if i had to put it into one word: mid. paying $40 for a $10 experience I wanna start by saying every Tuesday me and my brother go get food and it started out with tacos. It's been a minute since we've had tacos, but I was excited to get back to the roots of it. We wanted to go somewhere new and we were in the area. They have outdoor seating and the inside is inviting. I wanted to like the food more than I did but i think it was very middle of the road. Everything felt very Instagram-able and gentrified. the prices reflected it. as a hispanic i'm not trying to get tacos from "joe-zay" i want to get it from my tia: and by that i mean i want it to feel authentic and less like "in the mall" feeling. (it's not in a mall, it just feels like it should be). this also might just be me but if i'm paying extra for chips + guac i don't want to be able to count how many chips i have in a glance. it just feels out of pocket as a premium with 10 chips on a plate the service felt stiff and cold. almost like the guy resented us being there. i paid it no mind but it definitely didn't help the experience. would've been 3 stars if it was priced better overall, id rather go somewhere else. read more

Fun dining experience. Delightful Mexican decor in a small neighborhood restaurant boasting overall decent eats. I used a Flip & Save coupon for 10% off and paid in cash to avoid the credit card fee. The total for three chicken tacos, three steak tacos, and three seafood tacos came out to $39.53. The staff were hard-working and pleasant. I asked for additional sauce and it was provided at no extra charge. While seating is limited, most customers ordered take-out. Started off with the chicken tacos (3/5), which were okay but certainly not as exciting as a U2 concert. Moved on to the steak tacos (3.5/5), which were slightly better, like Blink 182 in the year 2000. Surprised that the hot sauce wasn't spicy at all. A little disappointed with the corn tortillas, they were a bit hard considering I had ordered soft tacos. High point was the octopus taco (4.5/5), it came topped with a delicious, sweet, tangy sauce. While the salmon taco seemed average (3/5), the shrimp taco (4/5) was pleasing to the palate. This small restaurant has a fun, welcoming atmosphere and great music playing. Tiny bit of cheese sauce and few peppers in a small taco that had several pieces of steak that were inedible (essentially just fat) among a few normal pieces. And these were $5.45 each. I've been eyeing this new authentic Mexican restaurant since I drove by and spotted them next door to Yummy Gyro (same owners). Today is their grand opening! I just randomly drove by and saw they were opened, so I just had to stop in! They have a small parking area in front but there's plenty of neighborhood parking available also. Restaurant is bright & colorful, super clean, and nicely decorated. Really cheerful, nice vibe! Friendly & welcoming customer service. They have a pretty extensive menu: tacos, soups, appetizers, nachos, burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, typical Mexican combo plates, the list goes on and on! They even have a kids menu. Something for everyone! (See my photos for menu). They even have Taco Tuesday specials (2 for 1 on some tacos). And....they have birria tacos!! On my 1st visit, I chose their Tres Tacos Combo ($10.95). You can choose 3 of any of their tacos (comes with onions, cilantro, guacamole sauce, green salsa & pico de gallo). Everything was made fresh to-order. I chose: - Carne Asada (grilled steak): great! The strips of steak was so tender and not overcooked. - Al Pastor (roasted pork, adobo sauce & pineapple): really good. Love the pineapple. - Carnitas (pulled pork): was good but could have used a tad bit more flavor. Note that the Tres Taco Combo might not be the best choice since ordering individual tacos may come out cheaper...go figure! I was surprised that their hot sauce really wasn't that spicy! I ordered takeout and the container of hot sauce was only mildly spicy. I wonder if they have bottles of hot sauce on the tables for eat-in? My fave hot sauce is El Yucateco Green Habanero Sauce...it would be awesome if they offered this! Ordered take out from here for the first time. The tacos were very tasty but small. The quesadilla was a little hard (tortilla) but that the meat was well flavored. according to my husband. My son who also had it, ate the entire thing with no complaints only that it was delicious. I ordered the maduros with cheese, which is one of my favorite dishes when ordering Latin food and the see were just ok. The plantains were not ripe enough so they were a bit firm and not as soft or sweet compared what I am used to. Overall it was a good experience. 3.5 stars. This business replaced the former Chinese/Tex-Mex restaurant that used to be here. I've been wanting to try this new business for some time and finally decided to order lunch today. Food was good and tasted fresh, but some items are too expensive on Grubhub for the amount offered. $6 for one small birria taco ? Listen I do have to say this. The taco was very flavorful and delicious. Definitely had that birria kick to it. I only wish there was a 3 taco combo offered for the birria tacos, which there isn't. Also, having flautas on the menu would be a nice addition. For lunch I also ordered myself the Carne Asada quesadillas and Tres Leches Cake. The quesadillas come with hot sauce, pico de gallo, and sour cream on the side. They were decent, though can't say they were the best I've had. Surprisingly the hot sauce wasn't actually that spicy. The Tres Leches Cake was too sweet for my liking and didn't taste authentic - a bit too dense for a Tres Leche. Also I thought the cake was a little pricey. There's better elsewhere. Overall the experience was okay, but I'm not certain if I would order delivery again unless they reconsider their prices. read more

