This is another mall that I don't actually feel bad visiting (a.k.a. Dead Mall Syndrome). This one is still mostly full with a lot of folks bustling around - at least on the Saturday I visited. There also businesses ringed around the periphery, meaning that this is a busy area - if you're nostalgic and/or like your retail all in on place, the Valley Mall is for you! Recommended! read more

Today, 12/23/25, I visited this store to pick up a customer order. The counter clerk was unpleasant and unhelpful. She was also outright rude, acting as if she did not want to retrieve the customer's order. I asked for a manager; she resisted calling one and displayed an unnecessary attitude. When the manager finally came to the front, she was not helpful either. She did not look for the customer's order and simply told me it was not there. To justify not checking, she stated that she had already told the customer the store did not have the item they ordered. This store has EXTREMELY POOR customer service, and as an African American woman, I was led to believe that the behavior I experienced was prejudiced. read more

This mall isn't huge, fancy, nor are there any high-end stores, and it gives me the nostalgic feel of when I was a kid, and I love it! Whenever I'm in the area for work, Hubby & I have too much fun from arcade games, mini golf, shopping for some kicks aka shoes & a new fit, to watching a movie in 2cc ( think thats what its called) pretty dope I recommend! The locals are all chill, laid back, and friendly they always have great recommendations on things to do in their town. This is definitely one of my fav stops when passing through. read more

What the hours are online is very misleading. It says they close at 9 pm but stores started shutting down at 8 pm. So which is it?

It is refreshing to come to a mall that is doing well. I am use to being in one that has many empty storefronts and not much foot traffic. The latter of the two I can attribute to it being the holiday season. I am not sure how they do it, but this is still a relevant shopping destination. There seems to be ample parking around the mall, to me it seems that no matter where you park you are not really that far from an entrance. Inside it is clean, well lit, and not too crowded. It was nice to be in a vibrant space for once. Food court seemed pretty packed as well with a good variety of food to choose from. The area was kept tidy, and there appeared to be enough tables to accommodate. Dick's Sporting Goods to open soon to fill an anchor spot. There are several out parcel spots that compliment the mall. Worth a stop if you are in the area and want to shop. read more

This mall still seems to be doing decent business with very few empty shops, many kiosks and the anchors in place. There are also a number of outbuildings that are restaurants and such. I suspect this mall will continue for a while. Clean tile floors, enough lighting and signage, plenty of parking and easy access. It is right next to the Interstate, which no doubt helps with traffic. I saw a parking lot patrol making their way around the exterior. I did not spot the interior security. Anchors include JCPenney, Sears and Bon-Ton. Smaller shops are the usual chains you know about, cell phone companies and a small food court. Interesting (to me, at least) to see the four jewelry companies all vying for business at the main intersection - Kay and Zales plus two local shops that looked very well stocked. (And if my wife is reading this.... No, honey. I'm not buying you jewelry for Christmas.) read more

Gym one one side of mall, tonz of stores, step malls around this mall to keep things close!! Very impressed. A lot of foot traffic for Wednesday evening too. No dead mall here! read more

Absolutely SAD. The mall in itself is a decent mall that offers ok shopping however this Christmas ...brought the kids to see Santa only to be told it's all by reservations now. Go online to make a reservation only to be strong seemed into prepaying for pictures and services. Luckily a sweet employee snuck my littles up real fast to say hi to one of the most kind Santa's ever. Sad that Christmas has now become RESERVATION based but grateful for that sweet employee. read more

I don't really have a complaint about the mall but rather why they let workers and customers smoke outside the main entrance. It is disgusting and dirty because of them. They have areas where they could create an outdoor smoking patio instead of making everyone else walk through this to go in. read more

A bit dated and needs an infusion of a good store or two but it is clean and greatly appreciated by the residents of Hagerstown. It is still extremely nice during the very cold winter moths and very hot summer months to shop in doors. read more

A good variety of stores and in this day in age it is a good, solid and thriving mall. Unfortunately, Macy's and Sears are no longer here (or in existence for Sears) but they were smart and had some cool replacements come in. The mall is clean and the restrooms are clean too. Lots of good stores to check out! read more

I thought this was a very nice mall in Hagerstown. It still seems vibrant. All the storefronts have businesses and there is a nice sized food court with a kids play area and also a theatre. Nice place to while away a cold day. read more

It is a bright, open space with the typical assortment of places you'd expect in a mall. Coming from Winchester, it was nice to see an H&M there since there is not one here...yet. This place was a lot nicer to go to back when Macy's was here, but that has since closed. Good for a trip out of town for the day but really nothing here anymore that would differentiate from the Apple Blossom Mall in VA. read more

Would have given more stars BUT after having security shrug off a man HARASSING and FOLLOWING a woman, with two children, I can't (in good conscience) give them a great review/rating. My companion and I were walking between stores when we heard a man shouting loudly at a woman some 15ft ahead of him, and she kept speeding up, tugging her two children along with her, nervously glancing back at him. The man shouted profanities at her, just as he passed a security guard (who was busy talking to a man in a yellow shirt, about the cancelled games due to the hurricane). My friend and I went up to the security guard, asking if he would mind making sure the woman got to her car/etc. since she was leaving the mall and this man was shouting profanities at her. The security guard asked what man, we pointed out the loud, angry man who was STILL SHOUTING. The guard shrugged and told us, "Probably just a wife being rude to her husband.", then turned his back and went back to his conversation about football. Otherwise, we had a fairly pleasant afternoon. The arcade (Down by the food court) was amazing, and I look forward to repeat visits and seeing just how much the community seems to be enjoying it. It does have a nice selection of stores and places to get a snack, as well as a couple nice places to get a good meal. Place is fairly clean, parking is a bit of a mess in the summertime. The flow of foot traffic is nice, it rarely seems all that congested - even during holiday shopping season. It is a little on the warm side, year-round, so if you are someone who has any health issues that can be problematic during the heat of summer - you may want to take this into account (bring a cold drink, etc.) when shopping here. read more

