This is a lovely, upscale American restaurant whose chef is inspired by Southern and New Orleans cuisine. The interior decor is lovely. As are the serving staff. The wine list is extensive as is the whiskey and cordial's list. Price wise, this is an upscale restaurant so we're looking at $$$. The gumbo what's delicious, but they are a bit stingy on the crab meat and the sausage... We had to ask for more. Definitely recommend the shrimp and grits. There's a nice, cozy atmosphere here - even on Valentines Day. Service was refined yet comfortable, what typically seems to go with a more expensive restaurant. Meal felt very relaxed and our server took care to tell us they were never in a hurry for us to move on, leave, etc. The restaurant had a few special items (some extra small plates, entrees, desserts) for Valentines, but the entire menu was available and needed for a full meal. I liked this because there were some menu items I wanted to try that likely would have been left off a prix fixe menu. They offer a nice selection of nonalcoholic beverages, including more than just a couple of mocktails. The wife took a bubbly rose option, and I went with a sangria. Both tasted good were quite similar to the real stuff. And prices were reasonable too. For food, the wife's Caesar salad was well spiced, not with heat but with seasoning. My she crab soup was also flavorful and contained a nice amount of crab. Her scallop gratin (V-day special) was very rich, which I liked in that she had to give me some of it. Generous with the butter and cheese on some quality scallops. My cacio e pepe pasta (V-day special) was also put together very well. Simple ingredients, but assembled and cooked just right. Dessert was a fantastic white chocolate bread pudding (another special), with a scoop of their butter pecan ice cream on the side. And my only ding is for the ice cream. Perhaps it suffered in being next to the bread pudding, but I thought the buttery taste was lacking and its texture was move like ice milk (for those of you old enough to remember that term). The food was so salty to where it was almost inedible. Had steak. It says served medium rare. I prefer medium. They said they could only do medium rare, medium well, or well. I ordered medium well. It was beyond well. My husband ordered medium rare. It too was beyond well. The Demi glaze was so coagulated you couldn't pour it from the little dish they give you the glaze in. It too was so salty. Garlic Pan roasted potatoes was actually a potato cut in half lengthwise and broiled. So dry. No taste of garlic, but again plenty of salt. My cocktail was so watered down it tasted like lime water. My husband had wine. It did have a nice selection of wine. The wait staff was on top of things and pleasant. The restroom had feces smeared on one of the stall floors. Dried so not like someone just did it. The advertising for this place says romantic atmosphere. Ummm no! Nothing romantic in the slightest. And all of this for $300. Overpriced. Over salted. We ordered: Timothy's Burger - Angus beef, pimento cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, fried onion ring, mustard aioli served with fries, Pimento Deviled eggs, Smoked wings and some cocktails. Everything tasted great! However, we had to send the fries back because they were super under cooked, had to ask for more fixings to moisten and burger and bread up and the wings were probably some of the hardest wings I've had BUT the flavor was good!! Those issues were minor and I know to ask for things to be cooked to my liking going forward. Our server was top notch and made sure we were happy! For that, I'll definitely circle around for dinner! OH! The desserts were awesome! Apple Pie Bread Pudding- Crumble topping, caramel sauce, crispy brown butter, butter pecan ice cream Key Lime Crème Brûlée- Vanilla whipped cream, graham crumble. I HATE bread pudding but our server said it was his favorite. I trusted him and ordered it and it was not super mushy like traditional bread puddings which I was happy about. This is a very intimate and personal setting. It does not look like much on the outside and even with GPS a little tricky to find. Once inside you find a great place for date night. Table top lighting and a general cool ambiance. I imagine this place has a very loyal following. The service is very warm, inviting and attentive. The specials they ran that night included monk fish and were enticing. The menu is dynamic and the prices are very fair. I would normally not order a hamburger at a place so nice but I was in the mood and not disappointed. Flame broiled and cooked with a sere it came out perfect. Hand cut fries were mountain sized serving. I left it alone as described on the menu and pimento cheese was a good call. If I travel through again I would choose this restaurant and try all kinds of things. If I lived in the area I would be there all the time. Went for Happy Hour around 5pm, the place was packed. Happy Hour M-F here is 2:30pm - 6pm and they have some really good deals. My wife enjoyed the Mango Pisco Sour drink that was the "cocktail" special for Happy Hour. I enjoyed the house Chardonnay. We ordered the chicken wings, humus plate and an order of fries for apps. The fries were piping hot and I thought could use a bit more salt. The Humus plate was OK, my wife had had it previously and said it was better when the pita was warm and soft, this version the pita was cold and crisp. I thought the wings were cooked well, but I did not care for the barbecue sauce, next time I would order them sans sauce. There are a couple of other items I'd like to try on the HH menu (deviled eggs and flatbreads) and will on a future visit. I'm also very interested in several of the Dinner entrees and will try those as well. Service here was excellent and the ambiance in the place was good as well. Second visit! Did not disappoint! My favorite thing about going out for date night is consistency, if I pick a location, I want to know everything is going to be AS good as it was the time before. We brought couple friends with us last night and they loved their entree choices also. We started with the lobster pot pie, our friends loved it so much they encouraged us to try it. The bread came off easily on top, which I loved (lower carb) its not what I had expected for a pot pie. The lobster bisque underneath was so creamy and has so much flavor I was immediately jealous that we had not ordered it. On the menu was a "charred" Caesar salad with optional anchovies, I will tell you I stayed far away from those! The four of us split 2 