I went to 'Elegant Man' on a Friday needing a suit because I had left mine at home. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to find the perfect suit, shirt and tie combination. They made the process easy and enjoyable paying close attention to every detail to make sure the ensemble was just right. I appreciate the professionalism and care they provided. I highly recommend 'Elegant Man' Men's store. read more

Amazing service and care. Stopped in for a short notice "need a business suit" and the team did not disappoint. They went out of their way to make sure I had what I needed and took care of tailoring while I was there! read more

I just had the most wonderful experience at elegant man, and I'm pretty sure the owner helped me out as I was referred to him by my cousins and was told that he usually only deals with men, but I had a last-minute alteration for a suit that I had for myself and Munther was so caring, knowing that I was the only girl in his elegant man and when I needed to try it on, he just made sure no one else was there and he got my suit ready and even when I came to pick it up there was no parking and he instructed me to go in the back alley and he had somebody bring it out to me and it was just top notch service from beginning to end and if you read the reviews about him, you'll see that my review is almost like everyone else I wish I had someone that I could send to him so they could get taken care of by him but until then here's my review! Keep up the good work you have a beautiful business you're running read more

This place is terrible. I recently bought a few shirts and tried to return them. I've returned items here before without the original wrappers and never had an issue. This time, I brought the shirts back with the receipt, and they were completely untouched and unworn, but they still refused to accept the return. Very disappointing customer service. read more

I'm so thankful for this place. My son misplaced his suit last minute for a party to attend for his best friend five minutes before they close they stayed until they got him a suit ready put him together. He dressed from there. I went to the party. amazing service. Thank you for the excelant customer service. Will definitely be back! read more

I came across The Elegant Man when we needed to find a suit for my husband, and I am so glad that I did! Mike has an incredible eye for style and size. He immediately picked out several options, all of which looked fantastic. He also took the time to ensure the entire outfit was perfect, from the suit to shirt, tie, pocket square, and shoes. Even better, he had everything tailored so it fit my husband flawlessly. We walked out with one suit and several shirts the first time, and then headed back the next time we needed an outfit for my 30th high school reunion. The outfit was not one my husband would have picked on his own, but Mike was spot on again! My husband was voted "Most Dapper Spouse" at the reunion (proud wife moment). We returned for a wedding - it was a gay wedding in Palm Springs so we wanted my hubs to look extra stylish, and Mike delivered again! The combo of slim fit black jeans, white shirt, gray jacket, white pocket square, and white sneakers was {chef's kiss}. Our most recent visit was for a prom-themed birthday party. Mike managed to find a suit that is super stylish (think Tom Ford) but still giving an 80's vibe. I'm in love with this outfit! We will be back for two upcoming weddings...and for pretty much any other wardrobe needs for my husband. I cannot recommend Mike and The Elegant Man highly enough! read more

The Elegant Man - My favorite hat, I didn't know that sold hats. He went to the back and came out with this master piece. LOL - Men's Clothing Near Me - El Cajon, California

After struggling to find a suite that properly fitted me. I went here in a whim. The owner took one look at me and got me a suite that fit perfectly after some alterations. Best suit I ever got. And the price is well worth it. Highly recommend if your looking for some nice clothes read more

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. After shopping around at quite a few places looking for the perfect tux for my wedding, the gentleman who helped me at another store pointed me in the direction of this store. Being a curvier queer woman, finding a tux that fits is a bit of a daunting task to face alone but Mike's service was absolutely wonderful. He made the whole process streamlined and smooth. He helped me pick out the right jacket size just by looking at me practically! It was magic. He also helped find all the other aspects of the tux to complete the look where I could try it all on, got marked for tailoring right then and there and told me the price. I couldn't believe how fairly priced the tux and multiple alterations were. I am so excited to pick up my tux next week (talk about a 5 star turnaround time) and be all set feeling confident and ready to be wed! Mike you're the best, truly. Thank you for making this an inclusive spot. Highly recommend it to any human. read more

Apparently they do not rent suits any longer, only sell per the rather rude person I spoke with on the phone. The exact quote I received when I asked about renting a suit... "No Rent Suit". The Yelp information needs to be updated to indicate they no longer rent suits. read more

