Tiya is absolutely phenomenal! I've been with her for several years now and am a loyal devotee. She has her own office now in downtown Mountain View, and I am so happy for her! She is extremely strong and knows exactly what she's doing, which is great for people who love deep tissue massages. She does offer Swedish massages too - you can pick from a wide variety of services. Not only is she knowledgeable about her profession, she's extremely caring. She's become like an auntie to me, and I love going in because she remembers me and asks me what's new in life. She is terrific! read more

I am not the type who leaves a review but I cannot not share this with the rest of the world: Tiya's hands are magical! I feel like I am reborn after every session, I look forward to and cherish every minute of my 90-minute session. I have a lot of muscle tension and pinched nerve, I work a lot at a desk which does not help. She is my cure. I am moving to the EC in a few weeks and all I can think of is not being able to go to her. When I earn enough money, I will fly her down to fix my body! I cannot recommend her more, she is super fantastic read more

Tiya does not fall asleep during massages. This may not make sense to those who aren't used to spirituality, but she works to relieve the negative energy (feels like heaviness/life-drain) that a person might be carrying in their bodies. When she works on somebody who carries a heavy pain-body, it weakens her. I have felt pain in the left side of my body for years and had just accepted it to be a life problem. After one hour of Tiya's deep tissue massage, people notice I stand up taller, without my own knowing. I feel more comfortable in my body and now I don't feel the need to numb myself to fall asleep. Thank you Tiya read more

The first time I went to see Tiya was because my back was hurting so much I struggled to get out of bed in the morning. After a deep tissue massage with her, I woke up the next morning feeling fine. I am a powerlifter and had subjected my body to too much stress. I now regularly see Tiya to release my trigger points and keep my body healthy. She is a true expert, I would highly recommend a visit. read more

Wow this was the best massage I have ever had. You can feel the experience Tiya has through every movement. She can find where your pain is coming from without you even saying anything and disperse it. I would absolutely recommend her to my close friends and family. read more

Tiya's has done wonders for my back and neck pains. I didn't realize how stiff my muscles were until I saw Tiya. She explained to me all my problem areas and immediately pointed out the knots I had w/o me showing her. After a few sessions my knots loosened up and I was able to stand up straight w/o much effort. Previously I had to consciously tell myself to stand up straight and would require some effort. If you are in the IT field and/or sit at a computer for more than 5 hours a day, visiting Tiya once every few weeks will do wonders for your back! I would go see her every few weeks for regular maintenance after 1 month of weekly intense sessions to loosen my muscles. And the price is great! You'd normally pay 50% more for this kind of service! Highly recommended! read more

Great, strong touch, specializing in fixing aches and pains. Lovely lady who knows bodies and is reasonably priced. Give Tiya a try.

Tiya's massage helped me solve the muscle pain to a great extent, and very spot on! It's more powerful and efficient than other massages I've done before. read more

This experience was odd... She spent a lot of the time complaining about how tired she was and how she had too many clients. She then proceeded to massage me in a half-hearted way - at some point I even wondered if she had fallen asleep because there was no pressure at all. She then proceeded to cut my time off by 5-10 minutes, which sucked because the 50 minutes I did have weren't amazing. At some point she also burped, which was gross because I could smell the contents of her lunch (I didn't hold this against her, because we all do that sometimes) Also, she said a couple of very odd things to me: "I usually ask before giving head massages, but not for you, because Asians love head massages" Her: "How's the pressure?" Me: "A little harder please." Her: "OH, you're a real Asian! You like pain, I'll break you." Me: "Um." (wtf) read more

Went there for my prenatal massage. She is extremely rude and we got into a stupid argument about me not sharing my personal details on the form. In hindsight I'd have probably filled the form but her arrogance made me walk out without getting the massage. NOT worth it. read more

I won't lie...I am very picky about my massages. All I can say is that you will not find a more flexible, professional and competent masseuse than Tiya. Let her know what is bothering you and she will take care of you. I plan on being a client of hers for quite some time. Thanks Tiya! read more

Tiya is amazingly kind and strong. She knows what she's doing and makes you feel comfortable. If you have questions she's happy to answer you. I always feel better walking out than when I had walked in. She gives you as much of the hour as possible. read more

I got an appointment last minute, i asked her to fix my back, she fixed my back. Also gave me a restaurant recommendation and a suggestion for my sisters wedding. All around top class lady. read more

All I can say is wow. Simple location, lovely therapist and an amazing, amazing, functional and relaxing massage!

