There is one guy, I think his name is Jason?, short guy w highlights, who takes his job seriously--every other person at that place does not give a FUCK. They are rude, incompetent, and SLOWWWWW, I'm talking wait 30 minutes just to get a bean burrito (literally just wrap beans and cheese in a tortilla) at 11pm when there's hardly anyone in the restaurant. I always get the black bean burrito, and it's honestly amazing every time. The flavor is perfect -- super fresh, filling, and not too heavy. I usually make it enchilada style, and it takes it to another level -- all that sauce and cheese on top just hits different. Service is always amazing as well! I love their food. And that green spicy sauce. Wooooo! I always order to go. Never ever had an issue with the orders but last time they messed up our order. We are vegetarian and they gave us meat! I was so incredibly upset. You know that feeling when you are starving and craving something and then wow can't eat it! Sitting there smelling it excitedly but can't eat it. When I called they offered to make new ones but we were no longer in the area. And I was starving! I certainly was not driving back. Not sure how it got mixed up. I get it at places like Taco Bell but here?!! They offered to cancel the payment. Guess what!!! They never did. Shaaady!!! And honestly they should have cancelled the payment AND given us comped new orders. Because that's a big mistake to make. It's not like the sauce or a topping was missing. This place was surprisingly delicious! My husband and I had a quick lunch here. We ordered the chips and salsa, which by the way the salsa was truly packed with flavor outstanding! Hibiscus tea was very refreshing. I sadly was not able to take a picture of the Carne Asada burrito that I had and my husband had the smoked brisket burrito. Both were really good and tasty. We've ordered Chicken quesadilla - flat, shredded chicken, cheesy, not much flavor except the toppings you choose. Beef quesadilla - same as chicken quesadilla except filled with shredded beef. Peruvian chicken - lots of season, nicely roasted, not so dry, tasty. Smoked chicken - ample amount smoked flavor, juicy, unique bbq taste. Salad - fresh: lettuce, shredded carrot, cucumbers, black olives, tomatoe and guac on top! Refried beans - basically bean purée, good. Smoked beans - light smoky flavor, not too sweet, tasty. Mexican rice - nothing special, can taste overly dry. Salsa - fresh, spice level just right, but skimpy. Wings - Buffalo, bbq, cactus house : all tasty sauces, sauced enough, meaty wangs. Jalapeño cornbread - 2 huge pieces, nicely buttered, crispy topping, faint Jalapeño flavor, not too dry. Waited after a few orders to review this place... Based on brief pick-up orders, staff has always been welcoming, helpful and friendly. You can see a good portion of them cooking / preparing food - pleased with their level of sanitary/hygienic work flow. Food is good but the staff is so extremely rude, it's infuriating. My friend has an allergy and they called in their order, the staff told him that he was too bad at calling in his order. They scolded my friend for not knowing the menu or what the food had on it even though he would've died if he ate it. They didn't even offer to make him new tacos without his allergen. The lady with blonde hair was such a nasty woman and she should get fired for her attitude. This is not an isolated incident, the other cashier lady is also very rude. They lack any kindness and are so rude, it's honestly disgraceful to the restaurant. If you want Cactus I genuinely would suggest going to their other location, at least they treat their customers with respect. Their ambiance is just filled with judgement and disgust as if you, the customer, are in the wrong for sitting and eating. They even have an attitude when bringing customers their food. Cactus Cafe is a total gem and I'm happy to support a local business that works hard to serve up good food and reasonable prices. It's one of the places in town that my fam of sausages can agree to go to unanimously. Burritos are solid, though the rice can use some more quality control, and the tacos are solid too. Love their chicken soup and can't go wrong with their quesadillas. Delivery is fast and everything is always packed securely. Even eating in at the store, when we were allowed to, is a fun time and the staff is really nice too. Side note: Door Dash however SUCKS ASS! Totally a waste of a delivery service. The delivery people are rude and have zero people skills. They left my big order on my doorstep but never called me or rang my doorbell or knocked on my door to say they were here. Glad to have Cactus Cafe finally in Port. Used to go to the one in Glen Cove, but this one is closer. The prices are really great and portions large. I like the 24 smoked cactus wings for $16.50 and their $22 two whole rotisserie chickens with 3 large sides! They also have so many meat options here! I like the carne asada, smoked pork, smoked brisket for tacos and enchiladas. Also they have Texas style bbq chicken and ribs. I look forward to trying their breakfast too. read more

Very happy to have cactus cafe in port Washington, as you couldn't find a good burrito nearby before this opened it. I enjoy the chicken and steak burritos and the quesadillas are good too. One of my kids dislikes onions and is very disappointed with cactus cafe because they can't make anything without onions since it seems to be mixed into the steak burrito or quesadillas no matter what.
