Service was good, they put the basketball game my son wanted to watch on the TV. They were decorated for St. Patrick's day. Their frozen margaritas are a tad sweet, but good alcohol content. I got the shrimp ceviche off their Peruivan menu, lemony and good crunch with the red onions. It came with sliced plantain chips. The table got the steak super nachos, filled with ingredients and flavor, the jalapeños gave the extra kick of spice. Also ordered the paella and shrimp al ajillo. Good portions and flavor. They surprised us with a tres leches cake, sombrero, and shots on the house for my birthday. Total came to $193 after tax, tip, and 4% charge for using a credit card. Still recommend for folks who want a good meal and experience.

We also had Margaritas one with salt one without salt, tasty. Nice big spot tables in the front and also a larger area in the back. Spacious bathroom and very clean. Greet as soon as we walked in. Very friendly staff. Also you can sit at the bar, it's a nice long bar with plenty of seats. Music was playing and it was at a nice volume, so when you were eating and chatting you could hear each other.

I had the taquitos with chicken. They were very good. The chicken was tender and the meal was very tasty. My friend had the chicken Mole. She indicated that she's traveled all over Mexico and never had such a great chicken mole dish. The fried ice cream was decadent. The karaoke, which started at nine, was a lot of fun! There were songs sung both in English and in Spanish. There was actually some really good talent and the host / DJ kept the party going. I am definitely going back to Mama Rosa's for an authentic Mexican meal. I'll also plan to go back on Friday nights for the karaoke.

Just don't. Horrible customer service…read more They also have no idea what's going on. Called to ask for any specials and was told they don't have any. But the website says they have happy hour. Went in but one of us had a baby and they denied us service! They refused to seat us at the bar which is part of the happy hour. I mean, what baby is drinking at the bar?!!! Incredibly silly and unprofessional. Fine they don't want to seat the group at the bar because of a baby, at least offer the happy hour at the table that we were forced to sit at. No they didn't. We left. This isn't how you treat customers. People go out to eat to relax and have a good time. There are plenty of restaurants nearby with warm ambiance and great food options. This place was not it. I bet the food is probably horrible, hence the happy hour to get people in the door. Bad staff. Bad place. Go somewhere that cares for their customers.

Not fluent in English, but very friendly service. They have an extensive menu! They give complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is a sweet tomato-y salsa and the chips are crisp. The Chimichanga with Cecina (Salted Beef) was stuffed! Crisp fried exterior, covered in flavorful red (tomato-y) and green (herb-y) sauces. The cecina is perfectly salted. I enjoyed the guac and chips (same as the complimentary chips) and pico on the side added freshness. They also have a house red and green sauce, which have a good kick and flavor to them. The Pineapple Juice is the right amount of sweetness and tart. I like that there's no ice so it's a full glass of juice! Overall a neat local spot to hit up for good food and friendly service (and a full bar!).

Surprisingly, it is a dish that is hard to find in the Flushing/Fresh Meadows area especially in a sit down, comfortable restaurant. The Chilaquiles was a nice little plate of deliciousness - I loved the tangy green salsa soaked bed of tortilla with nicely fried over easy eggs (they way I ordered it). A fan of avocado, tomato and onions top the dish as well - it comes with a side of rice and beans. I recently returned when I was in the mood for enchiladas - they have combo option with beef, chicken and cheese. I ordered them divorced style with both red and green salsa. It comes blanketed with a shredded lettuce salad with tomato, onions and avocado. Rice and beans round out the dish. A couple of other dishes I tasted were the eggs with chorizo and the chimichanga - both were very good. I love their house salsas both a dark red and green one. They bring out tortilla chips with a thick salsa that is tomato-ey sweet. They have a full bar if you are so inclined and the service is very good here.

The worst part first: The check comes and there is no detailed receipt breakdown, only two receipts both with the subtotal only and three "suggested tip" amounts of 18% through 25%. The total looked high for the two of us. I asked for the receipt details with food prices and when she brought it over, there was already an 18% tip added!!!! For a party of TWO!! That is a non starter. They said the owner decided this was the way he wanted it.l done. There is not one restaurant I have EVER gone to that would add a tip for TWO people. I would have tipped that amount anyway but the waitress brings over a blank receipt with MORE "suggested tip" amounts and does not tell me it was automatically added? Nothing in the the menu about tips automatically being added??? Any PROPER respectable restaurant puts that information in writing AND would write "additional tip" on the receipt so the customer knows tips are already added. Absolutely trying to dupe the customer out of money. Unacceptable. Someone came over and said "the waitress is new and she did not know"... that's a bunch of BS because there are certainly the other things I mentioned above that they should ALSO be doing to prevent their customers from overtipping 36% or more. Now add in the fact the fajita vegetables were burned black. I asked for pickled jalepenos twice only to get fresh jalepenos and after a THIRD time, I got the pickled ones I asked for. I asked for black beans, and she repeated it back to me when we ordered, and I got pinto beans. Terrible customer service and absolutely deplorable management to add pre set tips and not change the receipt to read "additional tip". That ONLY means they are aware and they hope you don't look at the bill and overtip. Deceitful. If you choose to go, be sure you ask for a detailed receipt and be sure you don't add additional tip unless you want to. They are lucky they took the 18% automatically because after that stunt, they would have gotten nothing.
