Spectacular date night tonight at Timothy's! It was our first time and we really loved this place start to finish. It was quite an experience. Attention to detail by the servers was top notch. As we were seated, my wife made a remark to me about having forgotten her cheater glasses so she could read the menu. I kid you not, the host came back to the table with a cigar box filled with a variety of cheater glasses for her (and I) to choose from! Wow! The menu is well organized and the food options were varied, but not overwhelming. My wife loves a deliciously cold martini (shaken to the point of ice crystallization)...so she tried that first. After two sips she said that, hands down, this is the best martini in St Louis. Servers were persistent, polite, and prompt in moving from course to course. My water glass was never empty and plates didn't linger long on the table. Our main server had an excellent grasp of the menu and helped me navigate my dairy and gluten allergies with confidence. I tried the beet salad for a starter and it was awesome. It was bursting with flavors and a nice variety of beets...really well presented. For dinner, I tried the salmon. It was a symphony of taste. Chef prepared it with puréed black beans, roasted carrots, and chimichurri. I will be ordering this again in the future, it was so great. My wife ordered the filet of sirloin. Chef prepared it with asparagus with lobster hollandaise and garlic mashed potatoes. Again, fantastic! For dessert, I went with tangerine sorbet and my wife selected a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a tasty cordial. YES it matters! ) THE FOOD Salad=great Grilled Caesar Salad charred artisan romaine, house-made dressing, shaved parmesan, sweety drop peppers, crouton dust add marinated white italian anchovies This is the first Grilled salad I've had and ironically it works well as warming the lettuce slightly brings out the flavor, especially of the dressing! Entrees Her: Scallops smoked paprika dusted, edamame smash, turmeric corn broth, grilled corn, (Think U8 LARGE Amazing Scallops the largest we've seen anywhere & delicious!) Me: Grilled Salmon chimichurri, chipotle black bean puree, cilantro creamed corn, (I took a chance on this one because I observed it being served to another diner and it looked amazing! Newsflash! It was indeed Amazing! If you would have shown me the ingredients to this dish historically I would have balked at the black bean puree but this whole dish was delightful! Full of flavor and texture. Deserts look amazing and would love to try them, but no room, maybe next time! New restaurant that has great potential to be our go-to place but it needs some adjustments, IMHO. We liked that they take and honor reservations, good location and ample parking. Crowded but our table was ready with water already poured. Staff was friendly. Grilled Caesar salad we split was excellent. Rack of lambs we ordered medium and med-rare came out bloody rare and had to be sent back, but then they were done right and were wonderful in the chimichurri sauce. Our waiter Brandon was truly outstanding. When we were seated my wife mentioned to me the music was too loud. Brandon overheard this and said it was too loud for him too and turned it down. He was highly attentive and made sure our wine glasses were always filled. Suggested adjustments: 1. Cook the lamb as ordered the first time for $35. More potato and carrots than could be eaten. Maybe offer a few stalks of asparagus instead. 2. Cut the decibels! The dining room is crowded and really noisy. Maybe add carpeting and an acoustical ceiling. 3. The wines are only upscale. Cheapest glass of cab is $15, bottle is $40 No thanks. Suggest a couple of modest table wines by the glass and bottle, which would allow us to dine there more often. Maybe I should bring a modest but highly rated cab from my cellar, pay the reasonable $15 corkage, and be out $25 instead of $40 or more. 4. Do whatever it takes to keep Brandon on the staff. :-) We look forward to giving Timothy's another try. read more

Creve Coeur was in desperate need of a fine dining spot and this place brings that and more. They have flatbreads and lots of interesting appetizers and a huge wine and cocktail list to go with the cozy low lit bar. Fontina tater tots were delicious with the spicy ketchup and the filet was perfectly cooked. They had several intriguing vegetarian options including soba noodles with beyond meat and a ratatouille. The service is top notch as well as the table set up. The best was the maple bacon bread pudding and we really regret not trying the beet salad or key lime creme brulee so we will be back for sure. read more