I had one of the worst experiences at Elegant Man. When you're trying on suits, they act like you shouldn't ask too many questions, and if you do, they speak to you in a rude and disrespectful tone. I found the suit I wanted and also looked at some shoes. I asked for a discount, and the assistant said he would check with his boss. But when I politely tried to ask the boss myself, he responded in a very insulting way, saying, "I'm not talking to you," which was completely uncalled for. It's really sad to see grown men treat customers like this in their own shop. I hope they change their attitude and start treating people with more courtesy in the future. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. My son went in this afternoon to ask for pricing for suits for a funeral, but instead of the employees helping him or giving him recommendations, they turned him away and told him to go look at Ross or Burlington because 'he didn't look like he wore suits' and kicked him out. My son is your typical skater so he dresses like skaters usually do,but he wanted to be presentable for such an occasion. The workers here clearly aren't professional or welcoming and are discriminatory against people who don't fit 'their type'. Avoid coming here at all costs and take your business elsewhere that's deserving of their customers. read more

This spot is awesome and they provide excellent service. They got me a perfect Tux for the cost of a rental for a Marine Ball that I went to. Since we had such fast and quality service the first time, we went back to find something for my wedding in Mexico. Lots of options and they can get stuff ordered very quickly, which was clutch. We loved how the brown/tan suit worked out for our beach wedding in Playa del Carmen. 5 of 5, would recommend and will go back again. read more

I can't recommend this business enough. We skipped over several suit shops in Chula Vista -- where we live -- to check out this spot and Im glad we did. Pros -Friendly service -Up-to-date on fashion trends -Quick and precise tailoring -GREAT PRICES -Inventory Cons -Parking Our island wedding was put on hold, but hey, we're alive and won't complain. We decided to get married anyways, but through the courthouse and at the very last minute. I re-used an old holiday party dress, but my man didn't have anything to wear. We found The Elegant Man on Yelp and had a good feeling. I've found that small-businesses in El Cajon tend to go above and beyond. We walked in and I was happy to find that we were not bombarded at the door by a salesman. We looked around for a few minutes and then approached by Mike...I think his name was Mike, lol! I told him what I was looking for since my man had no say in anything other than the maybe the loafers, LOL! In a few short short words, he knew exactly what to do and got to work. He was unbelievably fast! I told him traditional colors with an athletic fit and loafers. He knew what size my man was by just looking at him and so there was only one fitting and it was perfect. He began customizing the suit to my man's body frame -- and again -- without saying anything, he just knew. My man has very broad shoulders with a smaller lower body and so Mike was able to get the athletic fit look without highlighting my man's little legs, haha! He even made sure to show just a little ankle skin between the loafers and bottom of the pants. My man reluctant since he has small ankles, but he looked soooooo sharp! The suit was ready for pickup within two days, although I was told that they could provide it by the next day. For everything we got, I was shocked at how cheap it was. I highly recommend!!! read more

Here in El Cajon for the first time to attending a family friend's wedding! My friend is getting married tomorrow & I didn't have a suit. I just googled a random tailor in hops that I am not stranded and have to skip the wedding. I entered the store and was immediately given 5-star service. The selection of suits is vast, made with high quality material and several styles. Mundher took excellent care of me and tailored the suit perfectly/to my liking! He saved the day! The prices are extremely reasonable; moving forward I will order from here if I need a suit! read more

I was looking for a blue suit for a wedding I was planning to attend. After looking through many of the reviews on yelp, I decided to give it a try. I have gone to Nordstroms, Mens Warehouse etc. but never received the service I thought I should expect. I just walked in the door and was astonished by the great selecting available to me. Mike (His real name is MUNDHER), awesome guy. He took a look at me and immediately pulled the right color and size for me. I needed alterations as well, so he got this done as well with no extra charge in just 30 minutes. I never had this type of experience. Great service and great price. Now I feel a lot better going to the wedding. Yohoo....... read more

Unfortunately I hate that I have to put a one star because their reviews were so awesome is what brought me here to look for something nice for my 12 year old son to wear to a wedding this Saturday we walked in and as soon as we walked in their were two men in their unpacking boxes they didn't even try to measure my son or see if they had anything in their for him to wear they looked at him and automatically said they didn't have anything for him because of his height my son is 5'6 weighs 155 pounds smh although they looked like they had a nice selection it sucks that they didn't even try to help us they just said sorry and we walked out and the store was empty when we went in their so I'm not sure if it was just cause they were unpacking boxes and didn't wanna service us or what it was but I definitely will not ever go back. read more