When I was at Massage Envy, she was the only person that got deep tissue right. I'm a runner and she really knows how to unlock those muscles. She is awesome! read more

I've been going to Tiya on and off for a couple of years now, and she is amazing! She always knows where I am sore and makes things better, and her rates are pretty good for the Palo Alto/Mountain View area. I find that many masseuses try to offer relaxation, but they don't find the problem areas so I don't end up feeling better. Tiya is able to know exactly where the problem is, and manages to relief the pressure points. She has a no-frills operation, but it's exactly what I need. She also works evenings, so when I'm tired after work, she is a great go-to. I'm going to keep coming back as long as she's in the area! read more

Best massage i have ever heard. All my back pain is gone. I hope we have Tiya in Southern California. She is amazing massage therapist and knows what she is doing. Worth your money and she is the best so far I found. I hope she open one in Orange County. read more

Tiya's has strong hands and is very patient. She takes her time to massage out all my knots. i've been experiencing a discomfort in my leg for over a year, Tiya has been very helpful, and i am seeing improvement from just two sessions. I prefer strong massages, but not too strong where i feel broken afterwards, Tiya is perfect for that. :) read more

Tiya is an EXCEPTIONAL Massage Therapist who takes her time to relieve pressure and stress from your body, and she will leave you feeling PHENOMENAL!! she exercises many techniques that loosen even the tightest back muscles. I feel truly grateful and fortunate having gotten to know Tiya. I have tried many other Massage Therapists, and none of them can provide the top notch experience that Tiya can. I bet my bottom dollar on that! read more

Tiya does an amazing job and always checks to make sure you are comfortable. I went here last-minute because I was in dire need of a shoulder massage due to sore muscles and stress! I emailed Tiya and she emailed me back within 2 hours and also called my cell phone to make sure I knew her times of availability. I went in at 6PM that day and she told me that she had a 7pm so would like to get started right away. I appreciated her letting me know of the time and the 60-minute window I had available. My only regret is not scheduling her for 90 minutes instead! She worked my shoulder muscles -- so many knots. I am a little sore today, but she told me that I would be sore for a day or two -- it is expected when I wait too long in between massages. I am definitely going back!!! Remember to bring cash or check, and tip well because Tiya rocks. :) read more

Tiya is amazing. She has a brief conversation to talk about your pain. Mine has been chronic lower back pain. Once she gets going she isolates the problem and bam! I've tried acupuncture, physical therapy, mattress foam pads, special pillows, etc. But this has been tremendous for me. The price is very reasonable! read more

If your back and shoulders hurt from sitting at a desk all day, you must get a deep tissue massage from Tiya. I have had a handful of massages over the past year to alleviate the nagging pain in my upper back, but they all pale in comparison to the one Tiya gave. It has been almost a week since my massage and I can honestly say that the pain has not come back. Tiya spent the whole hour working out knot after knot. She was able to apply the perfect amount of pressure. She was knowledgeable about the muscles that were giving me problems. She even advised on how I could avoid similar aches and pains down the road. Not only was the massage great, but Tiya was also able to see me on Saturday night at 6:30. And I scheduled the massage on Friday! Price was reasonable and the massage lasted over an hour. I highly recommend Tiya to anyone looking for a great massage at a great price. read more

I can confidently say that Tiya is the best masseuse I know. I suffer from long-term upper back and neck pain, and I have had a wide range of massage therapies performed on me in the Bay Area, NYC and elsewhere. Tiya is neck and shoulders above all of them. She knows how to identify all the pain and pressure points you weren't even aware you had, and gets to work on them from the very first session, which is not always the case with other masseurs. She is also a very nice person, and a great conversationalist! It is very easy to get in touch with her to schedule follow-up appointments, and despite having a lot of clients she always has flexibility. She also does late evening appointments, which is very useful when one is busy with work or classes until late. All in all, a fantastic massage experience. I really recommend her! read more

Tiya is great! She's able to fit me into her schedule on short notice, which I really appreciate. She also works on Sundays, which is really convenient. Tiya always listens when I tell her about the pain in my neck, shoulders, etc, and tailors the massage to my needs. She's also very sweet, very good at what she does, and very reasonably priced. read more

In the heart of downtown this quaint outfit is no frills. That said, Tiya was very focused on the areas I told her I needed worked on and made me feel very comfortable even when I was on the verge of therapeutic pain. Also it was really nice to be able to tell her when I needed to make an adjustment in posture. Sometimes communication isn't that easy. I'd recommend TT if you just want to get those deep knots out. read more

Tiya is the most amazing masseuse I have encountered! She has a healing touch and keeps you informed on what she is doing and listens to your needs. Loved her deep tissue massage and I will keep coming back! read more

I went in for the first time and fell in love with Tiya. She is warm and friendly and makes you feel at home right away. More importantly, she has a magic touch and can pick up on those painful trigger points almost immediately- kneading them down with care. She was knowledgeable and walked me through everything she was doing. I did experience some pain, but simply because I am very tight and my body needs lots of work. The place isn't fancy buts it's very clean and cozy which for me is just fine as what I am looking for is a quality massage. I highly recommend Tiya read more

I dont do many reviews so I like to think that when I do a review it's well deserved. Anyways.. Tiya has some strong hands. I mean, she can really break through those knots and she is very good at finding them. This is not the type of service you get at a fancy spa. No pampering experience. Just straight up tension relief and healing. I was sore after my first session but now im healed and ready to go back. I like to think the soreness was a good sign of a true massage. Just make sure to ice yourself after your first visit. Trust me. I think if I visit her every week for a month, my chronic neck and shoulder pain will disappear. We'll see. read more

