I visited right before Christmas and the experience was ok. Parking was a bit challenging but that was to be expected. The merchandising of the store was nice and organized. I found some mugs I thought were cute to purchase. While I was fixing to pick up all 4 of them, one of the store associates plucked one literally RIGHT OUT OF MY HANDS and walked away with it and gave it to another customer!!! I have never had something like that happen at a store like Anthro. Luckily, I was able to find one more of the same kind but the whole thing was so brazen and bizarre. Checkout wasn't too terribly long despite the long line. My mug turned out to be cracked on the bottom when I got home once I took a closer look. I like coming here and browsing for holiday gifts for friends and family. I like to shop here for myself as well but it's hard finding plus size cute pieces. Today's store was quite festive. Given that it's October, all the holiday trees and red bows and gifts sets are out for purchase. I like to do my holiday shopping early before the holiday rush. This place has a lot of good high quality, clothing, affordable accessories, kitchen ware and home decor. They also have very nice fragrant candles for sale. Service was OK. No one greeted me at this visit but that's ok as I was just browsing. I've been to other Anthropologie stores at different cities and they are definitely more welcoming. I went in and asked if they had an anthropology in Pullman Washington. She's like oh I don't know well I think we have one in Washington like but if you have one close to Pullman, she says I don't know. I'm sorry I mean it could've taken her two minutes to look it up for me and be courteous, but she looked me up and down, and I was wearing sweats and a baseball cap so if she didn't think I was worth her, putting an effort into looking up a store in pool in Washington so I just said never mind. I was wearing a shirt and leggings with a pocket in the leggings for my phone so if you really think I'm going to steal something, you're out of your mind. I also had a tiny little purse on my wrist. The customer ahead of me was returning something that was final sale. The lady told her she couldn't return it but ultimately made an exception for her. I had a gift card with original receipt I bought just two days prior at a different location and needed to return it and was told no. I love this store! The ambiance, the customer service, the interior layout and products are all superb. I always find things to buy every time I go to this store whether it be for me or gifts for other people. The customer service is always friendly and super helpful when I'm looking for a specific item and/or when I'm buying a bunch of one item. I recently was looking for a specific dress in my size, and they found one in San Diego. The employee printed the dress information and contact address for the other location. I called the San Diego store, they found my dress and it will be shipped to me soon. The customer rep at that store was just as helpful and friendly on the phone as employees in South Coast mall. The sales are great, especially when they have sales on top of sales. They wrap each item with caution and provide gift boxes for any gifts needing them with tissue paper. Those slick wooden hangers are serious adversaries. The wait in line is because they have to give every customer their best and process all returns right after. I love the whimsical, boho style of the home goods and clothing here. Unfortunately I've fallen in love with many a top here that is silk or dry clean only and I am not a fan of high maintenance clothing. If I can't machine wash it, I most likely will convince myself not to buy it. One of my favorite items I've gotten here was a floor length flowy skirt that was in different colored layers of tulle and wrapped to the back sort of like an apron. I loved that skirt for years! The associates are friendly, welcoming and accommodating. My wife frequents their locations at least twice a month. This particular location is off the heated path on the other section of the mall. I give this place 0 out of 5. Worst customer service ever! I called in to ask if they have a product available at their store, Jennifer put me on hold and told me they have it. I asked if they can ship it to my house and waive the shipping fee if I buy it online because a lady from another anthropologie store that didn't have the product I wanted, told me some stores do that. Jennifer then said in a inconvenient sounding voice, "I'll have to call you back coz we're busy right now!" I told her I was just asking if they do it. Overall, it was an unpleasant call. It felt like it was a bother for Jennifer to talk and help me. Don't go to this store if you want to be treated like you're shopping at Walmart. I came here to return a dress that I had ordered online. When I came to the cashier I told her I had a return online and she started my transaction knowing it was an online purchase and as soon as she saw it was a plus size she said that she was going to make an exception for plus size. She said that they no longer took in plus sizes at this location. It seemed odd that this would be the case, since I found this to be very discriminating. She even told me that it was a company wide policy. So she made the "exception" and took my return, after making me feel shameful for coming with my Plus size dress. I usually hate coming into stores like this with my wife, but this location felt much more inviting so it was actually quite a pleasant experience. Everything is always organized and the team at this Anthro are so attentive, kind and always ready to lend a helping hand when needed. My favorite experience at this location was encountering one of the managers, Lauren. She is probably the sweetest, most joyful human being you'll come cross. This Anthro is just okay. But when compared to the one in Irvine or Fashion Island, it lacks a lot. It's not my favorite location but it's the closest. Even then I would recommend just driving down to the other two. The employees here aren't very helpful or friendly. I once found a top but wanted to know if they carried another size. The employee checked and told me they didn't carry any. Whenever I ran into this problem at the other locations the staff would immediately check other locations for me. The one at Fashion Island even had it delivered for free to my home when they found they didn't have it in store. Another thing that bothers me about this location is the sale section. It's always such a mess. There have been a few instances where I've found shoe marks on clothing that have been stepped. They tend to shove their clothing into the small room and just end up with piles on the ground. I rarely see employees step into this room. The cashier checkout here is also always so slow. I've always found Anthro to have the slowest checkouts but this location is probably the worst when it comes to that. read more

