I was in the neighborhood and was looking for something vegan to eat & found this amazing restaurant. I ordered the seitan burrito & it was amazing. You have the option to get either rice or beans, or both. I got both. It was very filling and the seitan was season to perfection. They also have tofu sour cream in the burrito. I love that. Nice little restaurant in the middle of the block , I actually Yelp this place up. It was the closed Mexican restaurant around my area. I decided to give them a try, I called to order at first, it was sad to be notified that they don't deliver more then a certain radius. The delivery guys don't drive they deliver by foot or bicycle. I was 0.9 miles away, which they decline delivery. What the hell, I decided to go pick it up myself, not gunna judge base of delivery options. I ordered their tacos and quesadilla along with the guac and chips as a appetizer. Food was on point very authentic. I love the texture of the taco, and a quesadilla was delicious. While in this area of Queens you don't have too many choices for authentic Mexican food. Well once I ordered from here and then a day later ordered again, I am very pleased with this place. Ordering from a Resturant can be tricky when it comes to getting extras or removing items from an order, but they did so well making sure to follow directions. I ordered the camarones burrito (ITS HUGE....or shall o say a decent size!!!) and had vegan cheese in place of the regular and ceviche each time. They were both delicious each time!! I wish I could figure out a way they could wrap the burrito in something rather than just the tin because the tortilla gets a bit wet. Had to "George foreman" it a bit to add some crisp to the tortilla. The ceviche was really delicious. Taste very fresh and enjoyable. Once I can have a dine in experience I will hopefully be able to give them a five star rating!!! All in all, this place is delicious with reasonable prices. I will be back! read more

Mixed thoughts on my present order. First to order on line is useless. Had to call at least 10 times to actually speak to someone. Delivery was very quick but the food, I don't know. The guacamole was amazing as well as the nachos. The ceviche was not with it. Did not see or eat seafood. And the bowl it came in had too much sugar. The fish tacos smelled bad and not tasty. I have ordered from here twice after my first review and I really want to love this place but it falls short for me every single time. I was really craving some real tacos tonight so we ordered the: carne asada tacos Carnitas tacos shrimp taco Guacamole and chips Chicken quesadilla Cheese quesadilla Burger with fries The shrimp was yummy. Nice flavor and wasn't dry. The steak and pork were both the driest, blandest tacos I've ever had. Now I've had some good homemade carnitas before and this was like eating sandpaper. I am so disappointed. The quesadillas were good. The guacamole was good as well. Nothing really WOWed me and made me go "mmmmmm!" The toppings were minimal. Good portions otherwise. Anyway. I guess if I was ever in the mood for a quesadilla or a shrimp taco, I would stop here again. But I would never order another taco and that's really what we're here for isn't it? I just love family-run authentic ethnic restaurants! Fidela's has been on my radar since they opened and I finally went since I was in the neighborhood for a dentist appointment. Plenty of street parking; some paid meters. This is more of a takeout place than a dine-in restaurant; although if you'd like to dine-in (post Covid19), they do have a few tables. This was the most calm, demure, and efficient Mexican restaurant I've ever been in. I appreciated the stress-free takeout experience, during Covid19! Fidela's has a pretty good variety of offerings on their menu. So many choices; they ALL sound delicious. On this visit, we opted to try their quesadillas and tacos. Tacos: I really appreciated that they wrapped each tacos in a way that any excess liquid will drip inside the wrapping and NOT make a huge mess. Honestly, these are probably the neatest tacos I've ever eaten! haha Also, the filling in the tacos were VERY generous! We tried 3 kinds and each kind was delicious. Each taco comes with a wedge of lime. Tacos we tried: ~ Carnes Asada (grilled steak) - $3.50 ~ Barbacoa (slow cooked goat) - $3.50 ~ Al Pastor (pork w.pineapple) - $3.00 Quesadillas: They have "Traditional" Quesadillas (made with fresh corn tortillas) and "Synchronized" Quesadillas (made with flour tortillas). We tried two of their traditional quesadillas; both were fresh and tasty but a little bit messy to eat. The fillings in these quesadillas were not as generous as the tacos but still delicious. Quesadillas (traditional) we tried: ~ Tinga (shredded beef brisket) - $3.50 ~ Huitlacoche (corn mushroom) - $3.50 Hot sauce: they offer 2 kinds of sauce; both served on the side. Fidela's is the sister restaurant to De Mole Astoria (not sure about the other De Moles in Woodside and Bklyn) that opened in this area a little more than