Came again a few weeks ago, so need to give them the props they deserve. No doubt I come here for their tacos more than anything else. My favorites include the Lengua (beef tongue), Oreja (pig ear), and Camaron (shrimp). The Al Pastor and Carnitas are great too. All their tacos are always filled to the brim, which is appreciated. I do like their freshly made Guacamole and the Seafood Soup too. However, not a big fan of their cemitas or fluetas. Regardless, most of the food is quite excellent. Open early and close late, this has been a staple in my Mexican diet over the years in the Jackson Heights area. The decor is festive and the service is always friendly. I will continue to visit this Mexican restaurants for my taco fix.

The tacos were memorable since it wasn't two separate entities of food plus the taco shell- it felt like one entity where the filling blended in with the shell and the shell coated the food so perfectly that the meat and flavoring melted into your mouth so well it vanished in an instant. I mixed the red salsa with the sauce it came with and it had a good spicy kick that eventually went away but it was delicious. We also got two cocktails- the pina collada and I got a strawberry mezcalita. The drinks were strong but still tasty, not too bitter to swallow and the music they were playing were catchy and nostalgic. we also got churros with fudge chocolate that came out warm and crunchy. the prices weren't crazy for the size of the food and it is definitely à la carte but it was definitely a night to remember.

Although the al pastor is not cut fresh off the spit, it was still moist and crisp. They put slices of radish and cilantro on top. Chorizo is hard to mess up but with the cilantro and onions, it was perfect! But what really makes their tacos special are the corn tortillas. They must dip them in the meat drippings and then throw them on the grill because they are extra delicious. Their sauces are excellent too. As a longtime resident and foodie of the world's borough, I can tell you that Tacos 3 Hermanos will NOT disappoint and will leave your taste buds completely satisfied. I've passed by this food truck almost daily during my commute to work on the busy Jamaica ave and finally decided to stop by today for some grub. I usually get tacos from a taco truck (duh) but settled for a torta de bistec today and boy oh boy was it worth it. The bread was fluffy and crisp, toppings were fresh, and the steak was packed full of flavor. They have a selection of additional sauces to choose from if you so desire, verde, rojo, and some chilis. And what better drink to wash down this mouth-watering meal than a Jarritos of course. If you're in the mood for some good tasting, decently priced Mexican street food, then look nowhere else and check out Tacos 3 Hermanos, you will not regret it!

Even though this vendor sells tacos pequeño (small tacos, 2-3 bites), they are $3-4 each, which is not cheap. For that reason, I can't give them 5 stars. It's quite pricey considering that most full size tacos are selling for about $4.50-5.50 nowadays on the streets, but double in size. With that said, I appreciate the smaller size for me to enjoy more variety every time I stop by. My favorites change from visit to visit, but generally I always get Suadero (roast meat), Campechano (roast meat & sausage), Buche (pork stomach), Cabeza (beef head), and Lengua (beef tongue). I also like the extra weird parts like Cesos (beef brain) and Ojos (beef eye). However, the texture is very mushy and definitely not for everyone. As accompaniments, for every two tacos you order, they also give you a long stem onion that is quite tender and delicious. On the down side, instead of the traditional lime and radish that most places give, Tacos El Borrego offers lemon and cucumbers. I'm not sure why, except maybe they are cheaper options than the normal garnishes. Also, don't forget the flavorful green and red sauces on the table if you are eating there. Otherwise, ask for some to go. I miss the days when our group of friends would get a few tacos late at night after a party or night out drinking. The prices are no longer the same, but the food is still perfect for sobering up while having some laughs on the streets during the warm months. I think back to those days fondly whenever I'm at a taco stand nowadays, and Tacos El Botrego is one of my favorites in NYC.
