I have driven past this store so many times and finally decided to stop in, and I was pleasantly surprised. They truly have everything. From apparel to furniture, it is all under one roof. There is a great mix of name brand and designer styles, plus a really nice perfume selection that caught my attention. They had some sales but you're still going to spend money on the perfume . There is plenty of parking, which made the visit easy. I went on a Tuesday afternoon, so that may be why it was not crowded, but I appreciated being able to shop without long lines. Boscov's is for me, the new Macys and JC Penny, especially their Frederick location! They have such affordable prices and a wide selections of items to sell from clothing, jewelry, fragrances, household items, and toys to name a few. I love shopping in their shoe section. A lot of the shoes they offer have incredibly comfortable soles. The service is also very welcoming. There is always someone ready to help if you need. I came and bought a pair of sandals and the employee was so kind and patient to get e my correct size. read more

Lord, lord, lord. If I would have known about the area this Boscov's was located in prior to my visit, I probably would have bypassed it. Funny thing was, I didn't notice the surroundings here until a few days later when a video of the "mall" popped up on YouTube. And maybe where I parked should have clued me in to, but I was oblivious and had a mission. I needed new bedding and I had been putting it off for some time. I wanted to stop here because I knew they would have a selection I could at least look over. Somehow I ended up at the right door that led me to the bedding area. I kept flip flopping back and forth between select sheets. Finally decided on one and then needed to get some extra pillow cases. Having king sized pillows never felt more difficult than trying to find cases to fit them. When it came time to pay, it was a bit difficult to find a register that not only was open, but staffed. It was like one of those gopher games you'd see in an arcade. Staff might pop up, but only when you weren't paying attention. Finally able to pay for my items and I was out the door and ready to head home. read more

This Boscov's is part of what used to be a large mall (Frederick Towne Mall), left with this store on one end and Home Depot on the opposite end. The mall closed in 2013 and has remained defunct since. The doors to the mall access are permanently closed, but I took some photos through the glass windows to look into what once was. Evidently there has been crime and even a fatal stabbing over the years, further pushing tenants out and residents away. The store reminds me of a cheaper version of Macy's crossed with a higher quality JCPenney. They have practically a full size candy store with displays and displays of various candy and confectionery on the upstairs level across from the toys section. It seemed reasonably safe, but a drive to this store is not really worth it. read more

Boscov's is a great store. You can find a wide variety of clothing and accessories for the whole family. The prices are usually really good. If you happen to go in when they are having a sale, you can pick up some awesome deals. The clothing is good quality and seems to last. They have a decent jewelry selection. Sunglasses, purses, Knick knacks, bath bombs, nail polish, cologne etc They also have a large selection of household items. Everything from outdoor decor, patio items, kitchen gadgets and dishes, yard flags, candles, signs, wall decor, lamps, some furniture, bedding items, holiday and seasonal items. This store definitely has something for everyone depending on what you are looking for. This location is not as big as some of the ones I have been to, but do not let that stop you from going. They still have a nice selection and plenty of sizes. read more

The clerks at Boscovs were strangely rude. I was there on Saturday, asked for pricing on 2 perfumes that were out on display and the clerk put the testers I asked about into the locked cabinet, telling me they have to put them away due to thieves. Then the clerk in the shoe department wouldn't give my friend, who is a surgeon at FMH a bag because, and I quote, "people fill them with merchandise and walk out of the store!" We were like, what? And she said "people shoplift!" Why insult people who are at the register making purchases. I am an engineer. I make plenty of money to shop elsewhere! Get some employees who aren't insane if you don't want to lose customers. read more

Just spent $100 on gusset drapery. Packaging stated 84" length. Took all 4 packages home and when I went to put them up ALL were 95" in length. I can see one package mislabeled but all 4? Now to make another trip and exchange them for hopefully the correct size. Guess I'll have to measure them in the store. And like someone else posted...where are all the employees? Customer service had only one person who was answering phones, and dealing with returns and pickups. Guess that's what raising wages to $15/hr does...fewer employees. read more

I have visited the Frederick store in search of a gift. I'd made several selections and tried to check out. I walked to all the places that sales desks had been previously, but they had ALL been removed. During my walk about, I searched for a sales person, but apparently they too, had all been removed. I finally located a desk in Petites, and waited...for a many minutes. I was beginning to become short on time. I used my phone to call the store, which no one answered for another...very...long time. Needing to leave, I stayed on the phone put my selections down and walked across the parking lot to my car. I was miles from the store, heading over Braddock Mountain, before anyone answered. The clerk who eventually picked up the call told me that all but 2 of the desks had been removed. She didn't know why. She didn't know if there were sales people on the floor, or how one could actually make a purchase. Don't waste your time trying to shop here. Even if you find something you like, you wont be allowed to purchase it. read more

Went here to buy a mattress and bedroom set. No one even acknowledged us! We waited for over 15 minutes. Ended up leaving and going to Value City where we were greeted immediately and spent over $3200. Also we bought TV trays at This Boscov's and had to pay for them in women's lingerie department. Hello, first of all I want to say boscovs is a great store to shop. They always have great deals. But having a boscovs charge is not a good idea, I had 2 employees offering me to open an account. The second employee was more convincing, which led me to open an account with them. Later that day I found out a couple of lies were told to me, but it was too late, I had already purchased and did not have time to return the items. All I'm saying before you open an account with boscovs be vigilant and ask questions. Don't fall for the puppy face and the percentage that is being offered. And the bank that is associated with the boscovs account is not really a good bank. This was my second attempt with having a boscovs charge. "NEVER AGAIN". read more