We do the majority of our shopping here but Sunday was just not fun! While I understand stores come and go, the stores they have moving in currently are not helping bring business to the area. Payless is leaving, the country store and sears have closed but they bring in a "game store", an expensive arcade and a gym? They should just close it and make it strictly a food court or expensive clothing since that is what there is most of. Please bring the family atmosphere back and new shops to our town read more

I'm kind of shocked at the previous comments. For the Four State Region, the Valley Mall isn't bad at all. The Four State Region is kind of devoid of any large retail attractions (other than Premium Outlets), so Valley Mall fits the market well. Nearby malls in Martinsburg, Chambersburg, and Winchester simply don't compare. Department store anchors include JCPenney, Macy's, Bon-Ton, and Sears. There is also a large theater attached to the mall. Other than the usual mall eateries in the food court, dining options on the mall property include The Titled Kilt (like a Scottish Hooter's), Red Robin, Golden Corral, Noodles & Company, and Olive Garden. The JCPenney store at Valley Mall is amazing! It's a two-story store that was recently renovated. You will be surprised how upscale it a JCPenney can be. It even has a Sophora counter. The Bon-Ton at Valley Mall, while a bit older, it still the largest that I have ever been in. Bon-Ton has a reputation as a store for older women, but it still carries a lot of nice women's brand name clothing and fragrances. The Macy's is also large, but it's starting to show its age. As for Sear's, well, it's a Sears. Some notable inline retailers include Old Navy, Charlotte Russ, Aero, Men's Wearhouse, American Eagle, and a plethora of other mall stores. For the market, this mall stands out above the rest! read more

Welllll... At least the layout makes it easier to navigate than the Key mall in Frederick. And I loved the food court. The obese, pasty Americans stuffing themselves with crappy fast food made me lose my appetite and start power walking through the mall. There's a Victoria's Secret, Books-a-Million, and Auntie Annie's- these are probably the only stores I'd venture in. Maybe Sears if I needed tools or something. The vendors selling sports memorabilia in the middle of the mall were definitely the most interesting find. The only reason to stop at Valley Mall is to find a restroom, which is how we ended up here. read more

Well it's true. This is the dreariest excuse for a shopping mall I've ever been in. It's like any other mall but worse. It's boring it's sterile, it's nothing. There is no imagination here. Nothing creative or interesting to the eye. The only thing this place is good for is to walk when the weather is bad. Otherwise, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever for any one sane mind to come here. For many, I guess, it's a job, and that's about as far as anyone can take it. read more

This is a one story mall and several stores have actually left the mall. Check the directory for a list of stores that are left. There is no longer a customer service area with stroller and wheelchair rentals. The food court isn't very large but there is a nice selection of restaurants around the outside of the mall. The remaining stores within the mall are very nice and clean. There is mall security and it is in a nice neighborhood. I wish the mall would expand and get more stores. There is a movie theater that's very nice. read more

I can't be too hard on this place given that I found what I needed (for some reason there's no Old Navy anywhere near where I live so I had to drive over here), but I don't think I'll be heading back any time soon. It's not the mall's fault; they used to be prosperous. But nowadays malls just aren't what they used to be anymore, and they all look a little run down, this one being no exception. read more

I came here on Black Friday. There were decent enough usual stores, but this mall is still pretty small. I was surprised to see a Suncoast....and a lot of people in it. I was disappointed that there was supposedly a bubble tea stand here, but it wasn't there anymore. read more

Small but fits the area. Hagerstown is not that big and not much goes on here. They need to change up the stores in this mall. It can also take on a second level and it would give the people more to see and more places to shop. read more

After several trips to two different sprint stores in two different states and on phone with apple finally fo the Hagerstown Valley mall kiosk manager Shane and Damien were here to exceed my expectations and relief! Issue could never be resolved for many months.... today with amazing time and DETERMINATION...Shane fixed my problem with the fb app. I was overwhelmingly thankful to him. He is truly a DEDICATED employee that deserves recognition!!! Highly recommend these two guys! read more

Although this mall is pretty nifty with it's Sears and Red Robbin Gourmet Burgers stores(among many other bigger-named stores), it was a little less than I really wanted. It served it's purpose, though, as we were on vacation, and, the shoppers that we are at times, needed a calm and relaxing spot to. Don't get me wrong: it's got some really great stores I've actually heard about from my NY locale, but though quite big for a 1-level mall, there were few people who were actually shopping there. (We were warned by the nearby hotel's front-desk staff that it's become less crowded and has become something a lot less than it once was, but I didn't mind: I got out of it what I needed.) Personally, as you see above, I'm not from the area; I don't believe I'll be back anytime soon, but if I ever am nearby, I might see, if it's still open to public in years to come. read more

The best word to describe this mall is "adequate". Ok sure, it's not the greatest under general mall standards (bare minimum as one yelper said), but if you're a Frederick resident and have shopped at FSK (and-or Frederick Towne Mall) for many years, the Valley Mall will almost seem as if it were the Mall of America the first time you ever walk in. If a two story mall is your description of a "true mall", then you clearly haven't shopped at FSK. Two things Valley Mall has that FSK doesn't: a movie theater and most importantly a food court. It also has a Bon-Ton which, as of 2011, Frederick doesn't have. The Valley Mall isn't the absolute best, but it's certainly the lesser of evils. read more
