burger which is a staple every time I go here. I never turn down the chance to get a peanut butter burger and theirs does not disappoint. Soft pretzels to start were a little buttery but very good. Buffalo chicken fries were PHENOMENAL. Service is very slow and you should expect to have a long meal there. Has a cool dive bar feel to it with TVs and high tops as well as tables. Overall the food is really good and never disappoints. We've now been here twice when we were in town. Both times we really enjoyed the burgers. This visit we had fried pickles and pretzel sticks for appetizers and both were delicious. There was no designated bartender, so servers had to go back and make their own drinks ( I actually think the bartender may have been acting as a server, as there was only one waitress). Fast, friendly service. Went on Sunday early evening at live music started at 6pm. The food was pretty darn good. We had the pretzels and fried pickles to share as starters. The fried pickles are in French fry form. Perfectly coated and crispy. The pretzels were buttery and soft. Would recommend both! Not anything special about the burger or chicken strips according to the others with whom I was dining. The nachos on the other hand were excellent! Fresh lettuce, tomato, and onions. Great tasting ground beef. The half size was more than enough for a normal appetite. It was our first time in the area. This is the loudest bar/grill I've ever been too. We waited a over 45 minutes before we got our food. The servers were extremely nice and helpful. The boneless wings were way overcooked and chewy. I usually like to come here for classic grilled cheese comfort food and fries (it really is the best). We went in at 1:45 and it was packed (which is great because it's usually quiet when we go on a Saturday lunch). There was a large party and the only open table was dirty. We stood for over five minutes with no acknowledgement from the bartender/waitress or cook. Another large group walked in behind us so I went up to the bar and finally got the bartender's attention to have the table cleared. We sat down but she showed no hurry to come and clear. We finally left. On a rainy Labor Day Weekend, it was so surprising and disappointing. We might return in the fall when town isn't busy. read more

Decides to try Ludington Pub while my husband and I were in town looking for a place with good food, wi-fi, and cocktails to enjoy a day in ludington and get some work done at the same time. We weren't expecting the best staff at lunch on a Tuesday, but we expected friendliness, and found none. We are easy and enthusiastic customers as long time bar owners and servers. We were ignored for several minutes when we walked in, and then treated like more of an annoyance than a welcome guests when our server finally came to our table, even though we were one of only two tables. She argued with us and spoke belittlingly about menu items when we asked what came on them even though the menu had only titles for those items. When we asked for our sandwiches with the toppings we like we got looked at like we had asked for toppings from outer space instead of pickles and onions and asked 3 times if we were sure. When food was delivered it was thrown onto the table from a distance with a bad attitude and the server left before we could ask for condiments, etc. Every single item we were served was overcooked. The bacon on my burger was so burnt it was a black, unrecognizable dust that just tasted like ash. My burger was dry and cooked almost beyond recognition, and my husbands chicken was as hard as a hockey puck. We fed 90% of the food to our dogs as we couldn't eat it and shuddered to think what would happen had we sent it back. When we ordered a screwdriver a second server told us, in his EXACT words: "I don't know how to make that you have to order something else." A completely unacceptable answer no matter what the cocktail request, but in response to one of the most simple and common cocktails in existence? Baffling. AND THEN HE STILL FORGOT TO DELIVER IT AFTER I TAUGHT HIM HOW TO MAKE IT. We were so offended that we left and drove to our favorite establishment on the lake all the way in Baldwin, 45 mins away, to finish our work rather than deal with such rude service. Was easy to find had turn of century look inside and was exactly what I wanted ...a small place ...great selection of beer etc...nice selection on the menu. The last few times we have come in Adam has been the bartender,. I have been a bar manager and this young man has no business being behind a bar. We have been here several times over the last 15 months during Covid and back now that things are opening and it is extremely busy! They were one in a few that stayed open!!! The staff at this establishment is amazing! One man kitchen show is crazy along with one or two servers who are running around to make sure everyone gets what they need! Appreciate their "can do" attitude! What I did not appreciate was some of the patrons being rude as it was really busy and may take a bit for things! Very dirty restaurant and the area where they cook was disgusting with food all over the floor and smeared on the counter where the food was being prepared. They had one waitress, one bartender, and one cook for the entire place on a Saturday night. We should've known there was a problem when we had to wait over 10 minutes for the poor waitress to even acknowledge us. While waiting over 45 minutes for our food to arrive we saw three tables of people walk in, sit down and after 10 or so minutes walk out and leave. While waiting forever to pay (our waitress had suddenly switched roles from waitressing to manning the grill), I approached the bar to ask for our check. While standing at the bar I saw where our food was prepared and how dirty it was. Most troubling of all of the food was cooked touching each other (raw chicken next to raw beef patty) on one tiny grill. So risky for contamination. The food was also extremely greasy. I went fishing in Michigan on lake Hamlin with a buddy of mine from the Chicago area. While staying in a cabin up there, we did a lot of our own cooking, but did venture out for dinner on 3 different occasions. The town does shut down early during the week which required us to drive all over town for a bite to eat. Lucky we found this place. It was a homey type small bar, nicely decorated with interesting paintings on the walls. Some locals were playing music and singing when we arrived. It had a very nice atmosphere. There was one person behind the bar and another at the grill, which was also behind the bar. The smell of freshly cooked burgers filled the air. If you were not hungry when you walked in it wouldn't be long before you began craving a bite or two or three etc... The wings and burgers we're coming out non-stop until closing time. My buddy and I had burgers and fries with a cold beer. Sometimes there is nothing better than a pub burger. This hot off-the-grill burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion was oozing juice down my hands as I tried to get my mouth around it. Be sure to ask for plenty of napkins, as this will be required - trust me! This was a 5 star burger. While we both have hearty appetites, I was unable to finish it. My buddy finished his though.
