This was a really nondescript JCP experience. I came in here in hopes of finding some new clothing. However, I should have just saved my time. I browsed the men's section for quite some time and nothing really stuck out for me. Or at least it didn't seem like it to me. The section seemed rather small when I think of it. To me it felt like the men's section consisted of more clearance items than anything else. It's one thing to have regularly marked items on the shelves and racks, but it you are going to overwhelm the area with clearance maybe you should make this a discount center. Or an outlet, whichever it may be. It really felt like a waste of time to stop in here. I did a once over and couldn't find an item and headed back out. read more

I don't believe they deserve a one star rating. Previously had a bad experience with Jcpenney a few years ago and since Mother's Day was coming around, decided to give them a try again. NEVER AGAIN! I ordered a new ring and bracelet for my wife, and the bracelet shows up broken. Not enough time to get a new one so I return it to the store for a refund. The ring I'm still waiting on, however I get double charged for it and calling customer service raised my blood pressure even more. The lady says that happens because it's about to be shipped but not a good reason why I'm charged twice. Not that it matters to them, but I'll never shop or order from them again. read more

Beware if you are ordering from JC Penny. They use LaserShip and bottom line I never got my two pairs of shoes that I ordered. From the beginning LaserShip gave me the run around. First they said they didn't have my address, I provided it. Next they said tried to deliver and I wasn't home which was not true and verified by my ring camera. Next they said package delivered and again no package and ring camera verified they never showed up. Called Penny's and was given the run around. No refund or new order shipped to date. Bottom line don't order from JC Penny. You might not get your merchandise or a refund. Hopefully Penny's will wake up and realize that they will lose customers if they continue to use an unreliable shipping company . read more

Noura has been my stylist for about 10 years. Trained by Aveeda, she's a senior stylist and she deserves every penny that she charges. I travel 70 miles, back and forth from PA, to see Noura every 3 weeks at JC Penny's. She takes her time and listens to her clients. This place needs help. No one knows of anything. Me:Excuse me ma'am - where can I find the women's suits? Clerk B: Suits? We don't have no stinky suits. But here's the clothes. Me: That's it. Just this little area. Clerk A: Yes. Now, go away. Me: ---humbly shaking expecting more... a better and different response ----Excuse me ma'am. I found a suit but need another size for the skirt. Where would these skirts be located in the store? Clerk A or B: All over. Me: Mgr. Aren't you a manager? Yes. Me: Are these regular full-time associates on the floor or Holiday help? Holiday help has been let go that didn't get asked to stay. Me: So do these associates know the store? Been with the company longer than 6months? Yes. Me: I was told you have no suits in the store. We don't Me: Well, this is a suit. I found a jacket, skirt, pants - if not a suit these are separates. We must've just gotten those. Me: It doesn't seem like it as most sizes are picked over. This is part of the Liz Claiborne section. Awkward silence. Why? Because come on people... Liz Claiborne is the signature line and they must know something of the product offering as this isn't a large footprint store AND they were not busy. I get my hair cut at the salon by Missie and she does a great job! Her prices are great and she doesn't rush like many hair stylist I've encountered. During my cuts she is super sociable and makes everyone feel comfortable!!! read more

I scheduled a last minute appointment through the online service with Dee Dee and let me just say... completely satisfied! The scheduling service was easy to navigate and use which offered me peace of mind up front. Dee Dee was so sweet and attentive. She made sure I was every bit happy with the service. I went in asking for a major change and she gave me every bit of what I wanted and more. Not only did she just cut my hair, she provided advice that was actually beneficial. (I'm not talking about the "don't do this" advice- I'm talking about actual advice. She showed me how to actually physically do what I wanted with my hair.) I left there feeling like a million bucks! Edit: Since posting my original review, my hair was RUINED by Joana. I asked for Lavender and ended up looking like the little mermaid! However, I'm not changing my rating of the salon because the manager handled it very graciously and refunded my money. Joana is no longer with the company and has been replaced by a young man named Genesis who is fabulous with cuts and blow outs, and though I haven't had my color done there, he is the go-to for the other stylists in the shop, so he must be good. He will make your toes curl when he washes your hair, ladies!!! Previous review: I have my hair done here in the salon by Joana. She is AMAZING and I won't trust anyone else with my hair-cut, color, eyebrows, she does it all. She even does pedicures! read more