a year ago. This hole in the wall is a Godsent in this immediate area of Queens lacking great dining options, never mind fantastic Mexican food which Fidela's certainly and consistently delivers. Lately I have been ordering here weekly because although so much of their food is great it is the pierna torta (braised pork leg) that I have become obsessed with - this is a packed sandwich with pork that is oh so good. Smokey, porky, slightly bacony, perfectly seasoned and juicy pork is out of this world. Before I stumbled upon this torta my go to was either the tacos or burritos. Lately I've been enjoying the shrimp with vegetables burrito - its a bit of lighter compliment to the pork torta where I will order both and make 2 to 3 meals out of it (yeah, they are that generous). I ordered the nachos for the 1st time today and was pleasantly surprised that this was more of a constructed 7 layer dip in the sense that the nachos were perfectly positioned on a solid base of creamy black beans and cheese with dollops of pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. All really fresh and really good. If you are vegan/vegetarian you have thoughtful options here. The seitan (hehe.. Satan) burrito with spinach and tofu sour cream is satisfying delicious where you won't miss the meat. The sauteed garlic spinach quesadilla is packed with so much green you will believe you just erased a months worth of food sins after you finish. The flor de calabaza (squash blossom) is another interesting delicious choice. Love their aqua frescas as well - hibiscus or tamarind (my preferred) are light and refreshingly not too sweet. I had attended an event in nearby Electchester, the union co-op that has continued to do well since it was opened post World War II under the leadership of Harry Van Arsdale, who wanted electricians to have a comfortable community ("chester" in the name connoting the sense of middle class respectability). I was wondering where I could eat that would not be too expensive or too unhealthy. I had made plans for the evening, to eat clam pizza at a joint that boasts their pies are "life changing." (Report forthcoming.) This was an easy seven minute walk, a stroll. They were preparing a take out order for someone when I went in. It seems they do quite a bit of that, carry away. A family with a child, a screaming one, came afterwards. That indicates they are family friendly. I had a cheese tamale and the spinach quesadilla. I added hot sauce. They had two options, stronger and milder. They looked homemade, in plastic squeeze bottles. The spicier suited me. The best aspect of the meal was the value. The day before, I had a fast food chain meal, and I was shocked at the price; that was a bad deal, and I don't intend to try it again (Carl's Jr., fish sandwich). This came in at less, for fresh prepared, sit down casual dining. I rely on Yelp to guide me in unfamiliar neighborhoods. This was not even in the feeds or anything of that sort. The tacos, rice, and other side dishes were super amazing. Ultimately, the flavor profiles were solid. (I still have my favorite). In an area that does not have too many options for Mexican food, Fidela's Restaurant offers a variety of Mexican dishes that fit your cravings. From tacos to enchiladas to tortas, Fidela's has something for everyone. I had a carne asada burrito along with a grilled chicken quesadilla (The quesadilla I got is one of the sinchronizada ones on the menu). First thing that sticks out to me are the portion sizes! The burrito is huge and it is quite filling on its own. The quesadilla is decently sized as well and perfect for sharing with someone else. They also provide salsa roja and salsa verde on the side, so that you can add some heat to your food. The burrito was quite good, as the carne asada was full of flavor and had the tiniest kick to it. There was also a hefty amount of rice and beans inside, which was good, but definitely needed some of the salsa to kick it up a notch. Both salsas weren't too spicy and the salsa verde gives a nice tang to your meal. The burrito is definitely worth your money and you won't have to worry about still feeling hungry after you're done. There's also some pico de gallo on the side, so you get a bit of added crunch to the burrito. The quesadilla was solid, though I couldn't taste much of the cheese at first. The quesadilla was stuffed with lettuce, chicken, cheese, and pico de gallo. The chicken was seasoned well and had good flavor, but it never hurts to add a bit of salsa. Time-wise, it didn't take long between placing an order and receiving our food, maybe 15 minutes in total. Everything was also neatly packed into separate takeout containers, so nothing spilled on the way back. Overall, Fidela's Restaurant is a good option if you need to satisfy your Mexican food craving. Authentic Fresh Mexican Food. I had 5 tacos each one a different flavor. They all tasted good but similar to each other. The meats were dry though, the hot sauce and lime juice greatly made it flavorful and delicious. It felt