The dress I had purchased online to work for my day of birthday brunch, baby shower, and engagement party unfortunately was too big on me and I didn't have anything else to wear. I came to Sara's Boutique as soon as they opened at 10am and Kasandra started collecting dresses that would work for the occasion and my petite frame. I was so impressed with how quickly she gathered 6 dresses together for me to choose from. I loved these two dresses I found but eventually decided to get the one that is less white. They have always had the most unique, colourful, and trendy collections and then colourful classic pieces for me. I am not trendy. ;-) On Wednesday, my mom and I went to lunch and a walkabout and of course had to stop in Sara's. We hadn't been inside in a year or so. I loved walking in and seeing the treasure trove of pieces that caught my immediate attention. The prices on everything are moderate. They haven't raised their prices much over the years which is amazing. I couldn't help myself, Kassandra, Sara's daughter, was assisting us and the other patrons in the shop. She was lovely! She somehow knew without me saying or mentioning or even touching that I am a pantsuit girl. She brought me two and I was sold...hook, line, and sinker! I tried on both that she brought to me and they fit like a glove. The styles and patterns were different between the two and not something I've seen in any other store which is one of the many things that makes Sara's such a gem. When I stood there for a moment and they did come back and told me that the store closes at 7:00pm. It was still before 7:00pm. I get that they want to leave early, but I was there for one thing and they smiled and said we are closed and to come back tomorrow. My review is the lie that the employees said and closed early and got caught. Not good public retention.

The majority of stores were saved when they found a buyer for the company. Buried inside the Grossmont mall, this wasn't the easiest location to get to, but parking near Walmart and World Market seemed to work pretty well. Had a fun conversation talking to a couple of the employees one visit. And my last visit, the poor employees were dealing with a teenager that was having a hard time working up the courage to go through with the piercing that her Mom had paid for. I mean, we were all encouraging her but after a while I had to have one of the employees stop to ring up my purchase. So I don't know if she ever went through with it.

We even saved more than we actually spent Here is what my daughter had to say: "This Claire's has some really great service and the employees are so nice. They were social and friendly and very welcoming! They were also very helpful from helping me not feel so nervous about piercing my ears to helping me find something that shared a birthday with me! The employees were Leslie and Ericka and they were so nice!! I really enjoyed being there and even though it's a small Claire's I stayed there for hours. We had some fun conversations and they helped explain things very well! They also stick to their words. We accidentally left our paper for the aftercare for the piercing I had gotten and she looked for us around the mall just to give us that paper!! The shop is fairly small but has a great selection of vintage style dresses, shirts and tops. I loved that most of the items went up to 2x but a few items went up to 3x. The woman manning the store was super friendly and helpful. She shared that she actually makes the children's clothing sold in the store and was sitting there sewing before I walked in! The children's clothing had a ton of fun character patterns (mickey, star wars, etc.) They also had a fun selection of vintage inspired jewelry and sunglasses. I ended up purchasing a circle skirt dress for $55. It isn't lined but still appears to be if great quality. The styles were comparable to what you might find on modcloth, but about 20% cheaper. I will definitely be back!

I read some pretty awful reviews about the customer service here, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I hustled in with my normal jovial jive. Mike kindly greeted me and led me to exactly what I thought I was looking for, Cobian sandals. While Cobian's weren't at all it for me (too tight in the middle of the foot), as I browsed Mike perfectly balanced providing support/giving me product knowledge with allowing me time to try things on slash check things out. In other words, anytime I had questions, which I had quite a few, he was there, but not in a hovery way. He informed me of other products, but really only when it was appropriate. As soon I tried my first pair on, Mike let me know where to find the nearest mirror. I knew I was leaving the store with sandals today, and Mike made that experience a breeze-no hiccups, no funny business, just excellent customer service.
