I always seem to find something in there! Not to mention it's combined with a HomeGoods - double the product and double the fun of shopping! I literally never leave this place without buying something. Latest purchase: Cat Mom hat. Only two things that caused me some issues: 1) When it reopened, it got ten times busier. Always like 200 people in the store. The grand opening was almost out of control, with insane lines. But I guess that also means that people genuinely loved the store and were excited to shop there again! 2) I finally signed up to get a TJ Maxx credit card and it didn't show up in the mail until almost a full month after I signed up. After about two or so weeks after I signed up, I just paid the remaining balance and cancelled it - I thought someone might have stolen it! Had to call their customer service and everything. Total waste of time for me. Not sure what happened but I signed up in early January and it is February 26th and I JUST got the card in the mail today!!! But at this point, I already cancelled it... :( Anyway that's why I had to give 4-stars. Other than that, I love the place.

Whenever I come here, it looks so sparkly clean that I feel that its a new store whenever I walk in. They're also connected to a Home Goods which is just as clean and has a good selection. This TJ Maxx's specialty is their jewelry line. Each individual TJ Maxx/Ross/Marshalls usually has their own specialty, one that makes each store unique and some unique enough to drive to the middle of nowhere to. I've personally bought many nice watches here because of their selection and prices. Recently for Christmas, I bought a women's Movado for literally half the price of the retail cost, it was on clearance. I saw everything from Lacoste and Fossil to Diesel, Movado and Coach. Don't expect Rolexes and Cartier here but it'll be good enough for most people. Prices ranged from $30 to $500. The staff had a southern hospitality thing going on, which I wasn't ready for considering the nastiness I was accustomed to at most TJ Maxx stores. In all, if you need a nice watch or want to be impressed by a clean TJ Maxx the one in Mt. Airy is the one you want to go to. It's pretty far (you know a store is in the middle of nowhere if you have to pass 2 Wal-Marts to get to it), but it was worth it for the awesome deal I got on a perfect watch.

These friends, despite having been vaccinated for some time, are still skittish eating indoors and had reserved a lot of outdoor tables. Unfortunately, April weather didn't care that we were trying to social distance. I was freezing my toes off the first night we were in town and had dinner outside. The next day I knew I had to get to a store and buy more acceptable clothing for eating outside. A few of us ubered to Marshall's. Initially I was worried because Marshall's had cleared almost all of their cold weather clothes and shoes away. My initial recon didn't yield much in the way of options. Fortunately, a deeper dive allowed me to discover some fancy-ish joggers and a high necked top that would provide more warmth than anything I'd packed. All told, my total $$$ spent was $48 and that included the Uber. Glad that Marshall's is a staple in most cities and towns. It comes in super handy!

What I thought was going to be a quick…read morestop to pick up a few items that weren't necessarily needed, but wanted, I'd be able to get in and out fairly quick. I was wrong, way wrong. First thing to know, the plaza it sits in is horrible. No one seems to understand traffic flow and just goes wherever they want without consideration of the fellow person. Once you are able to get close to the store, you are then almost force to fight to the death for a parking spot, especially from the people that want to shop at ALDI and park everywhere. Inside it was a bit of a disappointment as well when it came to selection they had on hand. I'm not putting them down in any way as they were working to stock the shelves in between attending to customers, but what they were stocking was nearly fully stocked and other items that were nearly out could have used the attention. Trying to get through the store was a bit difficult as there were items strewed about. And it could have just been me, but the aisles felt a little narrow making it difficult to shop comfortably. When I did finally get the items I needed I made my way to the front to pay. Per usual, one register was open. Here is where I will give them some credit. Even though it appeared to be a rough day for both employees and customers in the store, the staff were enjoying themselves while they worked. One employee was running all around, stocking and assisting customers, and the others would yell his name to either help or grab something. At one point they yelled his name just to mess with him and were laughing, they even tried to get me to get in on the gag.

It was a shopping day with mom, and we needed some household things--some caddies for drawers, a pair of gloves for cleaning around the house, and a few other items including a cute Santa ornament (my mind is already on Christmas). There were at least 500 different Christmas items already fully stocked and ready for the upcoming holiday decorating season. It was impressive how just a few days ago we were pumpkins and ghosts and witches galore. The store was well stocked, had an adequate number of employees both at the register and on the floor, and the store was predominately clean and well organized, except for some areas within reason. One store clerk was helpful in proactively asking whether we needed anything, and she made a genuine attempt to find what we couldn't find. We were able to check out quickly. A blue hair-dyed teenager quietly rung up our items and bagged everything efficiently. He was polite and told us to have a nice day. I would return!

I have been to every TJ Maxc in every city I have visited, and I have never believed they treated me so rudely. The manager, i also worked retail for 20 years... Connie, told me this after the salesperson told me I could take the items up front where this line was. I was attempting to buy two small items and asked why I couldn't check on the jewelry. Common sense and good management seem to be lacking here. People with 5'items or fewer could have been ch checked out like I have seen at other TJ Maxx. I did not purchase anything and walked out.

I had my AirPods in, but the volume was low enough that I could still hear my surroundings. As I walked past them, one of the women was putting on her coat, while the other kept staring at me with a disgusted look. I briefly made eye contact before looking away. I know that one of the employees sometimes walks in the same direction I was headed, so I made sure to walk ahead of her to ensure she felt safe--because I know I wouldn't feel comfortable if someone was walking behind me late at night. As I continued walking, I heard both of them laughing at me. I know they were laughing at me because neither of them was having a conversation, and there was nothing else happening that could have been funny. This behavior is completely inappropriate. I am significantly younger than these women, and it's disturbing that they would judge and mock someone like that. It's disgusting that this establishment employs such judgmental and miserable people. Edit-- I honestly don't know if one of them was the manager, but either way, this is highly unacceptable and should not be happening especially toward someone much younger than them.
