I thought this place was really cool. You get the impression that it's going to mix halal food with Mexican food together. It's actually separate. They have one side of the menu where it's more gyro and Halal options, and the other side has Mexican food options. The flavor was really good. The best part was that they had at least four different styles of chicken to choose from including spicy, classic and jerk seasoning. The staff was really friendly and quick about preparing food. The restaurant itself is small, but has ample seating. I would go here again and also recommend it. read more

The food was fresh and absolutely tasty I would definitely recommend and go back, the service was phenomenal and the ambiance is inviting, overall very clean, friendly staff and I got to look at their kitchen area and it was extremely clean. I give an A++ rating definitely go check them out everyone. read more

The food is good just not real halal & not enough chicken. Tastes good but not halal flavor! Needs extra chicken. If you want halal like the trucks it is not here. read more

Halal Mix has some pretty solid food at great portions and really reasonable prices. I would say my favorite is anything with the jerk chicken, the beef is a little too chewy for my liking. The staff here is super friendly and nice as well. All in all, I hope this local spot is around for years to come. read more

Just ordered from here, the portions suck. The server took my order and was rude rolling his eyes from the start. He was very passive aggressive rushing me to order. He first gave me one small thin layer of rice, I noticed the rice also seemed old and oily. I told him they look old and he lied saying they were fresh when his coworker came and said the rice had already turned. Instead of telling me to wait for a new batch he simply served me the old one. The also ran out of fresh black beans. Wouldn't recommend coming here and it was still 23.00 for two burrito bowls with old thin layer of rice. What disturbed me the most was the workers attitude and how ignorant he was being. read more

Been here twice in a week and it was so tasty. Burrito bowls, Philly cheese steak, shawarma and Jarritos soda. This is such a better halal version of something like chipotle where there is basmati rice and jerk chicken, the avocado sauce is so fresh and the combination and options are better! I feel full and not so bloated like I might at other chains. If they added chicken nuggets to the menu I'd be in heaven! read more

Halal Mix was the closest restaurant I could find with Birria tacos from where I was so I decided to give it a try. Firstly, the price seemed too much for 3 tacos but I heard good things about them, so I still gave it a try. Unfortunately, it didn't hit the expectations I wanted it to have. The meat was dry, and the tacos were all more on the saltier side. The consomé was pretty decent but I expected a bit more for the price. However, the seasoning was decent! The store itself was in a great spot, plenty of parking around the area and the service was great. Everyone was super friendly. read more

I've been coming to this place for years. The food here is good. However, the portions are not great now that the new owners took over. They barely put any meat on the platters so you're basically just eating rice with a tiny tiny side of salad and some sauce. The guy in the front (Naseeb/Naseem? Not sure. I think he's a partner) makes you feel weird while placing an order because he puts tiny portions and if you ask for more, he seems annoyed/reluctant to do so. They upcharge for everything and have a credit card fee. Bring back Sabir, at least we had better portions! Unfortunately, this time around I got a bad stomachache/cramps that lasted two days. Not sure I'll ever go back. read more

I ordered a burrito bowl with falafel (greens, pico, shredded cheese, pickled onion, grilled onions and peppers, green verde sauce, jalepeno). It took about 5-7 minutes to get the falafel. The place was very clean and the employees were really patient and kind. Food was very healthy tasting, this is not a typical fast food burrito bowl that I made, but you could add things like melted cheese etc. This plus a soda can was 11.75! read more

The food is so good at this small restaurant in Eastern Queens. Their gyro bowl will give any halal cart a true run for their money. The customization really sets this restaurant apart, from the types of chicken to the type of sauces. Def worth a visit. read more

Last night I was invited to @thehalalmix. The menu offers a sweet blend of Mexican cuisine( Burrito, Bowls, Taco Quesadillas) along with your mix over rice, shawarma and Philly cheesesteak. : *Chicken Quesadillas *Grilled Chicken Burrito Bowl *Lamb Shawarma in a Pita *Chicken Cheesesteak All the food items were hands down delicious. Big fan of the spicy quesadillas as well as the hefty burrito bowl. Highly recommend the spicy chipotle sauce- it complements everything so well! This is the first week Halal Mix is open and the response has been great as per the owner. They are open very late so be sure to check them out All the meat is sourced from @halandalmeats Instagram: @foodiemahmoodie read more

I think Halal Mix one of the more decent halal joints. I usually come here for the chicken over rice (aka Gyro Bowl). It come with well seasoned brown basmati rice which is full of Afghan flavor. It comes with salad which I passed on and also curly fries which I also passed on because they were usually cold. What is the point of offering french fries if they are cold? Next is the choice of chicken (there is honey chipotle, jerk chicken and classic).. the first two are not authentic at all so I get the classic. The classic chicken is cubed not shredded and is not doused in red food coloring like other halal spots. it is also mixed with onions and has good flavor. It's shame they are bit skimpish with the portion of chicken. Overall it one of the more flavorful chicken over rice's you will find in the Queens/LI area. There is room for improvement. read more

Amazing food, didn't go there in person so I cant speak for the ambiance but the shawarma I got delivered was insanely good. The chicken was perfectly flavorful and juicy, the pita despite the half hour delivery was still holding up well and the sauces were generously packed in which I greatly appreciate because some places can be stingy with it . Overall a great meal and will definitely order again, give this place a try! Nothin but full stars ! read more

The Staff is very patient & welcoming. I personally love their burrito bowls. It Comes with a delicious aromatic cilantro rice & pairs so well w/ any toppings! My family loved the lamb/chicken gyro bowls and chicken quesadillas as well. Their fresh ingredients & decent portion size has us going back every-time we crave Mexican food! read more

