It's a bit pricey and we sat on bar side but everyone in our group of 6 really enjoyed the food and service was good too.

Very good food and service. The prime rib was great as well as the fried chicken sandwich. The walleye was also excellent.

Our Michigan friends have brought us to explore Glen Arbor and on our way back, we desperately…read moreneeded food. We decided to try this place and were surprisingly blown away! Being a burger joint, we obviously ordered everything but the burgers lol. We had a long trip ahead and didn't wanna feel too greasy but looking over at other tables later, the burgers looked delicious. I got the peach salad that came with curried pumpkin seeds and shredded asiago and croutons. I added grilled chicken for $4. I wished there were some fresh peaches on it but the salad was tossed in a peach dressing instead. The croutons also tasted like fried pieces of sandwich bread. I will say, I was so pleasantly surprised by how delicious this salad was! Holy cow, after a few days of camping, having vegetables was one thing, having this salad changed my outlook on life. My fiancé was a little saddened by the fact that we will be no where near this place (from Connecticut) becuase he thoroughly enjoyed his brisket wrap. Maybe it's the Mid Western charm and hospitality, but our experience was so great. After getting the bill, our waiter (who had two colored socks on and my friend thought he only had one, but alas, one sock was just black while the other was a hot pink) offered us our drinks to go and brought us back a full cup of iced tea and Dr Pepper. Our table of four left with a $70 bill which was fantastic, given that the food also satiated us to the best degree. All the way from CT, I wanna say: thank you Michigan. And thank you to the Gnarly Heifer, even though we did not taste your Heif.

Gnarly burger perfectly cooked. Gnarly sauce made the burger along with caramelized onions.read more

It was our first visit to Doc's on the River…read more The restaurant recently just changed names and ownership. The new owner also renovated the restaurant and the up north vibes are cozy and welcoming. There is a very large parking lot. When we walked in, there was just a small nook to stand while we waited for a table. It was very busy, but expected for dinner time on a Saturday night. There was not a host at the stand so some other guest had a pen and was adding everyone's name to the list. Which ended up being very helpful actually! The host came back to tend to those waiting when she had time. She was very pleasant and kind. The space could be a family restaurant, but I would say it definitely leans more towards a sports bar. There is a full bar, high top tables, regular tables and lots of tvs playing sports. Every table was full when we were there and it was pretty loud. Towards the end of our visit it started to clear out a little bit. We noticed that when it did get quieter when people started leaving, there was not any music playing or anything. It kind of made it awkward feeling. We had the jalapeño corn bites as an appetizer. They were served with ranch. The bites were ok. I probably wouldn't order them again. For our entrees, my boyfriend and I both had the broiled walleye. It was very good and it was not dry. The mashed potatoes were amazing and my favorite part of the meal. The veggies were fine, nothing fancy! Our waitress seemed stressed and you could very much tell. The place was very busy but she was still attentive and helpful. They do have very nice restrooms. The place felt clean. Overall a good spot if you are passing through.

The breading is not that great as well. Drinks were reasonable. Will probably go back because they are close only 7.5 miles away. Will maybe go back to the burrito. They should screw that up should they?
