8.29.26 Wow, this is the best Marshalls that I have ever been to. I must also say it's the absolute best shopping experience I've ever had at any Marshalls store ever. This one was so clean and tidy. It was nothing of what I've experienced in any Marshalls that I've gone to on the east coast. They also have a much larger assortment of most items throughout the entire store. Even the luggage section was expanded two days after my initial visit on Monday 8.24.26 The prices are very good with what you see in any of the other stores. The service is fast, but not rushed and very friendly. I was a little alarmed when I got there and saw at least 15 people or more in that long line. When I checked out the line was as long if not longer but it went better than fairly quickly. Added a Samsonite suitcase to my hardly existing travel essentials. Kudos to all of the staff in this Costa Mesa store. Keep doing the great job you're doing that shines through the entire store from walk in to walk out. This Marshalls is honestly pretty solid amongst the rank of Marshalls. The store itself is massive, they have a good amount of inventory, they have decent beauty/skincare from time to time, tons of stuff on clearance. Most of the time, they don't even have a security alarm going off (honestly this is a flex iykyk lol) also, the majority of the store is very nicely kept and organized (reference my photos) Today I found that they recently received a batch of joes sugar free toasted coconut syrup. I haven't been able to find this anywhere!!! For $5.99. It's a steal! If you also have been looking for it to add to your lattes or make dirty sodas out of, I'd make a trip soon because you just know it won't be there for long! I love this Marshalls location! They consistently have good stock on quality items. They also consistently have good skincare clearance :) The store is also clean, neatly organized, and well stocked. The bathrooms are a hit or a miss whether they are clean or not. Also service is inconsistent with positive and negative attitudes. One of my go to stores for all of my clothes, home accents including rugs, on the go snacks, jellies, jams, and all of my bed, bath and beauty products. Some will be the discontinued ones, like Kate Hudson's Juice Beauty hydrating cocktail serum. But I absolutely love coming across great finds I had no idea about and all at great prices! And yes you can bring your man to this one, cuz they not only have men's clothes and accessories, but they also have men's shoes here. It's hit or miss with the women's shoes, but I always have to walk through my size section just in case. I have come across some crazy low priced well known brands before, and it always feels like hitting the jackpot when that happens! read more

Staff was so incredibly rude. Was checked out by Yesenia, very unprofessional. I brought up a hat that did not have a tag on it, as well as a very similar hat with a tag. I explained to her the situation and asked if it would be the same price or can they look it up? Without even a response she scanned the hat with the tag and told me my total and started to turn around to walk towards the back counter. Before she turned away completely, I had told her that was not all of what I wanted to purchase as I had something else on the counter. She once again didn't say anything and looked annoyed, and canceled the transaction. She then rung up both items I was purchasing. She then put the hat that I did not want on the counter and turned again without saying anything towards the back counter with the hat I did want. Not knowing what her intention was because she did not say anything to me, I said excuse me sorry I actually wanted the hat she had in her hand. She was so extremely rude and told me, I know I need to make a tag. I honestly did not know what was going on as she had rung me up and started to walk away without saying anything with the hat I wanted to purchase. 0 customer service and just so incredibly unnecessarily rude. It has been very rare to receive friendly or good customer service at this location, but this is the first time it was this extremely rude. read more

