Shrimp Creamy Coconut Curry Shrimp, Chicken Tikka Masala, Naan

Underwhelming sums up my experience tonight. Tikka Masala is close to the Lake Hills QFC. The restaurant has a small parking lot, which it shares with a Pakistani food truck. It's located just south of the Shell gas station but the parking lots do not connect. I ordered chicken tikka masala, fish coconut curry, and pain naan. I was especially keen to try their namesake dish, and love fish coconut curry which my go-to (India Gate) no longer seems to offer. Unfortunately when I picked it up, they had made shrimp coconut curry by mistake. I didn't want to waste the food so I took it as is. Overall the food lacked the depth and complexity that I love so much in Indian food. The tikka masala is okay and I appreciate the bite-sized chunks of chicken, but the chicken was dry. The rice was unseasoned. The coconut curry is creamy and tasty, but lacks depth. It tastes like straight up coconut milk and cashews. One of the shrimp tails was left on by mistake. The naan was packaged in a paper bag. At first I really liked that because it didn't get soggy, but then I realized it dried out quickly. It did nicely to sop up the curries, though. I may try again when I really want a fish coconut curry and give them a second chance, but I'll probably stick with India Gate as my favorite Indian restaurant in the immediate area.

    Chicken biriyani

DO NOT GO!!! Rice was fine and seasoned well, but that was the height of the chicken biriyani I order for takeout at Tikka Masala restaurant. The chicken seemed like it was hours over cooked and I received a single drumstick and 3 small pieces of chicken I could imagine were either quartered breast or quartered thighs. The chicken was so over cooked that it seemed like it was from opening. It was so bad that the rice had broken brittle pieces of bone that i almost broke a tooth on. Rice I started eating before eating into the only thing that had a bone in it which was the single overcooked dry drumstick. I had to stop eating my meal because I was afraid to bite into another piece of bone after having found 3 already. At The price of 20.40 cents cash I got a mostly rice filled dish with 4 pieces of overcooked dry chicken and an almost trip to the dentist. No veggies. 2 2oz containers of yogurt. No onion, Cilantro, lime, no egg, no nothin! Then I looked on Yelp and saw that it got an "okay" and three fails before that listed by the health department which I screen shotted and put in the photos for all to see. The restaurant was empty when I arrived and had a single visitor for carry out that went off with two full bags of "food" (if you want to call this death trap that) while I waited 15 minutes for chicken that tasted and seemed like was from opening and rice that although was cooked well, had broken bone pieces in it and no veggies. I had high hopes because of the pics I've seen on Yelp prior to visiting this place. Maybe those are more specialty, or were taken from the restaurant owners and posted through a 3rd party friend of the business. Possibly they serve that to their customers that dine in... but honestly for an Indian restaurant if you're not going to get take out biriyani right you're missing the point. Ambiance was subpar. Definitely not a place I'd love to hang out in. I've seen the outdoor area at night look nice from a distance, but it's not safe, dirty and stinks. Random trailers and cars that park there. Also 2 food trucks. Only 1 is up and running. has trash littered next to it by the sidewalk and has a sit down bus stop that's normally trashed and probably has rats. Definitely raccoons. I live next door in the apartments so I know these things. Am I ever going to try it because of my experience at the restaurant.... Nooooo. Seems like it's two separate businesses sharing a plot for financial gain. Green minivan with a broken windshield driven by what seems like the owner. Often doing runs. I don't think they offer delivery... Does he wash his hands after his runs? I don't know. I wouldn't go back or recommend this place for any aspect. Unfortunate because they are the only Indian restaurant close by and I had been craving Indian food for a couple weeks and was excited to give it a go. Honestly had a bad vibe from the entrance. Should have listened to my instincts and ran. Don't go. I'd go back and ask for my money to be returned, but I'm already home after a long day and don't want to deal with it so I'm gonna write this extra long detailed review in hopes that someone out there needs it and to let the owners know their product is a hazard to the public and they should be ashamed. I couldn't imagine someone taking pride in this soooo is it a front? I don't know. Just Don't go. Don't even think about going. Do not go. I hope you look at reviews before trying sketch looking restaurants. Heck even I did and wasn't thorough enough which is why I'm writing this. For you, the people that work and expect decent food at restaurants. Food that won't physically hurt you. Please don't go. Live your life without this regret. Don't go. Make me feel like I'm saving someone from what I went through. If you value eating food without the fear of breaking your teeth and going to the dentist... DO NOT GO. If you don't want to get sick.... DO NOT GO! Only go if you want to feel taken advantage of, pain and regret. If that's your style then please by all means eat here. For the rest of us that are sane and admire thoughtful life saving reviews... DO NOT GO!

I ordered paneer butter masala and grabbed a mango lassi from the fridge. I returned about 5 min later and it was ready for me! They do not ask for spice preference, and the things I have ordered all have mild heat (equivalent to 1-2 stars). This works great for me. The meals all come with rice, which is great. The food is definitely better for takeout, as the curry and rice were in different containers and it was a little awkward to try to eat it there. That said, it held up great and was a perfect meal on the couch! The ambiance in the food court is so so. Really depends on the time of day. Lots of crying babies there when we went, so we took it to go.

This was a Friday, so I was told the lunch specials were no longer valid. There attendant explained that it's only valid Monday-Thursday. I find that kind of lame, like it's the middle of the day on Friday c'mon. I got the Butter Chicken meal which was ok. The chicken was a bit dry, but the sauce was nice and creamy. About 2 servings. The meal also comes with Naan, it was 3 nice sized pieces. They were hot and tasted fresh. The presentation was nice as my expectations for food court food a slightly lower. Getting it "for here" over "to go" probably helped with that. I'd consider going again but definitely would try for a lunch special to save a few bucks.

I'd say overall, the menu was a little pricey, but they've got some pretty unique offerings. Parking is pretty easy as it's a shared lot with crossroads. Malaiyo is effectively just textbook light, whipped cream with a ton of saffron. They definitely don't skimp on the saffron, so if you enjoy that floral, slightly herbal flavor, this will be the dessert for you. Jalebi Rabri came out piping hot and it's got a crunch that once you bite through, the sugar syrup just gushes out. It's definitely tasty, but it was SO sweet. I'd probably put in an order and share this with a group as more than one in a sitting might be a bit tough. Banarasi Lassi was just a little tart, creamy, and had a little bit of saffron swirled through. It had just a touch of the floral saffron flavor and the sliced almonds on top were a nice touch. It's definitely on the thicker side, so more of a spoon situation than a drink.

The old navy and Barnes and nobles have their old logo, there are middle aged artists and craftsman tabling their handmade pottery, quilted aprons, or homegrown beeswax, an extremely worn out play area with children running around, you can see people on computers at the library which is connected to the food court? and kids riding on those kiddie car rides that rock back and forth... everything was pure nostalgia and it's all preserved here in Bellevue. Anyways the food was amazing; I didn't know what half the menu items were but I trusted google reviews for this one and the portions and range of flavors did not disappoint.
