This target never has anything i need or really anything at all for that matter. The Harbor store is far superior in every aspect.

It's so small. I don't even think it is worth going to. Maybe just for groceries? Anything else, you are lucky if they have it. I was in disbelief at how small this Target is. I've never seen one this tiny. Like seriously, they had none of the things we needed. After walking around awhile and realizing they had nothing to offer us, we left and went to another Target. And found what we were looking for at the other one. This Target is so small that it made me think of that scene in Zoolander, where Derek says "what is this a center for ants!? The people can't even fit inside the building!" Replace the word "center" with "Target" and there you have it. lol "What is this a Target for ants!? The people can't even fit inside." You are allowed to check out at the return and exchange counter, I have asked in the past and they said that you definitely can. I got turned down by the manager herself, while she was just sitting down, let's be real she didn't wanna help me, call it for what it is. Saying that she was only doing returns at the time... I asked the associate who checked me out at an actual checkout stand she said that yes, you definitely can check out right now at the exchange counter. So the manager on duty straight lied.... You can check out at the exchange counter Don't let them tell you any different, not cool of that manager for turning me away. I was there at 1:00 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. read more

First and foremost this target is relatively small and my experience today was more than less than satisfactory. First off all I was there before they closed and I was in there for probably 30 or so minutes and suddenly the lights turned off.. legit just off. No closing announcement, nothing. Couldn't use self checkout obviously so had to get in line. The employees were all rude. I said hey it would be cool if you guys made an announcement before just turning the lights off and this childlike boy probably 16 or 17 chimed in and said the lights turned off, I was like clearly I get when the lights are turning off that you all are closed.. and repeated myself saying you should have made some kind of announcement ya know.. like closing in 5 minutes or something. He repeated we turn the lights off. I was like yeah I got that I heard you.. I'm saying you didn't make any announcement ahead of time. They also had some print out in the isles I was in about spending $25 on certain products to get $5 gift card and I thought I for sure had this in my hand cart.. I also got four items from the section that was on circular tables (pictured) but for whatever reason at the check out I didn't get either. I felt rushed but asked the checker who seemed like a shift lead considering she was delegating someone to get the cash bag or whatever --- and I asked about the discounts. She said no those are only on the app. I typed in my number for my target app and said that it doesn't say in their ads that it's only on the app. She disagreed and I said well I'll take a picture.. so I walked over and took the photo you'll see in the picture shared. So I showed her and she said okay so what did you want to do. I asked if she was going to abide by their ad. She said no. So I asked for a total refund.. having just spent 30 minutes in there and my total $158. I asked her again.. so you're really not going to follow your own ad. She said no I'm not that's why I'm refunding you and was so incredibly rude. Like gf this isn't coming out of your own check. You don't have shares in Target, so weird. Nonetheless she gets on the speaker of the store and calls for a manager.. he came over. I spoke up right away and let him know that they have a sign saying buy 3 get 1 free and that's why I got the little sample size things "stocking stuffers". He said "give her a $10 gift card".. I also told him that they should make an announcement before just shutting the lights off on people. Truly so disrespectful and dangerous to just shut the entire stores lights off on people without having even made any announcement prior. Seems to me like a bunch of younger teens running this store. I appreciate the manager on duty giving me a $10 gift card but maybe retrain your employees on closing procedures and how to speak to paying customers. I'm usually really nice to employees so idk why the cashier caught an attitude with me. I get it was at close time but instead of having 8 people rush to checkout because the lights turned off on them- make an announcement 15 and 5 minutes before so people can come in waves as you close. Bought this cheese tonight at the target on 17th in Costa Mesa and it was expired from February I am glad I looked it was moldy, no FIFO or date checking standards are happening at this one for sure. The person on the right was the manager on duty, as you can see his AirPod was more important I tried to get his attn walking through the door but he didn't hear me, target radio in one ear air pod in the other. Such great service, I did get a small putty gift card thanks so much. Please provide better service and standards from your managers. read more