This is the worst Marshall's store I've ever shopped. The treatment of customers by the associates and management here is completely atrocious. I am appalled at how I was treated and spoken to by the management of this store. The first issue I had was when I was next in line at the checkout. The manager was helping at the checkouts due to the long line. She hit the button that says next and what number checkout to go to - the number at the checkout lit up and was blinking, so I went to the checkout. I was met by the manager shaking her head and arms at me saying in a rude, nasty tone of voice, "WE WILL CALL YOU WHEN WE ARE READY!" She proceeded to take another customer and made me return to the line. It sounded like she was scolding me as if I were a school aged child who cut the line! Unreal! The associates at the checkout area are non-stop talking about customers right in front of the customers in line and during the checkout process; they are speaking mostly in Spanish when they assume you don't know what they are saying - I can understand more than you think I do and I know you are talking about me and others in line and you are not saying very nice things. I made a purchase (over $150 total) of 8 items at this store. When I got home and took my items out of the Marshall's bag, I found only 6 items. I immediately called the store about this and I was placed on hold for 23 minutes, then hung up on. I called again, was placed on hold for about 20 minutes. Then, another person picked up the call and had no idea why I was calling. I explained the issue again and was placed on another hold that ended in another hang up. I contacted the Marshall's customer service through their corporate website. The corporate line sent my call through directly to the store where I ended up speaking with the manager who was extremely rude over the phone and blamed the problem on me! She verified that the missing items from my purchase were at the register and told me that they were in a small bag. When I completed the transaction, the cashier only handed me one large bag! I was never given a small bag! How is this the customers fault? She then said she could send me the missing items and in the same sentence she said they could not ship the items to me! She was contradictory and extremely rude over the phone and repeatedly blamed me for the checker not giving me all of my purchased items. She refused to refund me and told me the only thing I could do was to drive back to the store and pick up the items. She also said the only way I could be refunded was if I drove back to the store. I explained to her that I live over 30 minutes away from this location and I would not be driving all the way back there for a refund of $2.00! I would burn more money in gas driving there! She refused to help me. After this phone call, I called the corporate customer service line again and was issued a refund for the items that conveniently never made it into my bag. All this fussing and arguing with the management was over a whopping $2.00!!!!!!! The corporate customer service line issued me a refund over the phone, which was something the manager lady said could not be done. I have NEVER been treated so horribly as a paying customer in any store! This should never happen to a customer at any business! read more

I am a loyal customer of Marshalls for the past 25 years. I had the worst experience at this store. I felt that I was treated like criminal when I tried to return items with receipt. The lady from customer service named Gabbi was examining each item like customs officer and was asking me why do I want to return it. I have the right to return things within 30 days! I understand that they will look for any reason trying not to return the items. I had pants with tags attached and receipt and she said I have to return it to the same store I bought it at. Why do I have to go to that store if I don't live there anymore? I also had a brand new phone cover in the box which I was returning because it didn't fit my phone and she said it was used. It hasn't been used and I just tried it on. It was very unpleasant experience and I don't think I want to shop at this store ever again! read more

I purchased joggers for men for my son's birthday. He let me know that he wears a 2xl instead of xl. The tag was still attached and I had my receipt as I had purchased this the day before. The manager said she couldn't return them because they had dog hair on them. I asked her to show me where because I dont own a dog. She pointed out the most ridiculous tiny little speck. I said seriously? I took off the speck and she proceeded to look for another. Mind you the joggers were black and prone to show little specks. She said that I was lucky that she even considered taking these back! What ? Are you kidding me? He talks over you while you're explaining the situation, acts like a problem doesn't exist just because it's not happening that second, and handles issues like he's trying to rush you out the door. I just love going to this Marshall's. I always seem to find something that I either need or want or don't need or want but get it anyways! Haha! There's just so much to get here, you can get anything from clothes, beauty supplies, cooking, gifts, baby stuff, electronics, car essentials, bathroom and kitchen essentials, pet stuff, the list goes on. I come here mostly for the holiday clothing, I always find cute holiday outfits that you can't find at the mall and they always have the cutest and most unique Christmas clothes for guys and I always get them for my bf. There are also good options for kitchen essentials and at such an affordable price. I've gotten things for storage and to make everything more neat and organized for my fridge and it really makes a difference. They also have good snacks that you can't find anywhere else at a grocery store. I found dark chocolate gummy bears. They also have so many candles, it's crazy but everything looks so cute and festive. Even their gift section is unbelievable, you're gonna want to get things for yourself for sure. I would give this Marshalls 0 stars if I could (and I love Marshalls and TJ Maxx). I bought a dish rack from this Marshalls and it started rusting after literally 5 days of using it. I have 3 young children under the age of 5 so it took me a few weeks to bring it back in and by the time I brought it back in to return, it had been 32 days. Pauline D (the manager that morning) was unwilling to listen to me and instead kept accusing me of causing the rust (huh?). She told me I needed to clean the dish rack daily so that it wouldn't rust (does anyone do this? if yes, what's the point of a dish rack...just use the dish washer). When I mentioned that it was a defective product, she said it wasn't her problem and that Marshalls could do nothing about it. My sister was with me and was astonished at Pauline D.'s combative nature and the lack of customer service. She refused to exchange the product for us or help us. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had and I won't be returning to this store ever again. read more