Caesar salads and it was a perfect amount to to not fill us up before our entrées came out. I had no idea how you can char lettuce, but it was so good! Just a little more crispy and the pieces behaved better than normal lettuce, no chasing them around on the plate. Our first visit was probably in March, at that time they had a Brussel sprouts salad, I was sad to see that is not on the new menu but I'm POSITIVE when we go back we are splitting this caesar again. I ordered the steak frites and very much enjoyed the savory gravy on top. The broccoli was slightly charred also, trying to stay low carb, I asked what other vegetables were available and accidentally ended up with a vegetable hash that was mostly potatoes. Not a win, but realistically a minor inconvenience. My date ordered the pork ribeye, saying that he's never seen that on a menu before and said it was so good, he would definitely order it again. On both visits we enjoyed very much enjoyed the wine list, since we usually get a bottle for dinner, we also enjoy very competitive bottle pricing. I came here around 7pm on a Wednesday with a friend. We were sat immediately. As it was on a whim, we were not dressed up at all, but normally I would've dressed nicer for this place. Nevertheless, they were welcoming to me in my t-shirt and cut-off jean shorts. We started with the berries and burrata, which was delicious. The bread they brought out was pretty good as well. For dinner I got the vegan mushroom bolognese, which was just so freaking delicious. I'm not vegan, but I love mushrooms, and it did not disappoint. For desert we tried the peach bread pudding and an affogato. I'm not the biggest fan of bread pudding in general, but it was pretty ok. My friend really liked it. Timothy's is nestled within a shopping/dining area on Olive and we weren't even quite sure we turned the right way were it not for trusting the small sign. There is a bigger sign on the restaurant itself and once we figured out where the entrance was, we were greeted and seated at our table. Our waitress came over immediately just to introduce herself and told us she will return momentarily so we could peruse the drink menu. They have half bottles of wine (equates to about 12 ounces or 2, 6-oz glasses of wine) and the options were actually plentiful! I decided to get a Decoy half bottle and we both ordered a salad to start our dinner with. I ordered the roasted beet salad and my husband had the Caesar and added some anchovies. He has been looking for the perfect Caesar with anchovies just like what we had when we were in Minnesota. Unfortunately, he still needs to keep the search going. He did enjoy the salad but did not deem it the perfect Caesar. Mine on the other hand, was fantastic. The goat cheese, arugula, and roasted beets were such a flavorful treat to start the meal off with! They had lobsters on special last night which I briefly debated over getting. They got me with the 8oz filet mignon special though served with broccoli, fingerling potatoes and red wine demi glace. So good! The steak was so flavorful, prepared as I had requested (medium-rare), and melted in my mouth. My husband had the pork tenderloin and he enjoyed every bite. I would classify Timothy's as a hidden gem. It is also a first for me, as this was my initial experience making a reservation on yelp, confirming it, and ultimately using the platform to share a review. Talk about a one-stop shop! The newly opened Timothy's restaurant brings timeless fine dining to Creve Coeur. Before going to the restaurant, perusing the menu online, I was impressed by the classic, yet approachable offerings and inventive preparations, not to mention the creative cocktail menu and solid wines (by the bottle and glass) offerings. The interior includes both a dining room and bar area. We were seated in the dining room. The ambiance is soothing and elegant. The black tablecloths and spotless waterglasses, dishware, and utensils amplified the quintessential fine-dining feel. The service here is some of the best that I have encountered in a long time. Our water glasses were topped up throughout the evening and the female server went above and beyond, providing warmth and wit as she guided us through the menu offerings. The signature menu item, the lobster pot pie, was exquisite and a must-try as a starter. The dish is a high-end interpretation of comfort food featuring shallots, peas, and a touch of cream, sherry and, of course, chunks of lobster claw meat within a puff pastry shell. The grilled Caesar salad was incredible. I would never think to grill hearts of romaine but could easily get addicted to this memorable presentation. The cocktails, too, are simple yet elegant. I ordered the Aviation. Served in a coupe, it featured gin and creme de violette. Its stunning appearance made me feel like a roaring '20s character. Dessert here is also a must. I can't seem to tear myself away from them. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture. The servers are unmatched! My one friend has a garlic allergy and BAM!! It was acknowledge and she was accommodated!! I have a citrus allergy and our server advised me on all ingredients in the dishes I inquired about. This was a mixed bag for us. From the outside it didn't look like a fine dining establishment. But the inside was nicely appointed but pretty loud. We had a great waitress with a good personality. But it took over an hour for entrees to come out, which probably felt longer to me than the others at the table as I was the only one who didn't order a salad. My sister-in-law said she couldn't find any lobster in the lobster pot pie. I had the shrimp and grits, which was fine, but not the best I ever had. There was some kind of crunchy pieces that I think were fried onions that gave good texture but didn't have much taste. I wish there had been more bacon as the piece I had was good. The shrimp were good but could have had more seasoning. The grits were also just ok. I did clean my plate (unlike my sister-in-law) so my dish certainly wasn't bad... but for 30.00 I expected great. The guys were much happier with their meals. One of them had the duck special which he really enjoyed. The other had the pork belly which he wished was thicker, but was very happy with. Wow! We had an incredible meal here last night. You would never guess that this place just opened. The entrance is in the room with a full bar and high top tables. They also have a separate dining room and a patio with tables just outside. My wife and I had the filet for entree. My mom had the filet and scallops special.