Tiya gives one of the best massages in the Bay Area and is the only masseuse who has been able to find and work on my trigger points. It is somewhat painful as she is releasing the trigger point but feels so much better the next day. She is very knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about what she does. She massages with her hands which is much better for your body than other massage places that use elbows. Definitely recommend to try! read more

Tiya has great technique in both prenatal and deep tissue. She is also well versed with trigger point therapy. Am so glad to have found her through yelp and highly recommend her! read more

Very good massage. One of the few therapists I have found in the bay Area who can actually maintain concentration on a troublesome spot and work things out to the end, even in a 3 hour massge. I like that she remembers my body from session to session so that we can make progress on my trouble spots when others just repeat the same routine every time you come. Bottom line, I came to her with serious pain from overwork (arms and hands, upper back, neck) and she is methodically fixing it all. I feel blessed I found her. read more

I just literally got done with a full hour session of deep tissue massage with her and let me tell you...IT'S AMAZING! She targeted all the sore areas... and I mean SORE and had me leaving her office floating in the clouds. She's genuine, tells you like it is, and you could tell that she is very good at what she does. The pleasant chat with her about life stories was an added bonus! She has a long list of loyal clients who have been coming to her for her massages as far back as 2007! That's very telling how much of an expert she is with her profession and how well she's treated her clients. Great job, Tiya! I applaud you! Please expect me to be back very very soon! read more

Tiya has magical hands. Very relaxing and very therapeutic. She was able to take out all my knots and almost put me to sleep at the same time. I was able to get a same day appointment and was attended to right when I arrived. She even gave me a bonus 15 mins because she had time until her next appt. Would def repeat. read more

Your experience at Tiya's will depend on what you value. When I go to a restaurant, I go for the food, not for the obsequious waiters or trendy light fixtures. When I go for a massage, I care about how my body feels during and after the experience. If you focus on the skill of the massage therapist, Tiya's a great option. I've been to several places in the area and none of them have provided the deep tissue service I need for a reasonable price. Tiya is skilled in her craft, thorough, and I find personally pleasant in her sessions. This is a no frills joint, you'll like it if you're a no frills person. TL;DR Avoid if you need to be pampered and treated like royalty, definitely check it out if you're looking for affordable effective massages. read more

I've been searching for years for someone who can address the underlying causes of body pain, so relief from a massage lasts longer than a day. Tiya is the one! Her goal is to make you whole again, with minimal intervention. Tiya is incredibly strong and skilled. While she's working, she teaches you why muscle tightness in a particular area is causing trouble elsewhere - and is delighted to find problems you didn't even know you had. read more

This was my first time receiving a professional massage, and I was thoroughly impressed by both the service I received as well as the post-massage results. Tiya is extremely accommodating, friendly, and attentive to your needs. As for the results - I pulled my trapezius muscle doing pull ups and was recommended by a doctor to get a massage to aid in the healing process. Two days after my massage (after the initial soreness from the massage subsided), my neck/shoulders are pain free and completely mobile. I will certainly be going back for any future healing needs! read more

Tiya is the best massage therapist I have ever been to. This is an overdue review for the last two years I have been going to her. I usually go to her 4-5 times a year when I badly need a fix (usually after a bad day at the gym, or sleeping in the wrong position). Always this has been deep tissue massage. There are at least 4 people that have become Tiya's regulars after I referred them to her. I am actually appalled at some of the negative reviews I see here. True, her place is tiny - I believe she leases a room. True, she talks a bit - I don't mind it; I'm sure she would be happy to let you drift to sleep if you're not interested. But in all of my interactions, I have never found her to be unprofessional. On the contrary, I find her quite knowledgeable as (far as names of muscles go at least.) If you are someone who cares about getting your back or neck fixed at a reasonable price and don't care about whether or not there is a $2000 leather couch in the reception with a complimentary iced-soy-latte, Tiya is the one for you. PS: I work for a well-known Internet company in the Mountain View area that is famous for giving subsidized world-class-massages to its employees. I still go to Tiya. read more

I went there today because I have a stiff neck. I couldn't work at work at all because I was in excruciating pain. Basically could only look straight, couldn't move my neck in any direction. Basically I couldn't work or eat and feeling miserable. I found Tiya on Yelp, since I work one block from it, I decided to go check it out. She's amazing. 5 minutes in, i already felt so much better and deep tissue didnt hurt at all!! I'm a skinny asian girl, and Im terribly afraid of painful massages. It was amazing. After 1 hour, I was able to move my neck again!! Still hurts a bit if i do big ranges, but at least I can work again and sort of turn my head (90 degrees sideway ranges, and 90 degree range up and bottom). Life changing, I def. recommend Tiya. read more

Tiya was recommended to me by a trusted friend. I don't usually go for massages and have had mixed experiences in the past but this was a very pleasant surprise. She remembers her customers, is always positive, and never disappoints. Highly recommended! read more