like it was missing something though and I could not put my finger on it. After I was done, I remembered that there was no salsa, guacamole, sour cream. I would have paid extra. The tacos were filling. I got full after 3 , and I eat a lot of food. I ordered from here and had a good experience. There is no parking lot but there was available parking on the side street. They have a couple of seats inside and the service was very quick! I had ordered some nachos. They were not worth the price but good otherwise. A small tray with a few chips that had guacamole, sour cream, salsa and beans. But not enough chips to eat all of the sides that came with them. I also ordered 3 tacos. Each taco costed $3.00. Which I think is fair. They were good but not amazing. Convenient spot in the neighborhood if you're craving tacos. Placed an order to go and waited about 15 mins for our order to be complete. The cashier girl was very nice and patient. Presentation was super. When I got my food I was pleasantly surprised to see the tacos wrapped super neatly and labeled!! I really appreciated that as it helps to distinguish which taco is which and makes it easier when you make orders as a group. I love that they give plenty of limes (1 per taco!!) and hot sauce. -1 Star because the meat for all the tacos were dry all across the board. I went there last Taco Tuesday with a friend who recommended it. Worst mistake ever. I mean the lady at the register was pleasant overall - not rude and explained different menu items well but I was underwhelmed by the food. Like it was literally the worst quality tacos I've ever had. There was more vegetables and tortilla than meat in the fajitas and tacos. I didn't even like the pique. Usually, I don't like to bash any business, but I was bothered by the fact that we left a $4 tip as a good will gesture when we weren't waited on and served , yet they tried to charge me 5 cents for an extra bag so my friend and I who live in 2 separate households could take our food home adequately. I was completely baffled. Then to top it off, my girlfriend caught food poisoning from there. I was forced to stay up over 24 hours watching her throw up. These were the absolute driest, most tasteless tacos I have ever had the displeasure of consuming. The other menu options may be amazing, but every single taco we had (mahi mahi, cactus, roast pork, chicken, and another one I forget), were literally a chore to eat. I work in the area, and it was a nice day so I took a nice walk there. There are 4 tables inside. I am not a fan of the grooved tables, they are a nightmare to clean! I surprisingly met several of my coworkers there lol! I ordered a steak taco salad. It was in a fried taco shell/bowl. It was tiny! It was cute! but very tiny! Definitely not worth $7, $4 maybe or $5 but not $7. 10 bites and its gone lol! Most other places give you the burrito size shell. I also got the guacamole and chips. It is very good. It needs a tiny bit more seasoning, just a tiny! Maybe a dash or 2 or Snp? It is pretty solid. I found a long black hair in mine, and its not mine lol! Upon entering this spot, my first impression was that the facility is clean and nicely designed. The staff members of this spot seemed nice and they were quick with taking our orders. The only reason I took away one star was because the food took quite some time to prepare. It took about 30-40min for us to wait for them to finish it. I assume they were making the food from scratch. Despite that, it's easy to tell that the food is fresh compared to most other Mexican spots. Our overall experience from here was satisfying and we look forward to ordering again. Boy - we were excited to see a Mexican restaurant open up in our neighborhood! What a huge letdown Fidela's is. We ordered takeout tonight. 3 tacos, a carne asada platter, and a side of guac. *Tacos (Shrimp, carne, and pastor) - dry and overcooked to barely edible. Didn't come with any salsas, just one lime each. *Carne Platter - this was not only insanely small for $13.50, but the carne was super thin, flavorless, and overcooked to INEDIBLE. It was a super thin, cheap cut of steak. The rice was undercooked. *Guac - $8 for the smallest size 1/8 qt container, pure ripoff and not worth it at all. This didn't even come with chips for $8. Fidela's is overpriced, the chef can't cook, and the quality of ingredients is definitely not there - have to disagree with some of the other reviews. One of the worst restaurant I've ever been to for it's customer service. They had us waiting right infront of them for 35 mins for our very simple order, while I see other customers come in and out ordering and leaving with their food after us. After we question after the long wait they realized they had given our food to someone else. No apology, no remorse, didn't attempt to make our replacement order (yes I am still here standing). They ask if we want a refund or our food after 40 mins of waiting!?! Yes we want our refund but the time we wasted couldn't be compensated with merely a refund. read more
