I've shown this store to my mom because most of their stuff is her style. This past Saturday, I had 3 parties to go to back to back. The dress I had purchased online to work for my day of birthday brunch, baby shower, and engagement party unfortunately was too big on me and I didn't have anything else to wear. I came to Sara's Boutique as soon as they opened at 10am and Kasandra started collecting dresses that would work for the occasion and my petite frame. I was so impressed with how quickly she gathered 6 dresses together for me to choose from. I loved these two dresses I found but eventually decided to get the one that is less white. I can't say enough great things about this boutique!!

The majority of stores were saved when they found a buyer for the company. Buried inside the Grossmont mall, this wasn't the easiest location to get to, but parking near Walmart and World Market seemed to work pretty well. Had a fun conversation talking to a couple of the employees one visit. And my last visit, the poor employees were dealing with a teenager that was having a hard time working up the courage to go through with the piercing that her Mom had paid for. I mean, we were all encouraging her but after a while I had to have one of the employees stop to ring up my purchase. So I don't know if she ever went through with it.

We even saved more than we actually spent Here is what my daughter had to say: "This Claire's has some really great service and the employees are so nice. They were social and friendly and very welcoming! They were also very helpful from helping me not feel so nervous about piercing my ears to helping me find something that shared a birthday with me! The employees were Leslie and Ericka and they were so nice!! I really enjoyed being there and even though it's a small Claire's I stayed there for hours. We had some fun conversations and they helped explain things very well! They also stick to their words. We accidentally left our paper for the aftercare for the piercing I had gotten and she looked for us around the mall just to give us that paper!! Whenever I go to Claire's I'm definitely going to this one!!!" Needless to say, she had a great experience. Thanks for making our girl feel special Leslie & Ericka!

The shop is fairly small but has a great selection of vintage style dresses, shirts and tops. I loved that most of the items went up to 2x but a few items went up to 3x. The woman manning the store was super friendly and helpful. She shared that she actually makes the children's clothing sold in the store and was sitting there sewing before I walked in! The children's clothing had a ton of fun character patterns (mickey, star wars, etc.) They also had a fun selection of vintage inspired jewelry and sunglasses. I ended up purchasing a circle skirt dress for $55. It isn't lined but still appears to be if great quality. The styles were comparable to what you might find on modcloth, but about 20% cheaper. Lots of candle, soap, and lotion options! Theres so many random things to name but all cute. To note, there is specifically a cute little pet section and baby section in the back! They have a wall of the cutest greeting cards. There's also cute dainty jewelry. There's also some La Mesa merch that I promised myself I would buy if my dream of owning a house in La Mesa ever comes true! Great times with great value, the pricing was very reasonable for everything! I was also immediately greeted by the cashier Darav. She was so sweet and I enjoyed our conversation. She was playing Taylor Swift (my favorite). She wrapped up all my items carefully and put it in a bag with ribbon. It was so cute and I can't wait to gift the items I bought! She also let me know if you join their loyalty program you get discounts when you spend a certain amount. It's easy to spend lots of money here because everything is so nice! I was tempted to get it but I changed my mind due to the reason I am giving this store only three stars. The service was really bad. My girlfriends and I just had lunch together and decided to stroll down La Mesa Blvd and check out the little shops. We all (5 of us) walked in excited to check it out. We walked right past the register and the salesclerk behind it. No greeting. No eye contact. We browsed through the store and the whole time the sales lady was chatting with one man and two women at the register. My friends started leaving, but I moved back to the blouse that I liked. I thought about buying it but I couldn't bring myself to support this business Because if the bad customer service. Before waking out I wanted to strike up a conversation with the sales clerk to give her a chance to redeem herself. Now there was only one other person chatting with the sales clerk. They were talking in Spanish and when I asked how long they were in business, the older lady gave and answer and then looked away from Me and went right back to talking in Spanish to the clerk. I felt as if I was invisible! In a nutshell- cute clothes, bad customer service. I believe EVERY customer should be verbally greeted when they walk in and for sure at least some point during their visit. I don't think that's too much to ask. Another note-one friend did make a purchase. After we left she told us that she was given a plastic grocery type bag for her purchase while the chatting couple was given a cute handled bag. Weird.

When the system started playing "Africa" by Toto, and I had my new sandals in hand, I knew it was more than serendipity, 'I was meant to be here'. I read some pretty awful reviews about the customer service here, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I hustled in with my normal jovial jive. Mike kindly greeted me and led me to exactly what I thought I was looking for, Cobian sandals. While Cobian's weren't at all it for me (too tight in the middle of the foot), as I browsed Mike perfectly balanced providing support/giving me product knowledge with allowing me time to try things on slash check things out. In other words, anytime I had questions, which I had quite a few, he was there, but not in a hovery way. He informed me of other products, but really only when it was appropriate. As soon I tried my first pair on, Mike let me know where to find the nearest mirror. I knew I was leaving the store with sandals today, and Mike made that experience a breeze-no hiccups, no funny business, just excellent customer service. The same is to be said for the rest of the lively crew, including the associate who rung me up. Truly, nothing but good vibes here. Thank you to the entire crew! Again, this place was clean!
