I have been here a couple times for returns from Amazon and Levi's. They have really stepped their game up on customer service. They have let me purchase Kohl's items while doing returns. I love the Santee Kohl's for my Amazon returns. The staff are helpful and friendly. I can generally get in and out pretty quick when doing my returns. Even when I have a lot. As for shopping at Kohl's they have quality products. I love their holiday decorations and they have a nice selection of kids clothes. They have great sales and I love their Kohl's cash program. I do think that their regularly priced items can be a little pricey for me. They recently changed their checkout register area. It is a nice setup but they are now processing Kohl's returns at the front registers and that definitely slows down the line for both people doing returns and just buying regular items. read more

Great parking lot with ample parking. They have a Sephora inside. Staff is friendly. Plenty of cute back to school clothes. Make sure to check if there are any coupons online before check out-they can scan the coupon on your phone. Kohl's cash is an awesome incentive to return to shop. You can find anything for men, women, children and babies here. Only downside is that the air conditioning seemed to not be working this week, it was uncomfortably warm in the store- we would have shopped longer if the AC was working properly. read more

Now that the Kohl's in Clairemont has closed, this is my next closest location. This location tends to have good stock and I like to order online and pick up in store, mainly because I find that all Kohl's locations tend to be very warm inside. While most orders tend to be done in about 2 hours, I do find the times to be inconsistent, as much as 4-5 hours for one item. I can usually find most things I need whether it be clothes for myself, my son, or gifts for others. I also like the Sephora inside the location as I can combine my online orders and pick up in one location. The only downside I have is when they are busy, they don't tend to adequately staff and lines can be long, hence the second reason I place orders online. I like the pick up pass and simply going to a bin to grab my items. Overall, I really like Kohl's and I can always find something. read more

I usually enjoy shopping at Kohl's, but this location was a huge disappointment. The store looked completely disorganized -- clothes were scattered everywhere, racks were overflowing, and the shoe section looked like it had been ransacked. I understand it's tough right now with staffing issues and hiring struggles (thanks to the state's poor politics), but this was beyond messy. Walking through the aisles felt chaotic, and it didn't make me want to shop or browse. Kohl's needs to step up their store management and organization. A little effort in keeping the place clean and presentable would go a long way. Even if it means yelling and corporate needing more employees. read more

So angry. I came in here to return an Amazon order and got a $10 off coupon to spend on $25 or more. So I found a dress for $24.99, and figured they would give me problems because it was a penny less than $25, so I picked up a Tide Pen in line so that my purchase would be over the threshold. Well, of course they wouldn't honor the coupon because my dress was $24.99, not $25. AND they said the Tide Pen somehow didn't count towards to $25 or more, and neither did anything they I could've grabbed in the line. Well, I waited in line for about 10 minutes, so no way would I go back in the store, look at the tiny print on the coupon to see what qualified and what didn't, and get back into line. So I disgustedly tossed the dress and walked out without buying anything. Sorry, but a store that is so inflexible that they won't honor a coupon that requires a $25 purchase when the item is $24.99 AND they won't allow items picked up in line to help make the purchase more than $25 is a store I don't want to patronize. Those coupons have so many fine prints is not even funny. I usually bring my Amazon returns here and use the coupon they give me, but I won't be doing that anymore. Kohls always offers coupons that don't work. Today I had a $10 off $25 after doing an Amazon return. I picked up a few items, kids board game, kid toy, sunscreen and girls hair clips for a total of $50. I should've known the coupon is not valid unless I spent $25 more SMH. Sadly enough I didn't buy all that I needed for a measly $10 off. It makes me want to NEVER shop at kohls again. I could understand Nike and vans, I went through that. I have ordered many things that have been shipped to the store. I've always been able to go to self pick up to get my items. But not today! I had to wait in their god awful line only to have to wait longer for the (very nice) lady to go get my 1 little item. I should have been in that store for less than 5 minutes. Instead it took at least 20. I'm really angry about it and probably won't ever be back, I'm an EXCELLENT grudge holder. This store is a horrible mess and a lot of the items are missing price tags which is not helpful when you are looking for a Christmas gift. Also if you happen to be Hispanic or black they will racially provide you and follow you throughout the stores. The employees are very aggressive to the point that you cannot shop comfortable and I see why the store is almost now always empty. The prissy manger was so rude with an attitude! He is short, chubby face and glasses. He needs to leave is attitude and home and be more friendly and professional. I had to walk the whole store to find Amazon drop off and when i said something to him in a friendly way he gave me a prissy rude attitude and blamed me saying it was my fault since there are signs posted in the store directing you to the area. In the past the area was in the back which is where I went to only to find amazon not there. The manager could of been friendly with no rude attitude. I came to Kohls to purchase a few garments but the cashier did not bag a pair of pants and dress shirt. I was charged for the items but the items were not bagged. When I came home I was missing the items. I returned to the store and the items were at the register, unbagged, hanging on a rack. A manager came by to assist me and matched the items to my receipt, apologized and handed the items to me. He took a picture of the receipt to bring up the issue with the cashier for training purposes. The manager was helpful. The cashier was nice but did not do her job correctly. Be cautious when shopping, pay attention, the cashier got distracted as she was trying to sell a Kohls Credit Card, have me enter my email address and phone number. Be attentive as shoppers. I spent 10 miles round trip to pick up my items. The manager apologized but as a token of my troubles I could have been given a gift card. read more