But mainly wanted to leave this review for the manager from 7/23/24- he handled a very difficult customer who was yelling at the cash register with grace and respect but also with authority that was very admirable. This time my email couldn't find the receipt email so I asked if they could just scan my card and see if they can find the purchase history on my card. I've never experienced an issue at this Marshalls location. I was upset and felt discriminated in a way by the way a cashier in the name of Letty, Betty or Nelly. (Tried to find her name in the receipts, but I guess they no longer state them). To begin with, her character had a heavy vibe, not to mention her facial expressions. No smile, or hello like other cashiers next to her greeted all customers. What really boiled my blood and pissed me off was the fact that all the sh!t my family and I were purchasing was carefully examined by her. As if we were stealing. Making it seemed like we fuxking created the price tags for all our items. She literally looked at every item we had, examined our stuff, the proceeded to check the price. Including our CLEARANCE ITEMS. It made us uncomfortable and honestly we felt like we were being treated as f*#king thieves. When clearly there's camareras and enough staff out there to prevent a price tags change, if that was what she was looking for. When we paid in cash, $20s were given to her and she has the audacity to authenticate every bill we handed. When (correct me if I'm wrong, but it's normally done with $100 bills). I'm pretty sure management stays behind the cashiers in case of such discrepancies, but they don't care of customer service as long as their store meet their quota. Because when I asked if something was wrong after she was examining a pair of jeans I had under clearance for $22 she said I'm just checking in a bitchy tone. When nobody does what she did by default. No managers or higher staff seemed to care after I asked her since they were too busy talking and laughing. My grandmother had cashier number 7, the associate greeted her, and did NOT had her sh!t inspected. Which by the way also had clearance items. Her cashier did not authenticate her bills. I understand that the store is "busy" especially in this time of the year and being careful. Management should walk around more, and be aware of how their associates treat customers differently. She should be thankful for customers, our money provides her paychecks. I'm not the type of person that complains or disrespects store associates, but if she isn't going to make ANY customer welcome then WTF is she working there? When I was a kid, the word "Marshalls" used to strike fear in my heart. It meant back to school shopping, which I despised. To be honest, I'm still not a big fan of shopping for clothes. Maybe that's why I like Marshalls. If you are looking for a particular item of clothing, come here first. Case in point: I was looking for a skinny tie (remember those?) for a special occasion. I hit the thrift stores and the other discount clothing stores but my search ended here when I found what I was looking for. Attention men: this Marshalls has a good casual footwear selection. The last time I was looking for sneakers here I had my choice of many designer labels. Now, I just happen to live close to Marshalls' competition. You know how many types of men's sneakers they carry? Zero. They don't have a men's shoe department. Chances are, you'll find something you'll like at Marshalls. Don't forget to check out the Clearance section. I even like the location of this Marshalls. When you're finished shopping you can walk over to Karl Strauss for a pint. I literally went in and out for a few things. They allow only 129 people in at the time. They have a lady in a sanitation stand counting people. Right up front there were 2 sales associates speaking Spanish complaining about customers (el hombre me dijo que no estaba enferma y que se yo, que se cuanto. La verdad que no me acuerdo bien lo que decía la señora, pero ese tipo de conversaciones no se tiene enfrente de otros clientes, es de mala educación). Also, same girl was lingering by the cash register without social distancing from customers cause she was waiting for her ride. Too many employees were having social hour on the sales floor around customers (in Spanish, I don't need to hear that someone working there was at a party). Conversations that are for the brake room or when the store is close and they are preparing for the next day. Management needs to step it up. Too much play time. read more

Some lady was harassing me and my friend since the parking lot, at the store she was standing infront of my shopping cart not letting me pass. Both employees were very kind, patient, and willing to go above and beyond in providing customer satisfaction. I was accidentally overcharged for an item and unfortunately experienced very rude attitude from a specific employee when requesting for a refund. She even had the audacity to laugh at me. She didn't even get a manager on shift when I asked about the manager. I cannot thank these two men for their attentiveness and apologetic nature.
