Changing my review. I had booked a session at 6PM because I had such bad back pain and needed a massage ASAP. I called and they were able to get me in at 6PM. I got there early to make sure I had enough time to get settled and do check-in--no one was at the front and I was confused since last time there was someone. It seemed they were just chatting the whole time in the back despite me and one other person entering. It became past 6PM and I finally get settled in. I had my watch on and finally I was helped at 6:20. At this point I was just in so much pain and desperate so I waited. They finally started for maybe 10 seconds, only to leave for like 5-10 minutes to chat in the front, then come back. I was hesitant to just get up and leave but I had already waited so long. Massage was okay. Hated it to be honest. I asked for hard pressure and I feel like the person who did my massage last time did a lot better. It was difficult to communicate so I just didn't want to try. I appreciate that even though she wasn't fluent in English, she still tried. However, I think they should provide a whiteboard/pap similar to what other places do where you circle what kind of service you want, pressure, and focus areas. Anyways I finished the massage, feeling kind of meh about my whole experience. It was still $65 for 60 minutes and I was going to tip 30% which is $19.50. This was already pretty generous and what they usually ask for considering I had a delayed and poor service. I just wanted to leave and the therapist kept asking about the tip and insisted I pay an extra $6 because my back and shoulders were "tight". First off, isn't this what massages are for? I don't get a massage because I'm not tense. I get massages because my shoulders are tense, my back hurts, I worked from home, I'm in pain. Massages are literally meant to treat this. Also, I have NEVER had this experience where a therapist asked me for a tip because of that. I've gotten massages multiple times where they have no issue, and do wonderfully, and I always compliment them. This was horrible and I'm left feeling like this was not worth it. I should have just waited a day to get an appointment at Arisa Thai Massage. Anyways, I just wanted to leave because I was so sick and tired of my experience and just ended up giving her the $25 tip that she insisted on. I'm pretty pissed off. Insane. Literally never going here again. I thought I'd give it a chance since it is walking distance and I just really really was in so much pain and desperate. Now I'm out $90, still in pain, and regretful and wish I just had stayed home and slept it off. I thought that my experience would be similar to my last one, but this time I just had a really bad experience and unfortunately it seems my last visit was a 1-off thing. Left feeling like crying because it just wasn't a great experience and that I had wasted so much time and money. I reached out to the owner about my experience and he offered to give me a free massage at the Sunnyvale location. Unfortunately, it had slipped my mind since I was brought into an escalated meeting for work. I was flabbergasted that he said me not showing up was losing money, but I lost money during my horrible massage and experience. I just hung up at that point and didn't want deal anymore. I feel I gave them a fair chance, but nothing will take away from the experience I had at my last massage session. "Losing money".. no.. at least the business got $90 out of me at my last session. It happens. I reached out to explain, yet your response was to say that you lost money because I didn't show up. Please understand: I lost money first--$90 for a delayed, uncomfortable, and ineffective massage. And your concern about your loss over my missed free session, rather than any real acknowledgment of what I went through, only reinforced my frustration. I came to you in pain and left feeling worse--physically and emotionally. I genuinely wish I had never returned after my first visit. While I acknowledge you tried to rectify it by offering another session, your handling of this situation afterward makes it clear this is not a business I can trust with my well-being again. As mentioned in some previous reviews, there is a MANDATORY 30% tip. When I was about to leave 20%, the front desk person kept pointing to the sign that said 30% "suggested" tip and when I said I wanted to leave a lower one, she started having waiting customers try to tell me to leave a 30% tip. Although the massage was decent, I did not appreciate them twisting my arm to increase the tip. If this is a requirement, they should just put it in the price to be transparent about the true price and make the tip truly what it's supposed to be -- an optional reward recognizing the quality of service provided. If you visit, please do factor an extra 30% in the price to avoid a huge argument. read more