I like Boscovs, they really seem to be customer oriented, they take the time to go out of their way to answer all my questions, to find what it is I came there looking for. If they don't have what I came there for, they actually look up another department store that does have it. Not to mention, the Boscovs coupon and discount roullette. Great shopping experience! This may be the most under-utilized department store in the region. And, for the life of me, I don't know why. Boscov prices are hard to beat, especially when you're looking to purchase quality goods. I'm particularly fond of the jewelry section. Some very nice high-end pieces at very reasonable prices. And they offer free gift wrapping, too! And unlike the discount stores (Walmart, Target, etc.), there's never any problem getting in or out of this store. I guess that's because it is in fact one of the most under utilized retailers in the region. I just hope they'll stay in business. read more

OK, so I'm a little disappointed at Boscovs after this week I needed cheap hangers, dollar hangers, the cheap plastic ones, my car's in the shop so walmart was out of the question (not gonna take a bus just to scrimp on a couple dollars) Ollies didn't have them Boscovs only had fancy ones, wooden ones, heavy coat hangers. The freakin dollar store didn't have them either. Woulda walked to Kmart but it started raining. read more

Boscovs is great! Everything is so inexpensive and their selection is HUGE. The store has two floors, Juniors, Womens and Men is on the main level. Upstairs are the bathrooms, kids clothing, candy, housewares, furniture, and so much more. The checkout lines can get long sometimes but it goes quick. read more

I loved this store until this past Sunday around 10:15. I'm only giving it 3 stars instead of 1 because I shop here a lot and there was only 1 other time I encountered a rude salesperson, but on Sunday it was 2. I was shopping for my mother and found 2 pair of pants for her. 1 pair was on a clearance rack in the petite section. When the 1 clerk rang them up they rang up $5.00 more than the sign said. I pointed out to her that was not the price on the sign and where the rack was I got them from. Her reply was well somebody must have hung them there. Not my problem. The 2nd clerk picked up the tag and said, theyre not even petite. Again not my problem. Then the 1st clerk chimed back in and said"if we gave everybody the price because it was hung on the wrong rack we woukdn't make any money!" Again not my problem and that comment wasn't necessary. I won't be shopping in the womans department again, or I will avoid those 2 saleswomen or shop at another location. No excuse is a good excuse! read more

Worse Shopping Experience Ever! The employees at this Boscov's are so unhappy and angry. I have never been treated so poorly in any store as I was here. I forgot to bring my 15% paper coupon and thought I'd use my phone to bring it up and I was told they can't do that. What??? I was told the computers are just too old and don't have that capability. Again, what???After much drama, someone did know how to use the coupon (you just plug in the number below the bar code-- not a difficult task or hey if you are customer service oriented, you keep and then give the customer one of those coupons behind the counter). I won't even go into how the employees were complaining about management and other employees. read more

I LOVE Boscov's--there are always great deals to be found there, the sales clerks are almost always nice, the selection of items is great and they offer all sorts of "cutesy" cooking classes/craft classes, etc. My ONLY complaint is that there is not a great selection of clothing in boys 8-20, although the men's department is fine. The women's clothes are great, though. I also love the free gift wrapping. It's probably my favorite department store in our entire county and that's going up against Sears, Macy's, Penney's. They have a wonderful shoe department with a large variety of styles/sizes. I'm also a fanatic for flip flops and their summer selection can't be beat. read more

This store has a lot of merchandise, but where are the employees? I stopped to pick up a few items. I walked around for quite a while looking for a cashier. It was a little creepy - it was like the store was empty. I finally made my purchase at the customer service desk. It's a shame becasuse there's very few options on that end of Frederick. read more

One of the best things about Frederick. Boscovs is a department store, with all the usual departments, including mattresses and furniture. If you are buying furniture, you are missing out if you don't make a stop here (their sofa selection is pretty large and well-priced). I've found some cute clothes here, but they are sometimes out of my size. While annoying, I can still get what I want by ordering it at Boscovs.com. As mentioned in other reviews, their prices are hard to beat. And the people working the registers don't seem defeated like in other stores; they are pretty nice. read more

Sadly, My daughter had to witness a store manager who we see all the time in boscovs, Jen, walk around the store in a 2 piece bikini. she walked out of one of the fitting rooms from the womens department and strutted all the way to the juniors department. boobs and butt cheeks were hanging out. My daughter asked me why that lady is walking around like theres a pool in the building. That was very unprofessional and we did not expect to see as much as we did on our weekly trips to boscovs. kids are in boscovs all the time they dont need to see a half naked woman walking around while shes supposed to be running a store. read more

Together with Macy's, Boscov's is one of my go-to stores in Frederick. ( Not a huge fan of Kohl's-hit or miss-and I literally cannot breath in JC Penny's because of the mildew there). Prices are good and selection is fairly good, too. I will say when it's time to check out, clerks are hard to find. On two different recent occasions (different clerks), I waited quite a while in line while they were chatting it up with the customers. I don't quite understand why the bad location-the only store left in the old deserted mall in a not- so -nice area. Seems to me more business would offset higher rent. read more

I went here with my 15-year-old yesterday and we were amazed and delighted by the quantity and selection of merchandise. The staff were helpful and kept the stock neatly hung and arranged.
