I bought some suitcases here that had the price tags attached with a security cord. At checkout the employee gave me the price tags and said to keep them and the receipt if I needed to return. So when I received suitcases as gifts I went to return the ones I bought and they would not accept them because the tags were removed. I explained that the staff had removed the tags and even spoke with a manager who refused to accept them. I ended up taking them to the fountain valley location and getting the full amount in store credit. They seemed as confused as I was. read more

This is technically a TJ Maxx/Home Goods but both stores are the same anyway so who cares. I was shocked at all the great brands at this location. It was very Nordstrom Rack in here. I came in for luggage (I have had VERY successful luggage purchases from TJ in the past) but instead left with several other items I suddenly could not live without. They had those double layer washable cover neck travel pillows and iPod arm band things. THey had Philosophy shampoos and lotions. The lines here was super long but went by fast since they have alot of impulse items lining the line for you to look and laugh at. The service was really nice. The only thing that made this more Home Goods for me is they had alot of Home items- isles of throw pillows and crap to hang around your house. I wasted alot of time wandering through the isles. This place is a MESSSSS. Only a 45 min wait in line about 30 people waiting. Only 3 cashiers???? Bathrooms DISGUSTING! No toilet paper in the bathrooms to access. Another great TJ Maxx that I like to stop at when I am i the area. Again, no Runway section, you will have to drive to Tustin for that, but they do have a couple of purple tags mixed in. The store is well kept, nice staff, good parking, worth a stop and taking the time to look for deals. read more

My daughter and I visited this store a few nights ago. Another shopper brought in their dog, not a guide dog. It was sitting in the cart. The owner let it out to walk around the store and it went poop and pee on the floor. It stunk so badly. We could smell it from a few aisles over before we even knew what it was. I approached an employee and pointed out the pile of crap and pee, which was right in front of her. She responded with "yes. I know it's there. The owner said she was going to pick it up and clean it". I told her that she should at least put a caution sign there and stand near it so that someone doesn't slip on it. The dog also walked through the poo and left poo paw prints. I proceeded to get in line. The owner did one quick "swipe" with a paper towel. Which just smeared it more. And she left. The mess was visible from the line where it stayed for 15 minutes. No one cleaned it up. No one did anything. I finally got to the register and showed my picture of the mess to the cashier and she showed it to Alex or Alexi (something like that. He was the manager) who replied with "that's not my pay grade. Ew". Um. Really? He also told me "well the store closes in 10 minutes. It's fine". Disgusting and irresponsible. And. Don't let dogs that are not guide dogs or registered in the store. I moved into the area last month and because of the convenience I stop in here a lot, but if I had the option to go to a different home goods I would. I have not once had a positive experience. Every single time I get stuck waiting for a register for way too long. No matter how long the line gets there always only seems to be three cashiers open when there are almost always way more than three people back there/in the store.. the last two times were even worse because the young cashiers would talk to each other way too much in between customers before even calling the next customer in line. I have never written a bad yelp review before, but I've had the same experience way too frequently here. I hope this is something that can be worked on because I love home goods and I would hate to stop shopping here because of one bad store read more

If i could give them 0 stars i would.. horrible service the worst ever..!! to top it off they accused one of my children of stealing when he was trying to return merchandise thinking we didnt have a receipt in fact we did have one and when i confronted the supervisor she decided to hide and runaway to her office and not correct the problem . At that point i made a big deal out of it canceled my credit card i had with them and decided not to shop in that area anymore. Hopefully she gets fired for been incompetent this happen on a sunday ! If I'm looking to purchase my court/business attire I opt for the mall department stores but if I'm looking to get some t-shirts, towels, bedding, a belt and maybe some shorts TJ Maxx is a great place to come! Selection is always changing and when it comes to men's clothing so many items are marked down to dirt cheap! I can pick up a handful of comfortable, good looking t-shirts for under $15 a pop (with plenty under $10). To think my parents would spend more on clothes for me back in the day is a joke. I used to buy some kitchen items from the HomeGoods portion of the store but you can find better quality items for less at other places. The worst part of the place is the checkout. There's almost always a long line which moves at a snails pace. And if you want to return something you have to wait in that checkout line... read more

I would give the store zero stars if possible. I visited the store on Saturday, April 10th in the afternoon and was told by the "door/cart monitor" that I was not allowed to bring my coffee into the store. I asked to speak to a manager, as I have never had an issue before and also noticed there was no signage displayed stating this policy. The woman that came out, who claimed to be a manager, informed me that it was a "state mandate" that no drinks are allowed in the store. I assured her that there was no such mandate in place, as I have gone to other Marshalls, Home Goods and TJ Maxx stores and never had any issues. I will be calling corporate to file a complaint and suggest that they better educate their employees, especially management about state mandates and I will never give this store my business/money again. read more