Got a notification that my review was being featured so wanted to write an update. I stopped going here because the quality of care between the masseuses was inconsistent and getting berated by one of the owners due to it. The last time I scheduled an appointment specifically with Kelly, she asked me to try with another masseuse. I explained that I had concerns about the quality & she assured me it would be fine. Afterward, Kelly asked me how the massage was. I'm not a confrontational person so I told her it was okay (even though I didn't enjoy the massage as much). She pushed me for more details so I told her that I didn't love the massage and wouldn't schedule with that masseuse again. I was not complaining and didn't ask for anything. But she started berating me saying that maybe I just didn't know what a good massage was and on and on. It was such an off putting reaction to me just responding to her question. I get it, everybody has bad days but if I'm going to get a massage, I want to be able to relax and that's no longer the case here. read more

I've woken up with a neck sore & scheduled a 60 min massage the next day, where I felt so relieved/relaxed afterwards. Booking an appointment was so easy, and they pick up calls really fast as well. I got there a few minutes early for the appointment and there was comfortable seating as you wait. They have water and candy in the lobby. During the massage, the masseuse was respectful of preferences to pressure, and asked if there were particular areas of focus. They did really concentrate on that area. The beds are comfortable, and they even have hair ties for you to tie up your hair. Fully enjoyed the experience and was comfortable the entire time. I said I planned to go back again and again and again. I have done just that. After many, many massages I am even more impressed than I was a year ago. Came by the other day for a massage and it was a fantastic experience! Made an appointment via their website and the masseuse was ready upon arrival! Street parking is available. The receptionist greeted me at the door and offered me hand sanitizer for my latex gloves. The room itself was smaller and older than their Sunnyvale location. The massage table was warm and the top sheet was already pilling from heavy use. The masseuse came in and did a warm up using her elbows without oil. The oiled massage was a nice and strong that started off with the back, shoulders, arm, and neck. The next portion of the oiled massage was the buttock, leg, and calf, followed by a hot towel service. The remainder of the massage was a quick head and scalp massage, in addition to an arm, shoulder, and neck massage with lotion along with the front of the bottom part of the body underneath a sheet. The ambiance of the massage parlor was great with relaxing music in the background. The restrooms in the back were clean, fully stocked with paper towels, and hand soap. $65/hour for a full body massage with a 30% recommended tip in cash. read more

I was about to book for a massage but reading many negative reviews about forcing customers to pay 30% tip due to her low pay to her employees and her behaviors. That's a bit aggressive. Tips based on how their performance and up to the customers. Not by force and demanding. I am a good tipper but this is not a good place to go to. I was gifted a massage for my birthday at Kelly's. I'm going to be a little weak in some details because of that. Tl;dr: this place is great for deep tissue and no frills. I needed to change my time and was able to get it rescheduled a few days out. It took 3 more days to get a written confirmation. I arrived a few minutes early for my massage and was led strait into the room. The tables are not heated and the blankets are a little thin. Generally I was warm enough but my feet were a little cold. The music was basically Vitamin String Quartet and some piano solos. It was pretty apropos that the last song was "the final countdown". I don't think this was intentional. When the masseuse came in there was an ask on pressure level (medium and hard were the only options) and any focus areas. I said medium and upper back. I didn't know what kind of massage was booked, but I confirmed with my husband that it was "st/dt" per the booking website afterwards. The "medium" pressure was pretty intense. It felt like bone on bone several times. I did ask for lighter pressure several times. I almost stopped the massage because it was too much. Once we moved away from my upper back though it was good and I didn't have the same issue for the most part. I thought I was feeling good UNTIL I tried to get off the table. It was painful. And not in a "good pain" way. The pain only increased over the day, and I couldn't sleep on my back. I couldn't get hugs because it was too painful (super fun for birthday dinner that night - not). I ended up with massive bruises all over my back that slowly decreased over a week. This is not my cup of tea, but maybe it is yours. read more

