Sweltering Conditions - No A/C for Weeks…read more I stopped into Macy's at FSK Mall and couldn't believe how hot it was inside. The air conditioning clearly isn't working -- it was uncomfortable just walking around. I saw employees working in short sleeves with fans blowing on them at the registers. One even mentioned it's been like this for quite some time. It's not just unpleasant -- it feels unsafe for both staff and customers in this kind of heat. Disappointed that such a large company hasn't addressed this by now. Do better, Macy's.

Kohl's had some decent towels on sale. Like $4.99. Now this wasn't luxury cotton but it will do for a guest bathroom. They had nice housewares, and other stuff for the house on sale. The clothes were mehhh. The styles and the prices were not great. The store was rather empty for a weekday afternoon. Hardly any employees on the floor. Only ick was they have self checkouts. Which I despise because I feel that it takes away a job from someone, and if im doing your job I should get an employee discount! Also they no longer do Amazon returns!! These friends, despite having been vaccinated for some time, are still skittish eating indoors and had reserved a lot of outdoor tables. Unfortunately, April weather didn't care that we were trying to social distance. I was freezing my toes off the first night we were in town and had dinner outside. The next day I knew I had to get to a store and buy more acceptable clothing for eating outside. A few of us ubered to Marshall's. Initially I was worried because Marshall's had cleared almost all of their cold weather clothes and shoes away. My initial recon didn't yield much in the way of options. Fortunately, a deeper dive allowed me to discover some fancy-ish joggers and a high necked top that would provide more warmth than anything I'd packed. All told, my total $$$ spent was $48 and that included the Uber. Glad that Marshall's is a staple in most cities and towns. It comes in super handy!

While I don't do bohemian, as I'm too short and stocky for that look, I did see a few items I liked, buuuuutttt...like most boutique stores, I had a little sticker shock. I can't see myself paying $70 for a sequin top I'll likely only wear once. There were a pair of cropped jeans I was digging but didn't even bother trying them on because cropped pants + stocky build don't go together and those jeans were pricy too.