Took the kids for the advertised $10 before school haircuts. Nora the stylist was insulted my 10 year old daughter that has really short hair like Kate Gosselin. She told her that little girls should have long hair and not short hair like boys. She started to get an attitude with my six year old little guy because like any kid his age, he moves his head. When checking out they charged me $10 for my little guy and tried charging $45 for my daughter because she added a tiny bit of product. So much for the $10 haircut. The receptionist brought Nora to the desk and explain that she's a senior stylist and that she used a bit of wax so that's what she deserves. They wanted to argue with me over the advertised price. Beyond rude and horrible customer service. I will never go to that salon again. read more

Purchased a dryer. Waited a week for delivery. The delivery driver called and said he wouldn't come up my driveway because it was too dark. Tried to ask him to unload it and we would take it up in our truck but he hung up on me. Dispatcher called, and said the driver wouldn't deliver the dryer and I had to schedule another delivery date. I asked for a supervisor, was given a number and of course no one answers. Won't purchase from JC Penny anymore. read more

I am their customer since a year ago. They have nice outfits with reasonable prices. A year ago they were not offering any coupon, but CEO changed and they are showering customers with coupons. The staff are friendly and helpful. Never had any bad experience there. They all seem to be busy working. I never saw anyone there wondering around. I really appreciate Mojgan, since every time i go to misses department she welcome me and ask me if she can help me. Lori is the general manager and she is super active, friendly, and nice. She opened the door couple times for me when I was with the stroller. Holiday season is the only crazy time of the year... still when I go there it's much cleaner than many other department stores. the only down side is their bathroom. It really smells bad. read more

JC Penney has a well equipped and not well known hair salon on the North side of their FSK mall location (located next to the Intimates department). Their prices depend on the stylist you get, but just because you pay more doesn't mean the cut is any better. Last time I paid $27 for Mary and the cut was OK - no complaints. Today I paid $18 and the cut was great. Donna took her time and was happy to make it a little shorter when I asked. Usually little to no wait time. Cheerful staff. read more

What a pricing scam!!!! They charge double for a haircut when you get a color treatment: it is $21 for a haircut, $45+ for partial foil... but $60+ for partial foil with a haircut AND they charge for the haircut! Went in for a shampoo, cut, blow dry but my regular stylist was out. Jayme had availability so I took a chance and went with her. Great decision! Jayme did an awesome job on my fine, limp hair. She knew how to texturize and just the right products to use. She gave me an awesome shampoo and head massage. She was cautious not to cut too much and gave me the option of cutting off just a little more. She did a great job drying and curling it. My hair turned out beautifully! I am very happy. read more

Nora is the only hair stylist I will see at JCP salon. She always does a fabulous job, I recently got a highlight/lowlight combination that's perfect for the fall. She's really good at what she does-- I can show her a picture or give her a description and she'll work with me to ensure that I achieve the look but that the cut and color also look flattering with my hair type, face shape, and skin tone. read more

I bought 2 desks for my daughters at JC Penney's.com. I was notified the desks were in so I went to pick them up yesterday. The line at the catalog/online department was unbelievable. The woman working tried to call someone else but after 15 minutes, no one came. When another customer suggested she call again, she gave them a mean look and declined to call again. I waited 1/2 hour in line and finally got up there. All was fine and I pulled into the loading dock to load the desks. A man, Mel, he must have been 80 years old came to "help" load the desks. First he told me that there was no way they would fit in the back of my minivan. Then he told me I had better have someone with me to help load because he couldn't do it. When I didn't have anyone to help he gave me a disguisted look and found someone. LUCKILY it was a very smart and helpful woman. We got both desks loaded easily and with no problem which is why it gets 2 stars. It was a long and frustrating experience with them. read more

Maybe I'm outdated on what good customer service is now versus a couple years ago, but the Sephora inside of JCPennies has some of the rudest staff members I've ever encountered at a beauty store. Not all of them are like this, but I could list a few who need to be re-trained on how to treat and talk to customers. I felt very unwelcome and it has definitely made it hard to want to go back there. Just a tip - Don't look at your customers like they're annoying you; they're the reason why you get paid. I went to JC Penney Salon today at the Francis Scott Key Mall in Frederick, MD. The stylist, Yung, totally botched a color touch up on my roots. My hair is a medium brown and she colored my roots a blonde color. She and another stylist, Vivian, worked together to fix it, but it did not work. You can actually see the brush stokes in my long, thick hair. It looks terrible. Now I have what they teach them in beauty school as "hot roots" which is a mistake made by colorists. Yung could have somewhat redeemed herself by not charging me, but she charged me $68 which included the cost of a trim, just my ends and some conditioner she insisted I needed before she ruined my color. They should have paid me, as now I have to go see my colorist, who was on an extended vacation, which is why I went there in the first place. Do not waste your money at this salon. They do not know what they are doing with color. A cut is probably safe. Don't trust them with color. #Hairsalon #Hairstylist read more
