Birria Taco : meat was a bit dry which was disappointing

More like 3.5 stars. The restaurant still seems fairly new and we went during a quiet lunch hour. The knock on the stars is the tap water served. It was not the normal tap water we've ever had. See pictures for taco ratings.

Tipsy Tequila and Taco Bar is the correct word order for this place the drinks come first here. The bar is large and central to the space - this is a place to come for a drink! The have many taps and a well stocked bar. While having those drinks there is some generous and relatively inexpensive Tex-Mex food being made in a kitchen behind a food truck facade. One thing I always appreciated about this place, even when it was Pour House, is how the front is all folding doors so it opens to the outside on beautiful days like the one we went on. It was a fantastic vibe and the classic rock playlist was adding to that vibe. The staff was friendly, the drinks were flowing and the plates were massive. I won't say the food is good here, more like good enough. Sometimes that's all you need. I ordered the mahi mahi tacos and found them a little on the flavorless side, but with hot sauce you can add some flavor. The nachos were huge, but again not too much flavor - the cheese sauce was a bit watery, but the other ingredients do the job. I didn't try the burrito but it looked like it was mainly rice. The surprise hit was the excellent crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside fries served with the burrito. I thought the food pricing was pretty reasonable - not too many places you can get 3 large tacos for under $10 lately. Be sure to check that 4% credit card surcharge - I didn't expect it, but it was added to the bill.

First time coming to this spot. I came here for date night with my boyfriend, it was a Wednesday night and the clouds were rolling in. Just as we arrived it started pouring rain, so we entered and picked our seat there were about 5 other tables fulled. The music was playing at a reasonable volume and plenty of TVs to watch the sports on. Bartender said hello and said she would be right with us. Barbara came over and took our drink order I ordered Prickly Pear Margarita and a Island Breeze both were delicious. She gave a few extra minutes to figure out what we will order. She was very friendly and accommodating. We finally decided on a chicken burrito which comes with fries and a pull pork sandwich with fries. The portions were big, I had trouble finishing my fries and so did my boyfriend. Our over all experience was good. Nice and friendly staff Barbara and Diane. Will be coming back again. This place was clean and the bathrooms are pretty big. Barbara and I chatted for a bit and she thanked me for stopping in and enjoying the rain storm with them.

I came for happy hour with my friends. The food truck mural was cool. There was a good amount of people ( teachers) here so I'm not sure what it's like on a different evening. We had a few issues with my drink. Our waitress and the bar mixed up the frozen and the sugar/salt rims. Not a huge deal when they brought mine on the rocks but I could not look beyond the salt rim and the tajin that some how found its way in my drink. It was awful and had to be changed, which the waitress did with no issues. Once corrected, my drink was sweet and delicious. The chips and guac and salsa were good and guac can get bland at some places but this wasn't. The crazy corn was tasty and the shrimp tacos were good as well. Maybe the waitress was overwhelmed with the crowd. She was a little forgetful with things and didn't check on us when we needed her at some points. Also, had an error on the bill so we had to wait for that to be corrected. Another group came over to us complaining about the waitress not liking teachers. I didn't get that vibe exactly. There were a few obnoxiously loud patrons at the bar but that isn't their fault. Overall, it wasn't bad and I like when happy hour included bites but service could have been better and the happy hour deal for the drinks wasn't that great.

This was a nice cheeky newish restaurant in bell blvd in bayside. The restaurant has plenty of seating and I loved the open patio doors. It's perfect for a summer night with a slight breeze. Happy hour is Monday to Fridays, 3-7pm. 1/2 off appetizers. Tuesdays has a margarita/drinks special all day. My group ordered the wings with chipotle bbq sauce. The wings were juicy, and not too fried. There was plenty of sauce but it didn't taste like chipotle. Just tasted like a semi Smokey bbq sauce. $15 for 10 wings. Decent value. We also tried the gringo taco and the Al pastor. The price was pretty decent. Less than $10 for 3 tacos. I wish the Al pastor had more flavor in the meat and just everything. It wasn't dry. Having hot sauce helped. The gringo taco which comes with a birria consume dipping sauce. The meat had good flavor and not too salty. Dipping it into the consume juice sauce definitely elevated it a bit. Overall, this place was a nice vibe. I'd come back to check out the happy hour. Not sure if I'd return just for the tacos or the wings.

I love the open air dining vibe especially during happy hour! The service was friendly but minimal, and the food was decent. Great spot for chatting and hanging out with bites and drinks, but not for amazing food. The wings (10) were a good size and juicy with wings and drummettes that were slathered with bbq sauce. The al pastor tacos were on the drier side and could benefit from some sauce or fruit inside, although adding some Cholula helped. The "gringo" beef birria was better, with a crunchy corn tortilla and flavorful beef with the consommé dip. If I come back, I'll have to try some drinks! They are presenting themselves as tequila-forward so I'll likely get a Margarita and share how it is.

