I know it's stressful moving Halloween and trying to find a way for it to take up less space so that Christmas can be put on the floor, I work retail myself. But when the WORKERS make a mistake we honor it. I'm saying workers because the item I wanted was showing $2 on the shelf with SEVERAL OTHER items beside it, only difference was the color and style, no customer is going to set down MULTIPLE of one item in an organized line. It rung up for $8 so they just removed it because $4 is going to kill the company. Worst experience.

Well its October 2025, and it was like a Ghost town and the food court was by far the saddest one. I think only two places were opened on a Saturday. Lots of stores are closed and the parking lot was completely free. Not much selection now in terms of things. They still have some clothing stores left, but not sparse in terms of styles. The food court is actually clean because of the low foot traffic and someone is constantly cleaning the place. They do have Tesla superchargers here so its a good place to charge and walk around. The chargers are in the corner of the lot and typically just walking to the bathroom and back and most of the charge should be done so not really much time left to wander. It was sad to see and kind of made me feel like life has moved on from my childhood.

I wish now that I would have went elsewhere. I walked in and went to the area they had setup for customer service. Told them that all I wanted to do was exchange it for exactly what I had. They kept the item and I went back to the electronics department to find my replacement. I searched and searched and searched for a replacement. I wasn't seeing what I needed. I went to look for an associate to see if I am just blind or if they were indeed out of the item. When I saw an associate I went over and asked if I could get some help. It was a bit funny, I had asked one and had two come to help me. When I pointed out the item that I needed she used her little scanner thing and scanned the peg. Her database was telling her that there were two of them in stock. But not on the peg. We looked through every peg as a just in case. Nothing. Walked the department to make sure there wasn't a display with them on, nothing. Then the truth comes out. They had no one with knowledge of the department currently working. So even though the associate was answering my questions, her knowledge of the department was nil. She was just giving a blanket answer. Working retail prior in my life I would have gone to the back to check and see if it was just sitting on a shelf waiting to be placed on the floor. Or at least that's what I used to do when working. We would constantly pull items from the back to see if they could go out, if they didn't, they just went back to the back. I ended up just buying the charging cord that was shorter because it was needed and I didn't have any other time to stop elsewhere before reaching my destination. Went to the front and told the associate I was dealing with what the situation is. This is the irritating part. For me exchanging an item that was damaged to no fault of my own and having to get an item that was similar but not exact, I could receive the difference back to me via put back on my debit card (which is my money and basically cash in these days) or I could receive it back as store credit. For real, you think I want to carry around a gift card with like two dollars on it. I guess I'll just wait the three to five business days for it to show back up in my banking account.

It looks like a customer service desk, a deserted one. In fact, I don't remember seeing a single employee in here, ever. Concerned that it might break against the steel strainers, I politely asked her to remove it. She refused, explaining that the holidays were approaching and the store was short on bags. I understand supply constraints and would have been willing to compromise, but her dismissive attitude made us feel that serving customers was a favor and that we should be grateful she even packed our purchases at all. One note to Ross management and HR: you should be more particular to whom you hire as a cashier; they are maybe your first line of customer contact. We should not be treated this way. I spent around 2 hours shopping inside the market as I made sure to visit nearly all the vendors and get all the items I was interested in trying for the first time. First stop was the candy vendor where I got a quarter pound of cookies n cream fudge $3.98. Then the Bakery vendor where I got a carrot cake (whole) $21, cream cheese cinnamon buns $7.59, white icing cinnamon buns $7.59, pumpkin roll (whole) $10, and a carrot cake roll (whole) $9. Then I went to the donut vendor where I got a dozen assorted donuts $15 but I only had a glazed, chocolate Oreo, fruity pebble, Dutch crumb filled, and s'more. Then the fresh produce & juices vendor where I got an orange juice half gallon $14, strawberry lemonade $10, and blackberry lemonade $10. Then the pizza vendor where I got a slice of their bbq chicken pizza $4.55. Then Ben's bbq where I spent $43.68 and got less than half a pound (.40) of their bbq ribs, a quarter pound beef brisket, stuffed chicken breast meal with 2 sides (smoked Mac n cheese & mashed potatoes), and 14x assorted wings (bbq, smoked, Cajun, honey bbq, old bay, seasoned, and bourbon). Then the log & pretzel vendor where I got a Cajun crab log $7, beef brisket log $8, cinnamon sugar pretzel $4, and a side of white icing 0.75$. They had run out of some stuff, but they were also doing deals like BOGO pie and 99¢ drumsticks and thighs. I'd definitely recommend the pies, pretzel sticks, fried chicken, and Whoopie pies. And while the donuts were very popular, they weren't my fave. That being said, I got a ton of food at a very reasonable price and left very happy.