Convenient and clean spot. Food was good better than Chipotle. The honey chipotle sauce is . The steak quesadilla (no photos) was ok - we asked for no onions and pick de gallo on the side but they put it in the quesadilla anyway. That was for a pregnant women who decided not to eat it. Other than that the tacos and burrito bowl was on good. read more

Halal Mix is one of my favorite local restaurants and I order from here almost every week. Their Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla is some of the best I've ever had and I always have to order curly fries on the side. Their Beef Birria tacos are exploding with meat and so filling that it'll carry you for the rest of the day. The consommé is sometimes a little salty but thick and flavorful. The chicken over rice platters are also solid and a great quick meal. I love their chipotle and salsa verde sauces and they're always generous with requests for extra sauce. The prices are also very reasonable and the food is always fresh and delicious. You're guaranteed to have a great nap after a Halal Mix meal haha. read more

We were heading to another restaurant on Hillside Ave when we saw this place. It looked interesting and we decided to stop in. The first things you notice are the cleanliness of the place, incredible smell and friendliness of the staff. I was already liking this place. We ordered the chicken quesadilla and a bowl that was a mix of chicken and lamb. It also included hummus, guacamole basmati rice and curly fries. The portions are large and the food was incredibly delicious. It was so delicious that during our meal we were discussing what we are going to order the next time we eat here. When we found out we can have it delivered we agreed that this was going to be dinner in two days. I cannot wait to eat here again. If I was able to give this more than five stars I would. This is now one of my most favorite restaurants. read more

Never coming back. Truly disappointed and disgraceful place to buy food. The food tasted okay 3/5 and can live with that. Service is terrible. Counter person wanted to charge $1 for a table spoon of corn on Gyro platter. Plus I miss spoke by saying "Like Chicken" instead of "I want Chicken". This dude couldn't let it go and keep repeating "Like Chicken", over and over. Way to insult your paid customer when your a restaurant is empty on Saturday during lunch hour. read more

Wonderful and quick service, not much seating but overall very clean. If you're looking for some good chicken shawarma, this is a great choice to go with. Very flavorful and everything tastes fresh. Highly recommend the gyro bowl, it comes with rice, your choice of meat, salad, pickled red onions, and curly fries. read more

Had food from here 3x during a recent visit to NY. If you're searching for a halal version of Chipotle, this is a great place to get your fix. The restaurant is neat and clean, the service is friendly and efficient, and the food is delicious! I personally loved the chicken, I did also try the ground beef burrito bowl, just wasn't my cup of tea. All of the toppings and salsas were so delightful. And the best part was that it was affordable, $12 for a fully packed bowl! Cannot wait to come here another 10x during my next visit back home! read more

Quality is going down. Was the go to gyro spot but consistency is not the same. Stale/ cold fries and old salad in gyro bowl. Philly cheese steak was good from them as well will try again after sometime but it's hard to redeem themselves after I've been off put multiple times recently. read more

This place is amazing. I've ordered a few times on DoorDash but tonight I went to pick up food. The gyro bowl is fantastic and they have so many good sauce options. I usually get the lamb and chicken mix. The chicken quesadilla is tasty, as well as their crispy, well-seasoned curly fries. The guys that work there are super friendly. Def going to be my go-to halal spot! read more

The food here is not it. I preface this by saying the food was ordered for delivery, but I've ordered food from around there at other places and those did not arrive cold. Firstly the nachos were cold and the chips were soggy. The meat tasted and smelled like hot dog water, the best way I can describe it. Just chips with beef and tomatoes drowned in cheese and sour cream. The messy fries are average. The cheese sauce is nothing special. The shawarma was cold and the meat is basic gyro used at other places. Save yourself and try Chicky's or Moho Mexican Grill. read more

Number 1 thieves. We brought food using card/electronic payment. Usually I don't check the transaction but this time I checked and see they are charging twice. I thought it's an innocent mistake so my son went there and showed them from the app that they charged twice. So they said, it shows pending but won't charge. Soon enough the payment (twice) gone from the account. Third time we went there, "boss isn't here, please come back we will give u the money back". 4 th time we went there, "you have to give me in writing" 5th time we went with the writing. Boss isn't there , plz come back.... 6 th time we went there.... Boss is still not there and do not give the money back . I got so pissed .... There was a lady buying food there and I told her u buying the food from here.... Without even me finishing the sentence, the woman said I love the food... she loves the food until they charge her twice or thrice or even more... UNBELIEVABLE ..... STOP STEALING MONEY FROM OTHERS!!! SHAME ON YOU STEALING MONEY FROM A CHILD .... Disgusting people!!!! How low you people are!!!! read more

Very bad service, I was charged double the advertised price. buritto bowls were advertised as 6.99$, I was charged 9.99 per bowl. when I asked for receip, I was not provided, checked in my app I was charged 37$ for 3. Never going again. read more

We had the Burrito, Tacos, Philly Cheesesteak, and Gyro Bowl. Everything was fresh and well-seasoned. The burrito was very filling and hearty. Filled with brown rice, pinto beans, steak, cheese, corn, pico de gallo, lettuce, queso, and sauces. They have a great variety of sauces - chipotle, honey chipotle, salsa verde, mango mango, and avocado cilantro. Hard shell tacos were great! The protein I chose was honey chicken, which was flavorful and juicy. read more

Taco Birria are ok. Worth the price. Quesadillas are delicious and the service was nice.

This place has the best quesadillas in the area. My go to meal with some curly fries, beverage & sauce on the side.