Love this location, specifically because of Lisa in customer service. She is so kind, caring, and goes above and beyond to help her customers. Her area is always clean and organized. DON'T SHOP HERE . This location has horrible management. It's ran like a Walmart . The last 3 times I've done an Amazon return the signs in the store were inaccurate, and i'm circling the store to find myself up in the regular kohl's return line a mile long with one person on the register ! This is unacceptable, and I would also imagine some sort of breach of Amazons policy . Why isn't there an Amazon person taking care of these returns in a simple hassle free separate location inside the store the way it's supposed to be ??? This is not an isolated incident either . I don't appreciate walking all the way around the store following a sign sending me to an area that doesn't exist . If somebody's not available or on break, at least reroute us correctly. And why is this always the case when I come in that store ? It's not the customer's job to ask for backup either . The employees should be calling or somebody in charge should be on it . All of us standing there at the return line just talked smack about how ridiculous the place is. I thought Kohl's was supposed to be like a department store. This one is far from it . The employees look miserable, as well as the customers standing in the checkout lines. And definitely the people at returns. Last friday night i went shop here and the only store ive been to when i found out my wallet is missing. I found out next day that yes it is missing and i called the store if they have it in their lost and found and atleast help me check their cctv etc.but instead they keep on telling me we are gonna find out monday. This was my first and only time in a Kohl's store. I really liked it. They have name brand items at discounted prices. Some of the brands are passé such as JLo and Juicy Couture which I wore 10-15 years ago. I wish track suits would make a come back. They're so comfortable that I would wear them all over the place. There was also the Simply Vera Wang line. She had some nice stuff. I wish Kohl's would open a store on Oahu. I was also checking out TheBalm cosmetics across the aisle from the clothes. I order a lot of their products online, so it was great that I could swatch some of the colors. I did notice that they were short staffed on the floor. I didn't see a single salesperson the whole time I was there. There were two ladies working at the cash wrap. Two people were ahead of me checking out and the line moved fast. The lady that rang me up was friendly. I guess I spent enough to earn Kohl's bucks. It was a promotion that they were having. You had to go back a week or so later to redeem it, but I wasn't going to be in town for that long. read more

I really like Kohl's, but this particular location is extremely understaffed. I spent 20 minutes waiting in line with only one cashier working the register. This really shouldn't happen. On a brighter note, there are lots of cute clothes here at this store, and summer hats here are a great price! I especially like the little girls section here; sooo many cute and comfortable dresses! I wish they made dresses like that for women too! I'd totally get them! I enjoy shopping here, but the checkout line can sometimes be a drag... so 3 stars for now, and hopefully they get more cashiers for a speedier check out! read more

Hadn't visited this location at all since moving out here 3 years ago and it was interesting. Quite messy and chaotic in almost every non-apparel department so finding a price or the correct item on display is challenging. Half the workers seem to be happy to help, and it seems that the younger staff hate their lives and don't want to be stopped by a customer. read more