By far, the weirdest Target I've ever been in. Walmart has a Neighborhood Market and I would compare this to that, but smaller. It looks like it used to be a Long's Drug Store back in the day and the feng shui here doesn't match the typical Target layout that I'm used to. Also, they have a full on beach section in the middle of winter. I only ventured here because I was waiting for Ai Pono restaurant to open up for dinner, but I would not recommend this Target to anyone looking for a normal Target. read more

I wanted to purchase Yuban instant coffee. But the Target store I usually buy from was out of stock. I looked on Target's website and found that this Costa Mesa store had 3 jars @ $6.29/each. I went to the store to buy all three jars. But I also noticed that the price listed on the shelf was $7.39/jar. When I went to the self-checkout, I shared this information with the attendant. He confirmed that it happens from time to time; that there is a difference between a price listed online, versus the shelf price in store. He verified the online pricing with his handheld device and volunteered to make a price adjustment. It's a good thing that this employee had the autonomy to make the price adjustment and offer good customer service. It's bad that Target management allowed this discrepancy to occur. read more

Came here tonight to exchange a game controller. I said I wanted to exchange it for a new one because it didn't work. They return it to my card anyway and I say I'm going back to grab another one. I get my controller and come to line only to have a giant security guard come stand right next to me. The return and exchange line opened up and they said I could pay for it over there if I wanted. As I'm paying targets shining knight comes over and abruptly asks, "ARE YOU TRYING TO RETURN THAT?" 1. I told the clerk I came for a new controller. 2. You see me standing in line to pay. 3. You see me with my debit card in hand. You still think I'm trying to steal? I was back there looking for an employee to help get the controller off the shelf for 5 minutes to no avail but the second you think someone's trying to steal you have staff for that..?! read more

The night before Christmas Eve we were trying to pick up our order plus purchase some last minute Christmas presents. Andy the cashier told us he was new, and was just trained on the cash register. We had some technical difficulties , but Andy was so patient and customer service oriented despite it being past midnight. I shop here all the time but today was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was walking into self checkout and didn't realize that you are only allowed to checkout with less than 10 items. One employee named Willy came over abruptly and said "you're only allowed to have 10 items or less!". Confused, I apologized and said "oh I'm sorry I didn't realize" and he said "REALLY?! cause there are signs HERE and HERE and HERE". I apologized again more embarrassed that he was verbally berating me in front of a group of people checking out and tried to explain I didn't see the signs and that it was an honest mistake. But apparently the kid REALLY NEEDED me to feel even dumber by saying " WELL they have been here as long as I have so" and then condescendingly walks away. It was so bad that another shopper came over and checked to see if I was okay. I'm in hospitality and customer service as well, and would never give such attitude to someone over such a simple mistake. Unreal. Please be aware of who you have interacting with guests. read more

I was able to find what I needed. I got my frozen Amy's dinners I like to bring to work, the elf primer putty I was looking for, a cute dress for summer, some cute butterfly clips, string cheese to take to work for snack, soy lent protein shakes and the always foam infinity pads. I will say the stock can run low very fast on some items but I was able to get what I needed. The other target located on harbor Blvd does have more items but if I only need a few things this one is just closer to my house. The target generic free and clear laundry pods aren't at this location, but the target by UCI always has them. So for that item probably I would get it online as a dupe for more expensive free and clear detergents. Other then that I haven't had issues here. read more

