We were driving by Tilly's and noticed their sidewalk sale. I was in need of some new swim trunks/board shorts and spied some on the rack so we pulled in. Found two pair of cool Nike shorts. Originally marked $64.95 each, picked them up for $24.95 each. Happened to pop into the store as I was headed to pet smart next store on Christmas Eve. I saw the sale signage and decided to get my son a couple things. The sales associate Amir was so helpful. This Is a favorite of the elementary and middle school kids in Santee, even though kids clothes only cover about 10% the store. My 11 year old loves the place, she is always able to find the Van's shoes she wants, over priced ugly back packs blasted with the brands she thinks are cool, and usually an outfit or two. Not a place to do major shopping but for a item or two, or a gift for a preteen or teen it's hard to to find something they will like. Called in at 6:30pm asking what time they closed and was told 9pm. It's a thirty minute drive for us so we got there at 7pm as this RUDE woman was closing the door. We told her whoever answered the phone just told us they closed at 9pm and she tells us "he said 7." Seriously!? You should be apologizing for wasting our time instead of lying to our faces about a conversation you obviously know nothing about! Not sure if it matters since it's a chain store, but we won't be coming back to the Santee Tilly's. read more

If I could give this store no stars I would. From the moment my boyfriend and I walked in the store we got the nastiest looks by all the employees. I asked if all the sizes they had on the floor were all they had in stock and the associate looked me up and down and made sure to point out the biggest sizes the company carries. I have never felt discriminated while shopping in a retail store over my ethnicity and weight. You have to keep in mind they are all white young highschool looking employees. Incredible experience thanks to store associate Ethan! I came into the store unsure about purchasing and sizes for shirts I had hoped to gift for my husband. Ethan was incredibly helpful, he greeted me, was patient with all of my questions, and listened to my concerns on the correctness of sizing. When I asked he was even willing to share his own shirt size for comparison and explained the policy on refunds/exchanges in a way that made me feel comfortable. I had been a little hesitant to come into the store after reading some other yelp reviews, but ultimately I'm glad I did because Ethan was so personable and helpful. This is the kind of good quality customer service, and positive experience that anyone should have who comes into the store, and I believe that should be praised! If I could I would give this location, I would give no stars. An associate asked my mother if I was male or female while I was in the dressing room because they "didn't want to be rude". The harassment you get regarding Covid restrictions is ridiculous! I mean literally harassed! I have not gone back and won't even when all this is over! Standing at the check out I was a little to the left of the plexiglass and got asked to step behind the plexiglass, ok while you touch everything I just touched! Ridiculous!!! I did not once see anyone even sanitize anything but yet chose to harass the customer about everything. Oh and one more thing they left the security tag on a pair of my daughters jeans, I told her to throw them away because I'm not going back to that store! Had an unusual situation because I bought some black ankle boots from Tillys online back in July. I wear them for work & sometimes they are hard to find depending on the time of year. When I received them I opened the box, confirmed the size, style and color, then put them up until I needed them. I pulled them out last night and put them on only to realize I had been sent 2 different style boots with different height heels. I drove to the Santee, Ca store and a nice young man named Fernando assisted me. I knew this was an unusual situation & would require some special attention. After calling a manager & explaining the situation he was able to exchange the boots for a matching pair. Thank you Fernando for the excellent customer service. You are an asset to Tillys. read more

READ REVIEW.. I would leave ZERO stars if I could for allTilly's this location included. I bought a pair of shoes and wanted to do a return the next day. I never wore the shoes at all and when I went to return I was told they were worn and wouldn't be accepted. I had to drive to 2 different Tilly locations and this location only gave me a store credit. This company is an absolute disgrace when it comes to customer service. I only came here for a pair of shoes, this entire store is over priced to say the least. Please shop elsewhere and take TILLYS away from being a public company. This store and all employees are rotten. While I understand the covid restriction and abide when I must go into stores my 2 young daughters are both exempt and we shouldn't be harassed for it. Tilly's step up and train your employees to understand the harsh and aggressive tone they take with people is not okay. There are exceptions and even the world health organization acknowledges that. My daughter is 5 years old with chronic lung disease and is exempt on 2 levels from mask wearing let alone my 2 year old. We were excited to be able to go back to school shopping finally and I as an adult kept all covid restrictions very serious never once were my girls out of arms reach or within 6 feet of any other human in that store yet we were spoken to with such disrespect and no chance to explain the situation. Just gross. I have already spread the word to our entire East county community and dozens have come out and said the same thing. Regardless of covid status each and everyone of them plan on keeping they're hard earned money from you stores. There is a need to take precautions but never a need to automatically treat people with such aggressive tone and rudeness. Be kind humans especially in this time. While I enjoy the quality of the clothing line this company sells, the level of customer service is horrid. I walked in looking for a black hoodie, and I was stared down twice by a sales associates folding clothes. I did not receive any greetings or questions such as "hello, is there anything I can help you find?" As I left the store, I approached the associate, and said "Thanks for your help!" (Insert sarcasm). Her response was simply, "yeah!" I've been living in Santee for about a year now, and it's sad that one hears "stories" about "racism." While, I refute to let that be a reason because we live in 2014 (almost 2015), I believe that the customer service should have been better. What makes matters worse was that I talked the store manager and explained to her the situation that had happened. Her response was simply "Thanks for letting me know." No remorse and no apologies. Maybe there's a top down effect happening at this store? Perhaps, the attitude of the employees reflect the leadership of management. All in all, my review is a strong suggestion that you don't shop here. There are other stores in the shopping center that deserve our time and money. read more

