Unfortunately, the rest of the experience fell short of my expectations. She didn't seem very warm or welcoming, and the treatment room felt very cold and bare rather than relaxing, soothing, or inviting. I booked a prenatal massage, but it didn't feel like the setup was well prepared for a pregnant client. I was given two very soft pillows that didn't provide any real support. The massage table also wasn't stabilized on the bottom, so it slid when I was trying to get on it, which made me feel unsafe. The massage itself wasn't my preference. Several times it felt like she was about to work on an area with tension or a knot, but instead of addressing it, she moved on. It felt more like my skin was being moved back and forth than my muscles being worked on. Looking back, I wish I had ended the session much earlier instead of finishing it. Overall, I spent $195 on a massage that wasn't worth it for me. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this business based on my experience. UPDATE after response: let me be clear I did communicate during the massage she could do more pressure on my upper body, I didn't know I needed to tell a massage therapist to work on the knots when I said these were areas that needed to be worked on. Apparently I was trying to be kind and instead of reading my review she gave an answer that was to be fair rude and defensive. The rooms temperature was comfortable and the blankets were soft and warm. My main review is for Sara who provided a 60 minute deep tissue massage that exceeded my expectations! Now, she isn't going to be everybody's cup of tea, especially if you're expecting a relaxing pampering massage to fall asleep. I appreciate that type of massage, but this time I came in with acute back pain. She honed in and went right to it. Honestly, at first it seemed rougher, but it was clear her expertise provided the relief I needed. I did not even mention any other pain points but as she worked, she identified three other pain areas that I've been dealing with for months. That's how I knew she has a keen understanding of how the body should move and feel, and the skill to guide my muscles/fascia back to where they should be to be able to function properly and without pain. She adjusted her technique as she felt my body could tolerate (e.g. she threw in some Thai massage technique to lengthen and stretch at the end). After 60 minutes, my pain levels reduced significantly from 7/10 to 2/10. I couldn't believe it! My heel pain of six months was gone!