When we arrived last night for our reservation we were told there was only a high top in the bar available. We advised we had a reservation and asked how long the wait would be. The host stated there were two parties in front of us so it would be quit a while. We were frustrated, especially since we could see an empty table in the dining room and turned around. My wife and I visit Maryland Heights occasionally, and Timothy's seemed clearly a cut above on out internet search. What a find. The service was outstanding: our server knew how each dish was prepared, where and how the salmon was raised, where the escargot were from, etc. All ingredients were clearly top of the line. We had escargot, mussels, grilled Caesar salad with salmon, and ratatouille, along with a wonderful bottle of Malbec (Winesearcher rated all of their wines around 90). The first three dishes were truly good, the ratatouille was the best we'd ever eaten. The veggies apparently are first oven roasted, then grilled, and then sauteed with herbs, etc. , the last two parts after your order is taken. Small but cozy, intimate setting - perfect for a date night. We visited on a Saturday evening, which reservations are recommended, but not needed. We lucked out and we were seated right away. Wait staff and the host were dressed very nicely and very attentive. Husband ordered the smoked wings and a Caesar salad, while I had Timothy's burger. The smoked wings were large but there were only 3. My burger was delicious but as usual, I couldn't finish it all and took it home. My friends & I came here for a birthday dinner and were slightly underwhelmed. After our waiter took our drink order, it took 30-45 minutes for him to come back to take our order. Our waiter seemed aloof and like he was bothered by any of our requests. When we received our food, all but one of our dishes were lukewarm. We mentioned that it was one of our friend's birthdays, but did not receive a birthday dessert after watching multiple tables receive desserts with candles in them. We had a great dining experience. We had a group of 7 of us and were seating in one of the banquettes in the bar area. It was a fun area to be able to have a good conversation but also feel the energy of the restaurant. Our waiter Steve was excellent and gave us great suggestions all night. I started with the grilled Caesar salad which was spot on perfect. I then had the pork tenderloin with the risotto. I am picky about my risotto and it was delicious, with the butternut squash. Great little hideaway. This place has an old club bar feel to it. It's in a strip mall but once inside you turn your attention to a simple menu of well constructed and well presented dishes that are outrageously good. 2 couples that have been friends for 50+ years met here for happy hour and dinner. We outstanding service from Amanda W She was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and as attentive as we needed her to be. Three of us started with the drink of the evening, unnamed but a refreshing and light mixture of vodka, aperol, lemon, sour mix and not sure what else but it was excellent. For appetizers we tried the deviled eggs, special flat bread and pastrami cured and smoked lamb. All highly recommended. For entrees there was mussels, shrimp and grits and a kale salad. All prepared as expected and again try them all. for desert we were torn between bananas foster and apple/cinnamon bread pudding with sauced ice cream. We chose the later and happy we did. Our bottom line; great food and drinks, excellent service all at priced at what we thought was reasonable. Timothy's is worthy of a special trip just to be there. read more

Neat new restaurant, excellent food and attentive waiters. Everything we ate was delicious.

All of the staff were very nice. I had the short ribs and my wife had the shrimp and grits. Both were very good, and we would get them again. The one thing that was a little unusual was the presentation of the escargot. Usually escargot is served in an escargot serving dish with each piece sitting in its own little indentation. These escargot came out in a small circular bowl and we're just rolling around in the sauce. Also, many times escargot comes out with a bit of a cheese topping which these did not have. In any event, they tasted quite good. In regards to dessert, the apple fritters were delicious. I got the Affogato, and again, the presentation was rather unusual. When I've gotten Affogato in the past, ice cream comes out in a martini glass and the espresso is either added by the server or you do it yourself. At Timothy's, the ice cream was rather skimpy with only one small scoop. It came out in a tall glass mug with the espresso on the side. The ice cream serving was very small and the tall mug made it difficult to fully enjoy. The dessert tasted very good but presentation was lacking. Overall we enjoyed Timothy's very much so. we will be going back to try the other dishes. Hopefully, they will get potato vodka. read more