I went into this Target for the first time on Dec 3, 2022. I specifically went in just to check it out. I liked the layout and how well they used the space. The produce area is limited compared to other Targets and there are no produce bags so the bag of grapes I picked up leaked all over some other stuff I was attempting to hold to purchase. Then I see a young 12-14 year old boy zipping around in the handicap cart on a joy ride. Right, I don't like to make assumptions, but there was no cast or crutches and when I looked at him in the eyes...he was brazenly unashamed in his actions. When kids take handicap carts they are not only robbing a truly disabled person from the use of it in that moment but they also use the battery which then in a snowball affect limits the the use of the next person. How do I know this? Because I have had several surgeries and been in cart that dies on me when I am halfway through shopping and then half to spend 30 minutes getting an employee to come to me and track down another cart if they even have one. I have also had the cart die on the way to the car and been stuck in the parking lot with no one to help when I was in a brace and on two crutches. On my way out of the store, I asked security at the door the policy on asking kids riding in the handicap cart to show their disabled DMV form, same as the police would when a handicap person parks in handicap. Security then nervously laughs and says they know the kid can walk just fine and that they saw him out on his joy ride...but essentially they didn't know what to do...because of needing to be PC. OK, I ask, so what is your store policy? Where are the parents of this kid? Why do I keep seeing this everywhere I go? Sorry but if you ever have the pleasure to have surgery or get old and truly need a disabled cart you will feel very disrespected by young kids that think these carts are made for their joy rides! While the security guards were very polite the responsibility of kids using the handicap cart falls on Target as it is their property! So Target, you are getting only three stars, as I want to send you a message that this is not OK! I'm sick of hearing....oh this is a kid just being a kid! Will someone please step up and teach our kids ethics and how to respect other people! read more

I live right by this location and when I saw that beautiful logo - I went in to panic excitement as many of my friends did. I've gone to the harbor one and while it's a bit of a drive - it's always shown up for me. Everything I need - the drive up and pick up is quick and easy. They have the shower curtain I need to the kids birthday gift I'm rushing to buy. This location kills me. PLEASE bring the same crew you did to open the harbor location here. This place is sad. Self checkout is limited to 10 items or less. So you are rejected even if you have just 11 items. They make you go to the one cashier working and wait in line while there are no people at self checkout at all. So much wasted time. Target, unfortunately, never had the hold on me it has on people I've known. The thing that has a hold on me is a great price on something in stock that I can pick up. I ended up finding a deal on a bed recently and thought new pillows are required. The Target app had pillows for $4 in stock so I showed up and they were listed on the floor at $10.10. I assumed it was an app price and walked over to some shirts I needed and the store price was $2 lower. I ordered the pillows for pick up and bought the shirts in store. The shirts didn't fit so I returned the shirts and bought a better quality one tagged at $18 but listed at 20% off. Once at home I noticed the shirt was 50% off. The store itself is small and left me wondering what else belongs in each aisle that I'm missing, it's essentially Target essentials. Overall, just remember to make a cart on the app before you go so you can cross shop the store you're at apparently. read more

I used to be such a fan of this Target. It is a pleasant store with a good selection of things, most at a reasonable price. Good parking. Above all, I could get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. Not anymore. I understand that Target is having a problem with shoplifting, apparently. So now they have closed down the self-check at this store. Unfortunately, the regular checkouts at this store are regularly understaffed, with line management terrible. I think one solution might be to have one line for the checkers, and then just have them call people as they become available. Having a separate line for each checker doesn't work well here. And worst of all, it takes quite a long time to buy a gallon of milk. I don't understand how local supermarkets can still have self-check, but Target can't manage it. I will still use this store, but much less. Too bad to ruin what used to be a nice experience. read more

Hector, Ajani, Aaron, and one female employee opened my brand new ps5. And then refused the return. They asked me to take it to another target in HB and i asked them why? I told them it's their policy that i can take it to any target within 30 days (90 for non electronics). I even showed them their own policy and asked them to provide counter evidence. They refused to do so. It was 4 on 1 and none of them even bothered to review their own policy , but automatically backed up the lies that Hector and the female created. She said she doesn't recall opening the ps5. And Hector said he wasn't there. Which is a lie because she brought him over before they opened it together. She opened it, and Hector verified the contents. They asked me to leave and move to another counter, and i refused because i deserve to get help like every other customer. They gave me guest services number, and i called it in front of them. Guest services walked them through policy and i had to help them do their jobs by checking the serial for them. And finally i was issued a return. They could have simply done their jobs and follow their own policy. Instead they chose to lie about opening the unit, make up false policy, refusing to check the cameras about the lies, and gang up on me. For what? read more
