Terrible lines. Monday night Dec 5th and only 4 registers open. 60 people in line!!! Slow...slow

This TJ Max is great because it also has homegoods, the few times I've been to the store it's always been clean and the employees are really nice and helpful. I recently went to go buy some picture frames for Mother's Day and had a great experience, even though the line was long it moved fast and this lady named Tina and gentlemen named Gustavo were super attentive and made me feel welcomed. read more

One Star for letting all dogs in. The aisles are tight and yesterday a 2 big dogs got in a fight. Not a good place to shop for seniors or anyone who is a fall risk. read more

This is my second time in a row being harassed by "Minerva" in the checkout line! She's the super aggressive woman who asked everyone in line if they want to open a charge card. This time, after saying no, she actually got argumentative with me! I'm sure she makes commission off of the sale of a credit card, but come on! If someone says no... MoveOn weirdo! read more

Horrible experience here. Came in at 8pm and noticed that there were only 2 cashiers working. Please save yourself. Don't come here. Drive a bit more and visit the Tustin location. read more

I am generally very happy shopping at this store. They have nearly everything you could ever want or need. The staff and friendly, kind and very helpful. The icing on the cake is when I walked in and started shopping and was helped by Alex! I was so happy to see is wonderful and friendly face.....he has come from another location to work at this store.....what a great and wonderful addition to this great store. I would come here all the time if the lines weren't so long! Expect to wait at least 20 minutes in line... no matter when you come, mornings, weekdays, right before closing... sometimes they have someone asking if we found everything okay while I'm standing in line.... maybe you should train this person to be a cashier instead of asking already frustrated people how their day is going. :p read more

About a month ago I was at this TJ Maxx with my mother in law (we are both Latinas). As we walked up there was no line to enter the store and just happen to notice a Caucasian woman enter the store which is how I noticed there was no wait. As we approached the entrance, we were very rudely stopped by the employee handling the carts at the door and yelled at us saying we had to wait- she was Caucasian as well. She was so offensive in the manner she approached us and made it very clear she was racially discriminating us. When I spoke to the manager - she was Caucasian as well, she was absolutely no help. She kept insisting that the woman outside was "doing her job" which I completely agree with had not just seen others walk out. This would only mean that they alone were not following protocol as only 1 person was allowed in and after about 5 other exited we were still asked to wait outside. Not to mention 100 degree weather! I nor any of my friends and family will never shop at this location or any TJMaxx again! read more

My husband works here and he's seriously overworked and under paid. He is constantly scheduled to work shifts that don't have an 8 hour gap between them, which is against CA labor laws. He's never compensated for it either. He's held from going to lunch on time and then his timecard is adjusted so he doesn't have to be paid a meal penalty. This company is breaking laws left and right. I don't shop here because i don't support the way they treat employees. You shouldn't either. read more

Big store combined with tjmax, good selection but they need more tellers the line is ridiculous take so long

They have a lot of inventory which is great and even overwhelming, but their lines are always a nightmare. Not much point to have a lot of inventory if you can't move people through he store. read more

Lines are so slow. Cashiers and staff are incompetent. For large chain store this location is horrible. I can't speak of management because I didn't deal with them but the regular employees are horrible. Don't come here. read more

The most horrible service on the face of the planet. When you get a gift from someone who buys something at the store and they don't give you a receipt and tear off part of the price tag - good luck trying to return it or exchange it for anything. This store is seriously understaffed. The last two times that i went there, the wait time in line was 15 minutes and twelve minutes respectively. Returns and exchanges are in the same line as check out. That means that even one person with a complicated return will slow down the entire check out line. I am so frustrated with this store that I will drive to the store in Irvine rather than waste my time with the Costa Mesa store. This store has really improved 100%. Obvious manager presence on the floor... quick service at the fitting room, and help on the floor to show me where to find what I was looking for. I was worried that there would be a long check out time,,,but with all the people in line, it really only took a few minutes....They were quick and nice. I like to shop the incidentals in the line that leads up to the registers,,,but actually the line went so fast, I will have to go back to see the rest! read more

This is one of my favorite places that my wife shops at. It's ridiculously cheap, but also clean. They have so many odds and ends. I'm not a shopper, but if I must go with my wife I enjoy coming here. The glass swing top bottles are my favorite to purchase for my home brewed beer; however, they work great for milk, water, tea, or whatever you can fit in them. The clothing line can be slightly limited, but when you do find something it's usually a steal. read more

I want the store manager and corporate to read this and understand it clearly!!!I have been shopping in your store since it opened up I am a regular customer I wanted to buy a patio set for my new house I fell in love with one that was in the main center isle By the entrance of the store a big gray one I sat on it to see how comfortable it was an employee told me there was a sign that said no sitting on the furniture but did not stop there she would not stop going on and on about embarrassing me and my son so bad because she was so loud about it I could not even get a word in to say I wanted to buy it BUT then!!!!!she tells me I am disrespectful are you fucking kidding me are you out of your fucking mind!!!!she walks away and then comes BACK!!!!and tells me I can go sit somewhere else that the patio set was 2000 dollars O K ???well so I told her as she was still going off on me that I would buy one somewhere else and she told me YA you go do that so I said I would NEVER!!!shop there again and she said GOOD!!!this is not acceptable and I am calling corporate today and then I am going to post this to every single review website there is!!!! read more