The place is good. I like the "no meat" nachos for $10, which is just nachos with everything but meat. It has the right ratio of cheese, etc. to nachos. The fish tacos were good. The tres leches cake was good. The prices are high, but fair. Yummy Tacos is not Margaritas, but it's not a Queens hole in the wall Tex-Mex joint either. The ambience is above average. The owner did his best to give diners a fun, festive atmosphere - dare I say - date worthy. The young lady woman at the counter has always been nice to me, and I've always felt welcomed. I decided to wait before posting a review for Yummy Taco, I understand new restaurants need to workout the kinks in the first few weeks. Sadly, things did not get much better. Today I ordered the Chicken Fajitas only to get home to my family and find the corn tortillas missing. For the price I paid I would expect better quality control. I've eaten in the restaurant and tried the takeout. The food is decent, the tacos were good, quesadillas were average, the the burritos were pricy for their size. Nice selection on the menu. SO here's the bottom line, every time I've eaten there I always paid cash. YET, every time I've been charged the NON CASH ADJUSTMENT fee. I always have to ask for a manager to get reimbursed. Since they don't want to override the fee I always get the refund back as cash from the register instead. It seems like a easy way to profit from unsuspecting customers. Not impressed by this tactic. Yummy tacos was great! Definitely could taste the freshness and care that was put into the food. I got a veggie burrito, fish tacos, chips and guacamole and their mango slushie drink which tasted exactly how it should- not overly sugary or artificial tasting. The food was a little slow to come out but that's understandable as it was busy. It is also a little on the pricier side than other similar restaurants. I stopped by today to pickup lunch. The prices are a little high for what it is, but I like to support local businesses and wanted to try it out. The tacos were ok and they only used one tortilla vs two. The tacos held up and didn't fall apart, since they don't load it up with ingredients. When I got home I noticed I was over charged for all the items besides the soda. I called and spoke to them about it and they said they know the issue, that the price I paid was correct. I don't understand how the price I paid was correct, since I was at the restaurant and got the menu from the counter. Very disappointed. It isn't about the money, it's more about the feeling of getting scammed. Many other Mexican restaurants around and they are nothing special, so I will not be returning. read more

A very nice surprise that's become a regular joint on my family's local delivery list. Haven't eaten there in person, but the food is pretty good. Empanadas are the yellow kind, over stuffed with meats, and fried to a delicious crisp. Their chicken soup is very tasty, it's got big chunks of chicken, yucca, veggies, and corn on the cob in it. Yummy Taco is the worst Mexican food I have ever had. I ordered the 3 taco combo: grilled chicken, beef chili, and pulled pork. I was extremely disappointed. The tacos were so greasy they kept slipping out of my hands!!! LOL - just kidding, but my hands were coated in grease, the flavor was below average and they were small. I also ordered a shrimp quesadilla that was soooo salty OMG, and again greasy just like the tacos. This restaurant makes great grease, if that's what you're looking for! LOL. My husband and I decided to give Yummy Tacos a try! They just opened a month ago and are owned by the same people as Yummy Gyro next door (which we've also had a few times). The inside of the restaurant is brightly colored and festive with tables that you can sit and eat at. Their menu is pretty simple, but has all of the Mexican restaurant basics. We ordered the Tres Tacos (ground beef, al pastor, and chicken). We specifically asked for flour tortillas and they said ok-yet gave us corn tortillas anyway. I was surprised when they held up a bag of store bought tortillas because the Chinese/Mexican restaurant that used to be there made their own fresh flour tortillas. We also ordered the grilled chicken burrito in a bowl (note, there is an extra fee for it to be in a bowl). Very small portion for the price. We ordered the empanadas- 2 beef and one chicken, but they all tasted the same and are mostly filled with potato. They were pretty flavorful, though, and the corn pastry was crispy! Lastly, I can't pass up a slice of tres leches, so I ordered one of those, too. The cake has a nice vanilla flavor, but is pretty dense and doesn't have that oozing of leches that I expect when biting into it. But it's pretty good. Also, note that there is a higher price charged if you pay with a credit card. read more

I really wanted to find a nice Tex/Mex place around here so I decided to give Yummy Tacos a chance. We got 6 al pastor tacos. First bite caught me off guard with a burst of flavor but by the second bite the whole taco fell apart. There was more pico on the taco then meat. I understand now why the tacos were so cheap lol. The second tortilla they wrap the taco also had a layer of grease ig to give it more "flavor" but it just gave me a stomach ache looking at it. 2/5 simply just cause the meat had great flavor alone but other than that it wasn't that good read more