I needed a suit for a wedding and a work trip but pushed it off until the week of. I found The Elegant Man and saw the great reviews so I decided to go on a Friday. The store itself is awesome. It is huge, organized, and has just about everything you can think of. I got there Friday at around 3pm and there were a few people in the store. I had no clue what I was shopping for and needed help. I waited for a bit while (did not catch any names) someone helped another customer. When he was done, he took one look at me and led me to where my sizes were. Spot on. There were so many options so I picked a couple I liked and tried them on. He quickly chalked the pants of the suit that I liked and led me to checkout. I needed a shirt as well and he very nonchalantly pulled one and was about to ring me up. I asked if I could try the shirt on and he smiled and took it out of the package for me. It fit perfectly. The beautiful suit and the shirt cost about 30% of what I was expecting to pay and I noticed that everything in the store was very reasonably priced. He asked me when I needed it so I told him by Monday. He paused for a moment and said give me 5 minutes. Perfectly tailored and pressed. If it was not for the initial wait, I could have been in and out of the store with an amazing suit in like 15 minutes. These guys are (obviously) experts in what they do and this was a great overall experience for a novice like myself. read more

Excellent selection of quality suits at amazing prices. Customer service is second to none!

I came in here to purchase a new suit as the ones I've been wearing were going on probably eight years old. When I walked in, I wasn't greeted, but I was looked at like I was going to shoplift or rob the store by an older gentleman. I eventually got helped and they new what size I needed immediately and got me setup with a fantastic looking suit. They tailored it in a few days and it fit perfectly. The suit and associated accessories were priced reasonably and I ultimately left the store feeling like I got a good deal on a nice suit. The customer service could use some connection and personality- it was pretty off-putting. The selection and attention to detail here is second to none. I'd definitely be back to purchase additional suits and formal wear. read more

I took my son to The Elegant Man for his first suit for prom and was very impressed with the service they provided. She took one look at my son and nailed his size with the first jacket! Without measuring! She then pulled out a pair of slacks, got him sized and marked for tailoring within 15 minutes from walking in the door. They had everything he needed and then some in stock. They also had on the spot tailoring and had his suit done in the next 30 minutes! We went on a Wednesday during the car show so we had something to do while they tailored his slacks.. They were very professional, courteous, prompt and made our experience the best I have ever had buying a suit. No pressure, very affordable and friendly service! My son looked very stylish and matched his girlfriend impeccably! This is my new "Go To Place" for suits, apparel and tuxedos! Much Thanks to The Elegant Man! read more

The Elegant Man is amazing! Definitely the place to go in San Diego for buying a tuxedo. They were the only place that had what I was looking for, and they outdid themselves on customer service. They help me with three best man and son They worked with me on pricing and sizing, and were extremely supportive of my schedule. and I visited the shop about 4 times. I had been in previously to verify that they carried what I was looking for. The tailoring was great (and priced way better than I expected), and they were even able to get my shirt tailored (purchased online). I can't thank them enough, and my bride was amazed when she saw me in the tux as she came down the aisle. read more

The Bottom Line: Best clothing, style, and prices in San Diego! After years of people telling me I need to update my wardrobe I dropped by The Elegant Man. Two hours later I walked out after purchasing a whole new wardrobe with all cloths altered to fit perfectly. Whenever I'm out at work or with friends at dinner random people stop me, compliment my clothing, and ask where I buy my cloths. Instead of going to a big name department store to buy an ill fitting suit, go to The Elegant Man and get something that will fit your frame and draw countless compliments. read more

I walked in knowing I needed a new suit but not knowing what color, type, or size suit I wanted, which is probably one of the most challenging type of customers. But no, Gigi was super helpful and before I knew it, we had my size down and was narrowed down on color and style. Then it was onto tailoring with Mundher. I picked up the suit a couple days later and the tailoring was perfect. Great experience and will definitely be back when I need to add to my suit collection. read more

The review is way over due. I've been coming here since 2013. The shop definitely made lots of upgrades and looks super nice inside. The suits are of European style. In total I have bought 5 suits from here and brought them new customers. The place is definitely a hidden gem when it comes to suits. A super wide selection of every color possible. You want sparkles on a suit? They got it! You want a suit to meet the president? They got it! The quality is amazing, not like some low quality over priced crap they sell at corporate chain stores. The fact that every suit you buy gets tailored just for you is awesome. The customer service is beyond amazing and they're extremely flexible with due dates. The prices are beyond reasonable for what you're getting. I bought my prom, graduation, college, party, and work suits from here! There's plenty of parking on the neighboring streets.
