We went during happy hour (3-7) and ordered two sets of 3 tacos with a chicharron de ceviche. We got steak and pork tacos. They weren't juicy or tender, but were still good. The chicharron was okay but the tacos were good, especially for their price of 2 dollars each taco. The service was okay but we had to wait a long time to get our food. I would definitely come back during happy hour for those tacos though.

Soon as we walked in we were seated immediately and tended to which I really enjoyed. The restaurant is decorated with colorful skeletons and gives very much a party vibe, as the night went on the restaurant came to life with different colored lights on and good music playing. We got a pina colada, the first time it was brought to us it tasted like just water and liquor, we let the manager know and he quickly fixed it for us with no hesitation! Making sure that the second one was to our liking so thank you for that! The enchiladas suizas were sooooooo good. I am still thinking about them as I write this review. I will definitely be stopping by to pick some up again very soon. If you are in the neighborhood looking for a cute date night make sure you put El Patron on your list.

Decided to try this restaurant due to TikTok and it looking like "authentic Spanish" food. It is all HYPE, this restaurant gets 1 star for the ambiance, the music and the drinks.. The couple NEXT to us, gave us napkin to stuff the table so that it could stop wobbling, because when requested a new table they were allegedly were all "reserved". THE FOOD is where everything went wrong, the wings were undercooked, very gooey, the nachos the cheese was movie theater cheese sauce, the jalapeños were cold like frozen tempted, the mussels were decent, but the steak had absolutely no flavor. Highly would just come here for drinks and music. The bill had the gratuity already added, our servicer did apologize for us not liking the food, but not even a discount?? We BARELY touched that nasty food, it was genuinely just a waste of $$$.

First of all the drinks at El Patron are always good. I'm not a real drinker but I love Frozen Drinks & they are GOODT!!!!. The food was good too it's a Mexican restaurant that also has Colombian dishes as well. They have a good vibe everytime I'm there. I would recommend.

A friend and I went to el patron for happy hour. We sat at the bar. We had wings and sangria. The wings were ok and the sangria was watered down. I've had better. Upon getting the bill and looking it over I noticed it said "girls back" so I asked if that was indeed our check and cindy replied yes. I asked what did it mean by saying girls back and she started stumbling on her words trying to say it let the staff know who's receipt it is. I replied with...we are not in the back of anything...we are at the bar..and the only 2 girls at the bar...soooo tell me am I tripping...or does it seem a little more the R word?

You get complimentary chips and salsa. The mango honey bbq wings were really good. The skirt steak with white rice and salad was good. It comes out on a sizzling pan. All of the food was hot and fresh. The service was good. There was an 18% gratuity included so be mindful because the bill has a tip line although it's included already.

Decorations - The image shows the interior of a bar with a neon sign that reads 'Save Water Drink Tequila' mounted on a dark ceiling. The wall features colorful artwork depicting a skeleton figure adorned with flowers and jewelry, with the words 'El Patron' visible. There is an air conditioning unit above the glass door, and reflections of the street scene can be seen through the glass. The lighting includes purple and other colored lights, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

Skirt Steak and Shrimps

I will start by saying the drink menu is fascinating. They have specially made Patron drinks which are really cool . I tried the tostones appetizer that is served with guacamole, steak , chicken and white sauce . Although the condiments were tasty I will have just tostones the next time . My entree was Skirt Steak and Shrimps - cooked perfectly and seasoned tastefully.

Not fluent in English, but very friendly service. They have an extensive menu! They give complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is a sweet tomato-y salsa and the chips are crisp. The Chimichanga with Cecina (Salted Beef) was stuffed! Crisp fried exterior, covered in flavorful red (tomato-y) and green (herb-y) sauces. The cecina is perfectly salted. I enjoyed the guac and chips (same as the complimentary chips) and pico on the side added freshness. They also have a house red and green sauce, which have a good kick and flavor to them. The Pineapple Juice is the right amount of sweetness and tart. I like that there's no ice so it's a full glass of juice! Overall a neat local spot to hit up for good food and friendly service (and a full bar!).

Surprisingly, it is a dish that is hard to find in the Flushing/Fresh Meadows area especially in a sit down, comfortable restaurant. The Chilaquiles was a nice little plate of deliciousness - I loved the tangy green salsa soaked bed of tortilla with nicely fried over easy eggs (they way I ordered it). A fan of avocado, tomato and onions top the dish as well - it comes with a side of rice and beans. I recently returned when I was in the mood for enchiladas - they have combo option with beef, chicken and cheese. I ordered them divorced style with both red and green salsa. It comes blanketed with a shredded lettuce salad with tomato, onions and avocado. Rice and beans round out the dish. A couple of other dishes I tasted were the eggs with chorizo and the chimichanga - both were very good. I love their house salsas both a dark red and green one. They bring out tortilla chips with a thick salsa that is tomato-ey sweet. They have a full bar if you are so inclined and the service is very good here.