This store has nice personal but when I go in the seem way under staffed. The poor lady working the customer service area was doing everything she could to provide good service but when she called her manager for backup she didn't seem to care that she was needing a hand there were packages all over behind the counter and an extremely long line. I dont usually shop at kohl's, see my other review...I started to shop here again when they added a Sephora store. I needed to make a return/exchange and it turned out I was one day after the 60 day return. The woman helping me, Sam, offered to have a manager come see if they would make an exception. I never asked for the manager, and I was being nice and understanding. The manager came over and, upon walking over, looked at me and literally rolled her eyes in annoyance. She walked past me to the register and never once greeted me or offered any type of customary greeting you would normally give a customer. My husband even commented about how rude she was. Needless to say, she would not help or offer any concession for being 1 day past the return. I understand the policy is what it is. Honesty, I would have considered shopping at Kohl's again because I noticed today the store is stocked better and more organized. But the rude manager reminded me why I don't shop there. So good job getting the store cleaned up, now offer better customer service training for management. read more

For me, Kohl's is just okay. I know so many people just love it here, including most of my family, but it's just somewhere I struggle with. Kohl's has a ton of cute options in so many of their departments but none of it is ever neat enough for me and I struggle to view their options and figure out what they have without feeling like it is a whole ordeal. My most recent trips were for Amazon return drop offs which is an awesome feature they have and maternity clothing. I was super unimpressed with their maternity section. They had next to nothing and it felt like what they had was picked over. I was super disappointed and left empty handed that day and did most of my maternity clothing shopping on amazon instead. This location is large and has ample parking. The employees I have dealt with have been kind but I only ever deal with them at the registers or service counters since no one is ever around on the floor when I go in. Overall, Kohl's does have some good options and brands but you have to be willing to dig to get the good stuff and I am not. This location and really, chain isn't for me but maybe one day I will love it. read more

I must first say I love Khols and their products. I think the Santee store is also great it's my primary store. I'm writing this review on my experience today on 3/18 at 7:00pm. I worked in customer service and the service industry for many years before I became a nurse. I say this because I understand everyone has a bad day, with that being said..... I walked into the store to return a couple shirts for different sizes, customer service desk was perfect. As I finished I headed into the store I heard an employee in the Sephora section say to another coworker. "Seriously you need to help people coming over here." The girl kindly replied, "I am I just helped a couple people." then the previous women replied beyond loud, " No your not I'm helping everyone you need to start working!" I wanted something from the makeup section but was so disturbed by her that I left and went to womens. Then when I'm in womens the aggressive employee walks past the cashier desk and says as loud as can be to the cashiers. " Oh my god I don't know what her deal is, she took 20 minutes with one costumer and I've helped 5 people, I mean oh my god is she drunk!" To be honest I was in shock. I was just enjoying a little shopping. I felt awful for her coworker. Maybe the person she was helping needed the 20 minutes? Maybe she is still figuring it out. If your a seasoned employee and feel the weight speak to management or maybe feel out your coworker and see if she needs some help. It was so aggressive it felt a little abusive and beyond inappropriate when your on stage helping people. If I see this employee I will go the other direction. I would like to assume she had a bad day but come on there's other ways to move through that stress. I'm writing this review because it affected the vibe of the front half of the store. They were already busy and now probably embarrassed by their team member. I still spend $200 at Kohls and I will be back but I will not be near her. read more

Shoes were left in the front, I came to exchange my daughter shoes for her graduation. Thank you a million!!!! No one wants to go without their morning cuppa joe. We needed a new coffee maker and after a search online we chose to get the exclusive black stainless steel model only available at Kohl's. It was a simple process of paying online once we saw the model we wanted and got a confirmation it would be available the same day for in-store pick up. The Kohl's in Santee was decorated with red Christmas trees and crimson caged ornaments, sleek! The online pickup customer service counter was located on the left side of the store but an attendant had to get our package from the inventory as it was not behind the counter, but overall the process was quick and easy we got what we needed and it looks great! read more