I came into Tilly's for the first time today. The people were a bit slow in getting to assist their customers. Once I was assisted the girl was amazing. My only complaint was that a pair of shoes that I was attempting to purchase was supposed to be on a mannequin. I waited over 30 minutes for them to locate the shoes and they were never found. So, I was never able to purchase them. I was really bummed because they were the ones that I really liked. read more

I stopped in Friday in the afternoon on my way home from work and was very pleased with this location, I do not understand some of these negative reviews. I am not very familiar with this location, but will be coming back to it after my experience. I was looking for an outfit for an event I had this weekend and had exceptional customer service. Nick was super helpful, had me set up in a fitting room, and ran back and forth swapping different items and sizes for me (which most places won't do or offer to do) and made me feel extremely welcomed. 5 stars from me for an easy, fast, and positive shopping stop! read more

Most of the staff was great and the store was clean. My issue was the store "manager" as I was told she was. Her name was "Liz" according to one of the staff members. 3 stars i can see why!!!!! Now i know why people shop online and stores are closing! I went in the first guy asked we need help ( wish i caught his name, only person who seemed to care in this store) I bought a pair of flip flops. The tag apparently was wrong on the shoes ( not my fault I don't work here and if i did this store would not be how it is) went to cashier she didn't even look at the hanging tag just tossed it on the ground and charged me the other price. I looked over the receipt to see it was 10$ more not a big deal it's the principal behind it. I go in to show her and have her grab the tag she tossed. They other lady comes up and says the red tag needs to be on the shoes not the hanging tag. Wtf tell your employees that not me. ( i did not say that out loud) she just walked off and manager (Bristol) comes up did not say one word to me just asked the employee and said she wants to return them due to wrong price, she did not say sorry, let me make this right or anything to me in fact she just walked off after she signed for the refund!!! This store has gone downhill and I will be calling corporate on Monday!!!! Please train your associates in customer service and to say hello when someone walks in to the store. I understand that is the Christmas season and we as consumers are to be understanding of waiting in line. Given that I waited in line for 20 mins with only three people in front of me. There was no sense of urgency at the front at all! There was two cashiers, both just chatting to the customer as if you were talking to your best friend. I get it... Give good customer service but don't neglect the people waiting. I think the thing that pissed me off the most was that there was two girls on the sales floor just folding clothes and talking... Worst experience ever. I was at the parkway store and I had them call this store too see if they had a different size that the parkway store didn't. They said they did so they took my name and put it on "hold" til i got there. Well half hour later I am at this location waiting in line and told the guy what happened and of course no one ever pulled it. So when they went to go do that .. guess what?! It was gone! Adidas is my all time favorite so to find a shop that has sales on my favorite line for literally more then half the price taken off I am pleased! I asked for help but the sales associates are totally un aware of whats going on and don't pay attention to anything or anyone. I did save more than $150 on Adidas gear though! Awful! Refused a return that they ordered saying it was a final sale! I was not told this. The manager Liz said that this is my fault because I did not ask and they don't have to tell me!!! Best Tilly's customer service team is this place! Normally when I go to any other Tilly's they just greet me and let me find my way around their store. This team greeted me immediately, let me know the promos, helped me with sizes, and current trends. Hannah specifically stood out, she was amazing. She made my shopping experience fun and easy. The manager, Danni (sp?), is so rude. She really made me uncomfortable. She treats customers like they are inconveniencing her and she really should respect them since they are the reason she has a job...that's her job, to serve customers (aka customer service). It's my job title, too, so I know how to talk to people with respect. This store isn't the best with customer service anyways, but as a manager, who I imagine does have sales goals for her store, you would think she would want returning customers. I have lived in Santee a long time, but will not come back here. The treatment was not worth it. We usually buy my husband's shoes here, but there is a DSW next door where we can buy shoes. And I usually buy myself clothes there, but there is a boutique within a few miles that sells similar product with way better service. All in all, this store lost me as a customer. read more
