Came here for an event, and I was pretty excited as I've never been here before. It's in a strip mall, so the parking is shared, but plenty of space is available. It's a small restaurant but the look and feel is very nice and vibrant. The service was wonderful. Staff was attentive and pleasant. The food was pretty good. The waffle was sweet, bacon, and sausage cooked well (not too soft or crunchy). The eggs were good but not seasoned. It could be due to the event, but nothing a little salt and pepper couldn't fix. My friend and I came here for happy hour on a Thursday and we will be coming back! The place is very quant and cute. They have a nice bar area and a little dining room area. My friend and I chose to sit at the bar and all the bartenders were friendly and fun to talk to, shout out to Barret! For drinks we decided to get the cocktail of the day, which was a blood orange gin martini. This was very good! For food we split the hummus tray and a strawberry flatbread. The house made hummus was delicious and had a really nice spice to it. At first I was hesitant about the strawberry flatbread but it was also very good and the little touch of sweetness from the strawberries was nice! This place was pretty good. The space gets so loud that it was so hard to have a conversation. Loved the deviled eggs app, but the fried tater tots are such a good choice! My good friend, who is also a foodie highly recommend Timothy's for a fantastic happy hour. She was absolutely correct! I never would have known about this place other than by word of mouth. It's tucked away in the Bellerive Plaza Shopping Mall on Olive in Creve Coeur. It's a very cool little place with a nice vibe. The wait staff were all great! We felt very welcomed. I ordered the happy hour drink of the day which I honestly can't remember what it was, but it was great. The Timothy burger is a must to try. It was cooked perfectly. The hummus was good, I only wish the bread was a bit fresher or warmer... it took a bit of effort.. the carrot sticks were a little on the thicker side.. overall it was okay. A true hidden gem. I have probably driven past this place and never knew it was there. I met colleagues for dinner and we all had an enjoyable experience. The space has a very hip vibe. The tables are intimate and cozy. Our server was prompt, professional, and offered excellent suggestions. The wine and cocktail list has something for everyone. I was most excited about the food menu. In true foodie fashion, I always study the menu ahead of time so i am familiar with what is being offered and have some idea of what I want to eat. The stand out items were the crab Rangoon flat bread pizza and the lobster pot pie. Both were everything I needed it to be. For my entree the oxtail Raghu was the perfect meal for a chilly fall evening. It was hearty and savory and the portion was enough to be comfortably satisfied. After driving past this place for about a year I decided to try it out for their new brunch menu! Everything looked delicious -- not your basic bacon and eggs stuff -- so we were really excited to try it. The interior of the restaurant seems like it's having a bit of an identity crisis. There's some old French posters, some sound dampening panels on the ceiling, and some kinda funky art going on. Not a big deal but it's hard to tell the intended vibe. The wait staff was SUPER attentive and my husband said it felt like a fine dining establishment in that way. They pulled the chairs out, made sure we had napkins if we dropped them, brought out special knives for certain dishes, etc. The food was just okay. I got a fried green tomato Benedict that was a bit undercooked and my husband got a breakfast gumbo-y thing which had good flavor but not much meat. The best thing were the amazing cheese grits!! The burger was good, for HH, you don't get fries (must be ordered separate) but burger was delicious and for my sides I ordered side of brussels sprouts which was amazing. still pretty good service, cocktail of the day was ok. Very fine dining - wonderful service, fantastic food, good friends - - - As we planned a dinner out with another couple, the wives, our better halves, sought new restaurants. My wife found Timothy's via internet search... and what a great find! Timothy's is located on Olive, just west of 279; on the south side, across from the former Creve Coeur Camera location, in the Schnucks parking lot. From the outside it looks like most any other restaurant in a strip mall; from the inside you find a restaurant that is very nice and welcoming, and... upscale; inside is a place of fine dining. The interior is lit well enough to see, but not bright; neither dark - just right. Nice artwork adorns the walls, including the large painted face that provides you a welcoming look from the other room. As we socialized, the ladies each enjoyed their cocktails; while our friend enjoyed a beer in a glass. Timothy's provides very good bread, accompanied by whipped butter... so good you'll to ask for a couple more slices to make sure you scoop all of the butter from the bowl. For dinner, my wonderful wife and I shared two plates - a ribeye and the miso grouper... both were fantastic. Our friends were thrilled with their food, too. Victoria was a gracious host who gave us just the right of attention when we arrived and socialized, adjusting to provide more attention as needed through the evening. Thank you, Victoria. Our server was curt and borderline rude even though he was serving only 2 other tables of 3 and 4 diners. I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich and fries. The fries were outstanding. Haven't visited Timothy's for a couple of years even though we were always very happy with our experience there. After such a great meal on Monday evening, we will be returning more often. I highly recommend their smoked pastrami lamb. Most of the fat is rendered by the smoking and the pastrami flavoring is perfect. Our waitress did I great job explaining the menu and I started with a non-alcoholic drink called the pink pony which was delicious. The deviled eggs were not bad but they were not my fav because they are not sweet at all. The happy hour cocktail was one that was so good, I had like 5. It was like a manhattan with a twist.. so good. We ordered the pimento cheese stuffed tots - HOLY MOLY CANNOLY- GET THESE!! Along with the shrimp n grits (not HH), pizza (full plate size flatbread, good but nothing spectacular here), escargot (damn good, not HH), and deviled eggs- Loved! A friend also got a shrimp pasta which was to die for and my expresso martini was PERFECTION. What stuck out the absolute most was a friend was having a bout of diverticulitis and can't eat really anything. Our waiter was such a doll and went to the back to see what options were available and brought her several options (beef, chicken, and veal stock) along with club soda with bitters and an umbrella- so she could feel like she was fully enjoying happy hour as well. She said the veal stock was OUTSTANDING which speaks volumes of the quality of this establishment. The ambiance is sexy when you walk, on the right, in which more lighting and tables on the left. My lasagna was completely burnt on the bottom. I couldn't even cut through it with a fork. It still puzzles me that it was served that way. Everyone was extremely apologetic and of course they remade it. My mother's Cornish hens were one second from being burnt. They tasted fine and she ate them. I don't know if the chef was having an off day but everything seemed to be overcooked. The bananas foster was excellent. I will definitely give them another try. The dish was delicious. I had (2) glasses of white wine, sauvignon blanc., it was crisp, semi-sweet and delicious. My entree was the Lamb with brussels sprout and diced potatoes. My first taste was great and then the saltiness took over. I noticed other people were complaining of the saltiness also. I was very disappointed. Our server and other workers were very nice and accommodating. We stopped in on a weekday for lunch and regretted it. First, the ambiance had the warmth of an East German clinic. No art, no plants and no view. It's as if the planners said "Let's put some black tables in a large, black closet and call it a bistro." Service: One of [only two] the waiters seemed to be in a footrace. No time for pleasantries or chit chat. Yes, they were fairly busy but it was exhausting watching him buzz around doing service stuff on the fly. Food: Bland as unsalted white bread. It looked good, but was utterly tasteless. The one bright spot was the potato salad, it was very tasty but could have been out of a bucket from the Schnuck's deli. The final straw was the bill: Although the menu says the sandwiches come with a side of fries or potato salad, I was charged $6 for my potato salad side. Since Speedball wasn't around to question and had long ago snatched up the menus, I didn't question it at the time. And since the Schnuck's potato salad was the best part of the meal, I let it go. Add $12 for a cup of the dishwater soup, it turned out to be a rather expensive no-booze lunch lesson in where to never go again. read more
