Walleye dinner with jalapeño sauce Walleye dinner with jalapeño sauce was outstanding and the smoked fish dip.

This is supposed to be 2 of every type of fish on the menu and feed 2 people. Most pieces were nugget sized and not that good. Too bad I had high hopes

This is the best walleye sandwich I have ever had. The hush puppies were also the best. Nice atmosphere for eating outside. The prices may look high at first glance but you get what you pay for, high quality fresh fish. I look forward to eating here again soon. Great service, card and ApplePay accepted.

Perch basket, fries, cole slaw, tartar sauce

Excellent offering of fried fish. Perch basket was fried nicely and not oily and greasy. The fries were solid, nothing to write home about. Comes with 2 hush puppies that were good as well. Coleslaw with dried cherries in it is very tasty and adds a nice sweetness. Overall a solid place to get fish in town. Also, great spot to eat your food outside and enjoy the weather and live music (on some nights). Only issue is the prices, a little pricey but you can expect that from a spot in a vacation town like Ludington. Would definitely recommend.

Tourist spot, super overpriced fish that is very clearly from a bag. The coleslaw like the worst thing ever. Super small portions

Great little find. Fish is delicious and the little park out front was the perfect place to enjoy.

Good meals at a decent price. Fresh and hot. Hush puppies were great too. Listened to some music eating in the park.

Closed each time I visited. Heard the hushpuppies were to die for. Curious on eating the fish. Maybe next summer.

Small interior - order take out, eat at outside tables or take home. Excellent fish choices, hush puppies, homemade slaw. Local and good.

I call it fate that my 1st choice for dinner was too crowded and noisy for a day of traveling/…read morebiking. But The Alley Bar & Grill was Perfect for what we look for in small town places that don't have bells and whistles but everything else that matters. Great staff interacting with the customers, serving great food and drinks with a welcoming atmosphere. Our server, Sondra, and her fellow "chef" were working hard in the kitchen making the tastiest looking pizzas. It was a challenge to choose our food because we were really hungry. The menu is smaller but everything on it is high quality eats. I had cheese curds and tried the Pollock filet, crinkle cut fries and slaw; my friend had wings with buffalo sauce and the French dip, steak fries and slaw. I asked for another option for dipping and their cocktail sauce with the curds was a great combo. Although the ranch dressing tasted homemade. I'd never had Pollock before and I enjoyed it with malt Vinegar, generous portion lightly breaded and I almost finished before finding a few bones in the meatier part. I know it's expected but I have a quirk when I find a fish bone, I'm done. My friend's French Dip had a generous amount of meat, on a soft hoagie type roll and was "so delicious". This place had just about everything fun to do inside: beer pong, pool, darts, fooseball s as nd even a room/ stage in the back for live entertainment! We had the jukebox this evening, playing good classic rock and when it stopped my friend was going to fill it up with coins and keep it going. But we overheard Sondra encouraging a guy to, "Pick as many as you want to because it's free." Prices were $$ for the quality and portions of food, clean inside and atmosphere. We parked in the street and walked about 300 ft to the door, which has 2 steps to enter. I highly recommend that you go find out what's happening in The Alley, I bet you'll have a great time!

Today we visited and it was awful. It is so sad to see that this restaurant has completely went down hill. Things started off fine. We were greeted at the door and seated right away. We then waited 50 minutes for our food to come out. Our appetizers came out quickly because they were just deep fried apps, but our entrees took 50 minutes. Our appetizers didn't taste right like the oil was old or something. The onions rings did not look appetizing, a darker color to them from the oil? My friend has the fish and chips and said the fish had good flavor but it was chewy and soggy. My other friend had the fettuccine Alfredo and didn't even eat it. We all tried it and it didn't taste like Alfredo. It had tomatoes in it too. My other friend had the salmon and rice pilaf and thought it was good. I had the cowboy burger. It was a really good burger, the patty was on the thinner side and it definitely wasn't cooked all the way as shown in picture. I appreciated that they used real bacon and not microwave cheap bacon. The bun was a little small for the burger but it was packed with onion rings, bacon and bbq sauce. Again, the onion rings weren't great. The manager/our waitress Mandy was kind and attentive. She asked why I didn't want a box for my burger, and I just said it wasn't really cooked all the way. Then she shared about how things have been rough there and she is hoping to turn it around with being recently hired. She shared how the chef "has no clue what he is doing." Whoever owns Timbers is going to have to close their doors because no one is going to visit a restaurant that is not enjoyable. It was a Saturday night at 5-6pm and there were only 4 tables with people dining. That is a big red flag if your business only has 4 tables on a Saturday. The atmosphere is great, they have an upstairs and a small deck out back, and it is just so sad it is going to waste. There is free street parking and a small parking lot next to the restaurant. Overall I hope this place can turn around.