It's been so bad even if there's an item I wanted to purchase after waiting for more than an hour I've just left the item there and I walked out the door. UPDATE YOUR HOURS ON YELP PLEASE! I have been desperately needing to make a return and have driven here TWICE for the store to be not open according to Yelp hours. It says you open at 10, on Sunday, in reality it's 11. Also says you close at 9:30pm on Weds. and it's actually 8. Although this TJ Maxx was fairly empty so there were no lines to try anything on, there was just nothing there to buy, either. The address is misleading, too, since it's not exactly in the nice part of Costa Mesa and does not equal the other great places to shop in the area. Usually, I can find the odd deal on an article of clothing, hair product, household item or something where I'm not expecting too much. Not here. I might have been first to review this older TJ Maxx, but at this rate, I'm guessing that I might also be the last. At least I didn't have a problem with lines when returning my item, but I imagine that it still gets about as busy as any other TJ Maxx. Don't apply for their credit card. Worst customer service ever! Like ridiculous. Sure you get a discount, but it's not worth dealing with a bunch of morons. If I'm late on my payment by 10 days and way under my credit limit like not even close you don't just put a hold on my card without saying anything. No email, no phone call. Nothing! People leave some really harsh reviews of this place! It's a TJ maxx not Saks 5th Avenue people... chill! Lol. I love this location because it's a home goods but they also have a good variety of clothing as well. For the home they have everything... Kitchen tools, pots & pans, furniture, decor, bedding, bath and everything in between. I also love coming here to buy workout clothes! I've found super cute nike and other name brand activewear at discount prices. They have a pretty good selection of regular clothing as well including some designer denim. You will for sure leave here with something you need and probably a whole lot of things you don't need! But that's what makes it fun to shop here. read more

Really, two cashiers for a line of 15-20 people? They call for more cashiers, amd employees slowly stroll up to the registers talking and laughing together while people stand and wait. Ive seen more chatting and talking beyween employees around the store than you woild see at a cocktail party. I think the employees have fun, not so much the customers. Managers seem to be having the most fun...with the employees. I gave it the second star because when i got to a register (took 15 minites), the new, young guy who helped check me out was nice. read more

Clearly this store has issues by looking at others reviews. But no, I continued to go because it is so close to my house. I brought my wife a Gucci, Givenchy, and other bags for their Runway section. So the other night when we left the Gym my wife saw some Valentino's that she like so we were looking at them and of course the a locked and chained up. So Breanna or Deanna the manager walked up with another worker and noticed that something wasn't locked up in the section. So she starts looking as if I unlocked it, she eventually locks everything up and never even asked my wife or me if we needed to see anything. She never even act knowledge that we were standing right there, No Hi, may I help you, would you like to see something.She just kept saying someone had to unlock this, we will find out who it was, then eventually left. When she left she asked the other employee to stay there for a while and keep an eye on it. If I wasn't a Christian, I would have let her have it. But Im guess since we came from the gym, while being black she thought we could afford designer bags or shoes, we would have to steal them! P.s. I never use the race card, I have friends that are just about every nationality most being white as I live in Newport Beach CA... I have more issues with this location but, I'll leave it at that! If I could give 0 star I would! My mom and I went there and she spent around 150$ and I spent 320$. Jean that she liked had couple of stains on it so we asked if there is any other but cashier said whatever we saw, it's all they have. Ok I got that part. My friend asked if we can get a discount for it. Cashier went to talk with manager and then the drama start. Manageria Angelina was so rude, I can't even describe. I'm gonna write a letter to Tj max. How come they can let someone like her could work for them? In the end we bought that pant no matter what under the weird looks of that manager. When we came home we were notice that, we have charged double for the same item! How funny is that! You guys are rude and don't know how to do your job! I am completely appalled, insulted, and astonished at your management teams performance Tuesday evening Dec 12 at your store 2300 Harbor Blvd Unit D Costa Mesa, CA 92626 United States We spent an hour and a half in your store. With over 650 dollars in items sitting at the checkout register, your manager Tina Z, left us standing 20 minutes only to finally refuse to deduct a mere 10% off of a solid wood media cabinet that clearly had damages in several locations. Your manager refused to observe any defects we were trying to point out, she observed defects on her own and still refused, she walked away as I was speaking to her mid sentence and being that she began denying our request as she walked over made it clear she had made her decision not to oblige to our request long before ever speaking to us. Perhaps she is racist, hates the military, hates men, or is so puffed up with her own ego she is blind. This was for a dental office, We won't be back!! 650 dollar sale botched because of your managers ego. This store is HUGE and full of deals! The home goods department takes up half the store... I could spend hours there! They also have a huge selection of clothes and shoes! The store is loosely organized, frustrating to some...but I consider it part of the fun! :) My complaint.....the checkout line is always EXTREMELY long, with not nearly enough people working. I really tried perusing their clothing racks, but I've had better luck at the TJ Maxx in Fountain Valley near Shin Sen Gumi for that. I want to start this off by saying I can completely understand why this location has low stars. I came to Maritza's line to return a few items that I purchased from another location. She was OK with returning the clothing items but I had a set of four perfumes that I purchased from the Santa Ana location and one of the perfumes was broken completely. So of course I wanted to return it. She initially said she wasn't going to return it and I was completely polite to her and she says "I need to go figure out what to do with this return because we don't normally return broken items at the store it wasn't purchased from". I was completely fine with this until she returns with the manager Diane. Diane loudly said in front of a long line of people. " hon, I'll do this for you this time but we don't take broken items that don't belong to our store" and then she looks at my receipt and goes "it's not even on there" and I said "Well if you scan the receipt and then scan the item will you be able to tell that it's on the receipt?" And she replies with "no the receipt is manual and I don't even think you paid for it" so here I am standing here mortified not knowing why Maritza even had to grab a manager because I wasn't putting up a fight and was completely OK with returning my items back to the other location and Diane is standing in front of me humiliating me with her loud voice. Essentially insinuating that I stole a four pack of small perfumes that is what it felt like to me. This location needs to get their management in check I understand that they go through a lot and maybe people try to commit fraud on a daily basis because I have worked in retail before and completely understand but you need to be able to put your days interactions behind you and treat every customer like an individual not like a criminal. I will never shop at this location. Absolute trash. To add salt to the wound now I have to wait 10 days for my purchase to be returned back to my debit card when all other locations will give you cash back. Does this place need re-training? read more