Took over Pour House. They changed up the interior to fit a Tex Mex food truck vibe. There was one guy working, but he was very friendly and efficient. He let us know to sit wherever we wanted and he would be with us shortly. The owner John Ryan did come around (brought out my burrito) and was very friendly as well. I'm not a fan of tequila, so my drink of choice was the Sun Cruiser. They have a good variety of draft and bottles/cans. The Tipsy Nacho had a good amount of toppings layered throughout. The chips held up decently well. The Ultimate Bell Blvd Burrito with Beyond Meat was a bit bland with the rice but the ingredients are tasty. Ask for some hot sauce (Cholula Orginal and Green Pepper, and Tabasco Sriracha). It came with fries, which I didn't expect. The fries were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. You can ask for some ketchup. Note: there seems to be a credit card surcharge (4%), so be aware of it! Overall a cool spot to hit if you're looking to watch a game and enjoy some filling Tex Mex and drinks. Don't expect authentic Mexican food.

This place has a great feel-mostly because of their open storefront. The staff is super friendly. People definitely come here for the drinks. The food is pretty good for a snack. The sweet plantains, chicken wings & empanadas are solid. The Cuban sandwich was okay. I don't like the pork being cubed up into little pieces. I do not recommend that sandwich, but I do recommend this place to gather, drink and nosh.

Was very excited to try Tipsy Tequila. Stopped in for dinner and drinks on a Friday evening after work. The drinks were great, but unfortunately the greatness stopped there. Service was incredibly slow - including ordering a drink and waiting 30 mins for it to come to the table, and only after reminding the wait staff. The food was okay - nothing to write home about - we had the nachos as an appetizer and a I had a chicken burrito. The chicken was interesting - more shwarma/gyro like than Mexican, and the rice in the burrito was flavorless. I will say the fries were out of this world delicious - super crispy. But what Mexican spot doesn't have guac available as an app?! Not opposed to trying again after they've been open a bit longer, but first visit didn't live up to expectations.

Great new place on Bell Blvd Bayside! Great decor and atmosphere. The food is delicious and surprisingly affordable. We haven't been there for drinks yet but the Mexican food choices are tasty and freshly made. The Gringo Birrio tacos are incredible. Service was friendly and definitely not rushed. Highly recommended.

This was my second visit, and unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the first experience. Most of the dishes were overly salty and dry this time around. The al pastor, which I really enjoyed on my previous visit, was especially disappointing. That said, the service remained excellent, friendly, and accommodating throughout. I just wish the kitchen had adjusted the menu or preparation a bit to maintain consistency. Hoping it was just an off day.

Coming back here after years and knowing it by so many previous watering holes; Tipsy Tequila is a nice addition to the strip. Staff was so genuinely kind & made sure to check in, the drinks were on point (ask Jack for the Coconut Margarita- I was impressed at the care he took making each drink perfect!) and the food hit the spot. I know it's usually sacrilegious to eat crunchy tacos, but you know what, I cleaned my plate and will 100% be coming back to try out more dishes & cocktails!

The real star of the night was Joyce behind the bar. She's the kind of bartender who instantly makes you feel welcome, like you've been a regular for years even if it's your first visit. She knows her drinks, makes amazing recommendations, and somehow keeps the energy fun and relaxed even when the bar gets busy. You can tell she genuinely cares about people having a good experience, and that kind of service is rare. Her gin and tonic was perfectly balanced -- crisp, refreshing, and honestly one of the best I've had. And the green tea shots? Dangerous in the best way possible. Smooth, flavorful, and way too easy to keep ordering because they go down so well. Joyce makes them with consistency and a little extra flair that makes the whole experience feel special. Food-wise, I highly recommend the pork dumplings -- flavorful, perfectly cooked, and the ideal pairing with drinks. Everything just worked together: great food, great drinks, and even better hospitality. Joyce truly elevates the entire atmosphere at Firefly, turning a normal night out into something memorable. If you're going, sit at the bar, trust her recommendations, and thank me later. 10/10 experience -- I'll absolutely be back.

Our server was very pleasant and happened to be the only one working at the time, though with so few guests, it seemed to be all that was needed. We ordered the three-course lunch special. One set included the meatballs to start, followed by the chicken Parmesan and bomboloni for dessert. The other included a Caesar salad, tagliatelle Bolognese, and tiramisu. There was a bit of a longer-than-expected gap between the appetizer and the entrée, especially considering we were essentially the only table being served, as the other guests had already finished their meal. That was a little frustrating. Aside from that, most of the food was solid. The only real disappointment was the chicken Parmesan, which was quite overcooked. It was unfortunate given that the kitchen was only cooking for the two of us. That said, the mashed potatoes, an unusual pairing with chicken Parmesan were excellent: perfectly creamy and incredibly smooth. The tiramisu was also quite good, but the real standout was the bomboloni. I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed them, since fried doughnuts wouldn't normally be my first choice for dessert. I would definitely return.
