I looked to my left when I was at a light and I saw this little restaurant on the corner. We googled it and noticed it was Mexican. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The shrimp was extremely salty, as were the refried beans. The rice was undercooked, and there were shreds of vegetables mixed in that should have been filtered out. The onions and peppers should've been cut thinner. The grilled chicken was also dry and lacked flavor. I honestly don't understand how this place has such good reviews based on our experience. Everyone can have a bad day, but nearly every item we ordered had an issue. For us, the food quality simply wasn't there, and we won't be returning.

Other customers and my friends recommend the Chopped Cheese Taco and the "Shroom" (shrimp and mushroom) taco. They also serve fun fusion items like a pizza/quesadilla hybrid. Don't skip the churros or their extensive fruit-flavored margarita menu. This recent time that we visited my wife and I ordered the 2 taco combo, I opted for the cod club taco and my wife chose the shrimp club taco with guacamole and chips as the side. The cod club taco has a very good balance of textures and flavors. It delivers an initial crunch from a golden-brown, battered white fish followed by tender, flaky meat seasoned with earthy spices. This is perfectly offset by a crisp, tangy cabbage/lettuce slaw and a rich, creamy, citrusy lime crema or chipotle sauce. The churros can be described as warm, crispy on the outside, and incredibly soft on the inside. They feature a generous, gooey caramel (dulce de leche) filling and are heavily dusted with sweet cinnamon sugar. Every order has an option with a side of mini Nutella for dipping. The fast-casual, dine-in setting can be described as energetic and bustling, with helpful staff available for recommendations. Delivery orders placed via third-party apps have some issues which may include cold food, long wait times, or missing items. This is a very good place to have tacos, their variety of tacos are well-thought of, making it delicious and flavorful.

The restaurant is named for tacos after all. The carne asada tacos were pretty good. 4 out of 5 stars. Fresh ingredients, good quality meat. But the taco shell of the gringo disintegrated before a bite was taken. They do have a lot of taco options so that's a plus if you plan to visit. Given the above I will stick to other local options when a taco craving hits.

Some of the tacos were done well, particularly the crispy fish taco and crunchy shrimp tacos. The chicken taco and birria tacos were also not bad mostly because they had enough sauce to keep it moist. The Al pastor steak taco unfortunately we would probably avoid in the future. The steak was dry and the taco was just not moist enough to eat happily. We had a side of nachos which was great and also the street corn side as a dip was also delicious. The jalapeño poppers had a good crunch, however, it lacked any spice at all and tasted almost like a regular fried green pepper. Even though we ordered out, the ambiance seemed nice inside and also kid friendly. We may return in the future to try other menu items.

For my order I went with a trio of tacos - al pastor, coconut shrimp (both of these were listed as signature items) and the crispy fish. The Al Pastor was the best of them, but overall the tacos were on the sweet side probably due to the condiments and additions of onions and corn that were pickled. Glad they have hot sauces on the table to bring need heat. I got a side salad with this - I would say this is bit of afterthought lettuce with 3 pieces of cucumber and tomato each there wasn't much to it. I tried the Carne Asada bowl - again a bit on the sweet side, but they give a good amount of food. They use a cheese blend and I think one of them is a parmesan because it tasted a bit out of place. We ordered a piece of tres leches and it had a maple flavor that was unexpected. It took me a second, but I placed that it reminded me of a discontinued Entenmann's cake that I think was maple walnut iced cake. If you remember that and miss it then get this. I enjoyed this non-traditional version. Although not the best Mexican food I would come back here and perhaps try other items on the menu since it seems inventive, but I will keep my expectations in check because the execution doesn't always hit the mark.