Been to Kelly's on several occasions and each time has been a great experience, but tonight was beyond exceptional - with no qualifiers I received the best massage I've ever had. Tina, the technician was extremely strong and intuitive to where the needed spots were. I like it very deep and usually never receive a massage firm enough to my liking, but I almost tapped out several times to Tina. I think she has a shot in MMA. The session was basically 80% rigorous therapeutic session and 20% relaxing finish. Very sweet, very competent, and very professional - I will definitely ask for Tina again the next time I come back. Unfortunately I forgot who my massage therapist was, maybe Alice was her name. She was very nice but quite simply this massage was far from relaxing to me. It was quick and rough. Yes I spoke up and asked her to be more tender and but I don't think she understood. I booked a one hour appointment this afternoon since I was feeling neck and shoulder pain due to a pinched nerve as diagnosed by my doctor. Everything started off well, but devolved after 15 minutes since my arm started hurting. I don't blame the masseuse for this as it has happened to me at other places. But her English was very limited so I couldn't make myself understood as to what I wanted her to work on. There also wasn't anyone there who could speak English so she called her manager. I explained to her manager the problem and he agreed that they likely couldn't help me so it would be better to cut things short. I handed the phone back to the masseuse who then disappeared out of the room. I sat in the room for about five minutes waiting for her to come back and clean the oil off my back so I could leave. Eventually I got frustrated waiting and went to look for her. Apparently she went to massage another customer and only came out when I called loudly for help. She then quickly toweled me off and went back to her other client. Now I was planning to pay for the half hour that I was there for, but she never asked for payment. I used to get my massage fix at least every other month before Covid. Back in the days, I only went for male therapists at some random locations because that's usually a guarantee for strength (had several female therapists and most failed to relief my pain), but not necessarily a guarantee for relieving knots. I've been to Kelly's once before covid for prenatal massage at their Sunnyvale location. That was great, but prenatal also meant softer massage. After almost two years of not having a massage and sitting for 8 hours in front of the computer at home all day every weekday, my shoulder and, especially, my neck are stiff as a rock. Came here because I was having a massive pain in my neck shoulder joint, and finally got some free time to sneak out. Despite being petite, Kelly's therapist was surprisingly strong. Her pressure was on point, and she pressed on all the right areas with the right strength. She found all the key stiff areas without me telling and worked on them with extra attention. I know for sure she relieved some of the knots on my legs cuz she told me. When I walked out, I tried stretching my neck left and right and realized, whatttt, I could tilt my head back! No, i wasn't able to before the massage because the stiff areas prevented me. I was so used to the stiffness I didn't even remember how it was supposed to feel. The therapist completely changed my impression about female therapists. Not only did she have the strength, she literally did heal my joints! read more

The quality of the massage was good, though there was a lot of focus on areas that I did not ask for focus on. I also wish there was more guidance on what kind of massage to choose, as I had a lot of trigger points that I now realize would have been better suited to a deep tissue massage. Kelly worked on me a couple of times now and she has done miraculous work. I've had chronic shoulder pain (both sides) for over a decade now. She definitely knows where to press to address the issues. I would describe this as more of a therapeutic massage instead of relaxing. Some of the points were intense and painful, but in a good way. She's made more progress than all the chiropractic, physical therapy, and doctor's visits I've had through the years. Two sessions so far has made me 90% better. I'm hoping another session soon will get me back to 100% where I can be free of this chronic ache. Be prepared to leave a significant tip as the masseuses rely on it as part of their compensation. What a great find in Mountain View. I was traveling all day for work and finally got to Mountain View and needed an evening Sunday massage and found the right place. Do no t expect frills, do not expect the most tranquil experience this side of the Rockies, but do expect a great massage. Yeah, you might hear the guy at the front desk asking if he can squeeze in a 30 minute massage before his dinner reservation, yeah there is a language barrier, but yeah you're getting a great session at a great price. I went to this place because of the good reviews here on Yelp. I had pain in my arm. My doctor said a light massage might help. Kelly herself was massaging me. I told her I had pain and just wanted a light massage. First the massage was soft, but she started pressing harder and harder. I told her how much it hurt. I asked her to go softer and use less power. She didn't. The massage was extremely painful. She told me this is normal; the pain is because of the inflammation I already had, not because of her massage. After the massage I had bruises and my arm was inflamed. My arm, neck and back hurt a lot. I was not able to some movements and I was unable to sleep. I went back to the shop the next day. Kelly didn't acknowledge that she did anything wrong. She told me every customer has bruises like this. She told me to use Chinese balm. This was more than one week ago, my arm still hurts and has bruises. read more