The folks at Anthropologie know how to give good customer service! I needed a top; one with a certain look in a particular size, and they did their magic to ensure that I got what I needed. The process included locating my size in ALL the colors of the same style (to verify the fit) and then ordering just the right top to be mailed to my home free of charge! The only reason I'm not rating them five stars are their prices. They're high enough that I rarely come to shop without a gift certificate. This anthro has gone downhill and fast. I walked in and no one greeted me as I waited in line with three ladies at the register but helping no one. When I approached the register one girl when on her intercom and said can I go home I'm off at 1pm and this is a big return. Then when the next gal was up the lady ringing with an Orange hat said I'm not ready and then said with an attitude now I am ready. I felt so bad for the girl behind me. I understand that there is a lot going on but the store was so slow and the service was still bad. A gal with braids ended up helping me and she was lovely and helpful. This place drives me crazy. This company is going UNDER & fast... Im stressed everytime I shop here. Staff is unhappy, unhelpful & stressed. Other customers waiting in line are stressed... Trying on, waiting in line, purchasing, returning, EVERYTHING is an ordeal. This time I stood 20 mins in line while incompetent associates dealt with god knows what for just about every person in line in front of me. All for $35 candle and a low quality overpriced dress made in China which btw unraveled days later after wearing it once. It's never a good experience no matter how many chances I've given them... The last straw should've been few weeks back when I came in to return a poorly made dress with a broken zipper. Came prepared with my receipt, tags etc that I paid with cash. They proceeded with the return only until the girl opened the register @ the end for my refund and told me they didn't have ANY cash. Manager came and gave me bs saying most people pay with card... Well I didn't so give me my money how I paid & take your shitty dress! Manager said she could only give me store credit & added "We don't keep a lot of cash, we are not a bank". Are you fucking kidding me??? I paid with cash and you're telling me you dont have $135 in your registers @ 1pm so that's MY fault? Unbelievable! On top of that they told me to come back around closing! Yes this actually happened... They couldn't complete my return bc they had NO MONEY! Then acted like it was my fault. Unreal. Came to this Anthro for the 40% sale after the holidays. This might be one of the smaller Anthropologies I've been to. It's one floor and with the crowd the sale brought it was a little stuffy. But that's no reason to deduct a star. Anthropologie is my favorite store. I love their home decor items as well as their kitchen flair. They offer the cutest bowls, towelettes and things that I really can't find anywhere else. It's not easy to buy a few items and not go over $100 in this store. But the quality is there. Their blue lava candle and water lily scents smell wonderful. I've purchased their candles before and money talks because they last long and really let off a beautiful aroma that fills the whole house. I rather have one of these than two Yankee candles. Staff here is incredibly friendly. They make you feel special in the fitting room by always asking your name and introducing themselves. When checking out, it's a nice touch to have your items wrapped with pastel tissue paper and anthro ribbon. Details mean everything! Suddenly paying $20 for a coffee mug doesn't seem too bad after all :) The only negative about this store is that it's usually out of the way from the stores I shop at on the east side of south coast. Anthro is located in the west wing and in order to get here from the main mall you'd have to walk the bridge crossing over. I drove over last time and re-parked. Parking can be hectic in that lot directly right outside the store. That lot is super small but there is a garage with three levels to the left of the west wing that has plenty of parking. read more

So it's black friday and I ended up asking a saleswoman if I needed to wait in line for a phone order. She said "yes, everyone will have to wait today." And i did. For 45 minutes. Despite being suspicious of what she said because I've shopped at Anthro religiously and made phone orders at least 50 times (literally). Then I got to the front cashier and they said I didn't have to wait in line and that the phone order line, which had NOONE waiting in line, was over there (points). Anthro girls, get your sh*t together and be more competent. You guys wasted almost an hour of my day. My advice? Don't listen to anyone on the floor. They know nothing. read more

4 stars for Olga in the fitting rooms. She has now twice "saved" me - finding what I needed. One time I managed to get all jeans in wrong size and she jumped hoops to find the right sizes for me. Today the floor staff had checked the back for my size with no luck, but Olga found it in the fitting room. I do like the clothes but I'm easily annoyed when staff is too busy talking amongst them self about private stuff so this is not my favorite store - except for Olga.
