Picked order here and was happy to see that the place was busy - always a good sign. Kind of a small restaurant with a just a few tables. Took a while to actually speak with someone as there was no one in the front. We had a large order and it took about 30-40 minutes which was a bit surprising. Tacos were tasty and on the larger side. My third time getting taco takeout from this taqueria. It's so good as a takeout, I can only expect it to be even better in person. My favorite is the chorizo taco. It's seasoned so flavorfully with some kick to it, and so satisfying to eat. I think they updated the shrimp taco since the last time I had it. It used to come with coleslaw topping which I dislike but it now comes with this spicy mayo sauce which is delicious, combined with the peppery and garlic flavor of the shrimp. I've driven past this place countless times, every time saying, I gotta try it. Today I finally stopped in and I'm glad. The place is clean, spotless! You'll notice the Día de Muertos decor is all over. The food is really good, I had a mulita de carne asada, the beef could stand alone. If you're a person that loves spice, you'll have to add your own, this is mild but again great taste. My friend had the sope al pastor, i have to say the flavor is very different from the usual al pastor, but in a "wow! That's good" kinda way. The lady who attended us was warm, friendly and well mannered. I will be back to the more of their stuff. read more

3 stars for today's order (3.5 if yelp allowed). There's potential here. Here's my feedback: Carne asada tacos: I said 4 stars, my wife said 3. There's 3 to an order for $15 which is a bit steep as they aren't large and there isn't a lot of meat. The taste is good and I liked the double corn tortilla. Carne asada sopes: my issue is it tasted and appeared fried. I know the base of a sope is fried masa but these tasted too fried (brown in color). Solid otherwise. Also 3 to an order. Esquities: taste and size good but the cheese used was a melty/stringy cheese. Needs to be cotija. I may try again after they've been open a bit longer. read more

Just came here for cinco de mayo with my two toddlers. Ordered right away. Right after I ordered I asked to swap a taco out, and she lady working the rolled her eyes at me. It wasn't busy at this time yet. It soon picked up quickly - packed. All the tables turned over, and lines were out the door. However everyone else got their food in addition to apologies. 35 min after our ordered she finally got us TWO waters. 40 min after our order, she came with the completely wrong order . No apologies no explanations . Even then I didn't say a word cause I felt bad. It was dinner time on cinco de Mayo and they had ONE lady working. 15 more min passed and my 2 year old started complaining about being hungry, so I decided to get up and ask about the food. The lady was not the most responsive and had no explanation once again. We decided to leave without our food after one hour of waiting with no explanation. Honestly, I think it's because we were Asian. Id never typically use the race card but it truly felt that way. She gave me dirty looks and rolled her eyes at me every time it seemed like I was inconveniencing her. I was going to let it go because she was probably highly stressed, but the fact she was able to keep her composure with everyone else and made sure the had everything they needed in a timely matter rubbed me the wrong way. read more

When there for lunch with collegaue . Lunch special portion was good. But the policy of giving out free food needs to be improved. The restaurants is very tiny, literally 4 tables max. When the homeless person came and shouted loud for free food to the server. All customers were intimidated. I can't move anywhere any due to space limit. The homeless kept rushing for his free food while yelling and talking to himself loudly. He smells as made my surrounding smells. I don't feel comfortable coming in again as I do not pay for this experience. The intention giving out free food is good. But the execution can be better not to disturb regular customer's experience. read more

AMAZING! Authentic food and attentive customer service. The food is packed with so much flavor and the steak was so juicy and tender. Prices are great for the portion size ! Just arriving home from eating at this delicious restaurant. I'm originally from Queens, NY and have been searching high and low for good authentic tacos in(on?) Long Island. This place hit the spot! I've been a Yelp member for years and never made a review, but I had to let my fellow LI'ers know about this place! The chorizo nachos were unbelievable and a complete meal by themselves. I had the Fajitas and they were extremely generous (I grew up in Texas and it was a Texan size portion), with guacamole, pico and sour cream and rice and beans. Great value, super clean restaurant and ideal service. No alcohol yet but Black Sheep Alehouse is around the corner...so hit that first then get some authentic Mexican food! read more