Rude, unprofessional manager named Candi (Candy?) at the helm of this store. It seems strange that she was ever given a leadership role, as she is not up to it. The rest of the staff seems to be friendly and trying their best. It cannot be helped that the store gets busy. The staff tries hard to keep the long line moving! And they are courteous. But Candi lacks manners, intelligence and charm. She regards shoppers suspiciously when they try to make a return-with-receipt, tags still on the item. Not the way to handle customers that you hope will return. With better training, I think Candi could definitely improve and even do well. With honest effort, she could become impressive. But until then she is not ready for prime-time. read more

I have shopped at a lot of TjMaxx and Homegoods before and have had unsatisfactory experiences with the employees and management of those stores. Today something different had finally happened. I was having a difficult time finding what I was looking for and both Tina and Lorena were great help. An extra big thank you to Lorena for going the extra mile and checking in the backroom for me as well. The line was long but got cleared within 5 minutes, can't complain there! Was about to drop $200 on several pairs of shoes, I just needed help, their shoe section was incredibly unorganized and I was wondering if They had more stock of a certain brand in my size. To help them out I pulled they styles I was interested in,. Additionally the same style of shoes were marked with all different prices so I was hoping to confirm the price. I asked one employee for help, they directed me to the front. I then stood in line and the cashier told me she was unable to check her own stores inventory let a lone another stores. The cashier said "oh well this is a outlet we don't do that." I have a hard time believing in 2016, TJ Max does not have the capability especially considering they have a digital POS system. This maybe a discount store but there's absolutely no reason they can not offer decent customer service. I realize this not be the cashiers fault, this could be a training issue but don't give me an excuse and refuse a solution. If this is truly the case, that can not "see their inventory", I am in shock, the only other store that I know incapable of a stock check is the 99 cent store... I went in with about 9 of my coworkers and the boss to pick out things that were going to be going into our new office. We had a great time until we go to the cash register. The cashier there was super rude. We bought things that were breakable and she asked if we really wanted to have her wrap them. We replied yes and she acted like we asked her to do something out of the ordinary. My finger got stuck in their shopping cart, it was hard to unfold the seat part to make room for big things, and my nail ripped off my finger and started to bleed. As I asked the cashier for a napkin, because I was bleeding, she told me to wait because she was wrapping our stuff. Then the supervisor walked by and asked how we were doing. When I said not good she proceeded to not care about what I was saying and when I expressed to her that the cashier was having an attitude with us, she said," Sorry to hear that. There is nothing I can do about that. I was just asking you how you were doing." She proceeded to say that she could not give us a discount on a product that was really dirty but we wanted it. She said things were there because they had a defect! REALLY? WOW!!! Do not go there. They DO NOT know the meaning of CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

This department store has a good selection of both clothing and home goods. I found some great, cozy, comfortable accent pillows for my bed as well as very inexpensive sheets and throws. I was, however, disappointed with the customer service. It was 7pm and no one wanted to be there! The lady who was going through the bedding area seemed annoyed after I asked her if I could give her an item I no longer wanted. And what a chuckle: my cashier must've had a long day because after giving me my receipt she asked if I wanted it in the bag or with me. Weird vibes but good stuff nonetheless. read more

I have been shopping at this location for several years, I really love the home accessories and décor that this location offers. I must say, the selection has improved over the years and seems to be more upscale, nevertheless they have elevated the customer service level as well recently. It is very nice to have associates walk around while you shop making sure our needs as shoppers are met. It seems liken the company is gearing towards a new direction improving not only the merchandise but the store ambiance and customer service providing a welcoming shopping experience. Love, Love, Love this place! The prices are great and what a wonderful selection of items to be found. I don't think a grocery store has some of the spices that TJ has. Sometimes the clothes are in a bit of disarray, but you get that anywhere. And I have to say, if you find something you really like, you better buy it right then and there because likely it won't be the next time you go back. AND chances are you won't find it anywhere else. Their stuff is pretty much one of a kind. Great location and tons of parking. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a TJ Maxx store. We came to the store to exchange an item. Upon entering we asked an employee where we should go to exchange (because some you wait in line and some take you right away at a register). After having to ask him for the second time because he ignored us the first, he advised us we need to "go wait in line." After grabbing the product we were switching we waited in line which took 30 mins due to the fact that there was one register open. Once we finally got to the front of the line after they opened 2 more registers, I walked up to the open one. The employee working the register proceeded to look up and me while keeping her head down and said "I'm not ready for you so..." I said "ok" and stood there waiting for her to finish whatever the hell she was doing and proceed to check me out like any normal cashier. She then looks at me again and says "so you should go wait back in line." At this point I'm pissed not only did I wait in line for 30 mins but I'm now getting attitude from the employee working. After about 2 mins another register opens. The lady barely greets us bc she's too busy speaking Spanish to another employee which I have no problem with Spanish but it's rude when the people around you, especially guest don't speak it. Needless to say this was probably my worst and experience at a tj maxx home goods and by far THE WORST location thus far. I don't recommend spending your money here, I know I won't! read more
