The final bill was slightly less than the estimate as the camera cost was less--how often does that happen? I'd definitely use them again!

Every single one of them was professional, accommodating, and extremely nice from start to finish. I walked in with only a general idea of what I wanted, and they patiently guided me through the many audio options out there without ever making me feel rushed or overwhelmed. One gentleman in particular especially helped me narrow everything down. He asked the right questions about how I use my truck and what kind of sound I was after, then helped me land on the perfect setup: a new amp, a sealed subwoofer, and upgraded door speakers. He clearly knew his stuff and explained everything in plain language so I felt confident in my choices instead of just guessing. If you're planning to wait while your install is done, don't worry -- they have two leather sofas and a TV in the back that are super comfortable. Honestly, I ended up taking a nap while my truck was worked on. The workmanship was fantastic, and the sound difference from stock is night and day. I can't say enough about how happy I am with my new system. If you're looking to upgrade your car audio in the Winchester area, this is the team to see.

The symptoms were very unusual--the screen would go black at certain vehicle speeds and when using the turn signals, while the radio and other functions continued to work. Michael and Jared took the time to listen carefully to the history of the problem and immediately recognized that it could be related to the aftermarket backup camera interface rather than the factory CUE system itself. Within minutes they identified that the camera interface settings had been changed, likely after a battery replacement, and corrected the configuration. The problem was resolved immediately. What impressed me most was that they didn't try to sell me unnecessary parts or repairs. They quickly diagnosed the actual cause, fixed it, and didn't even charge me for their time. That level of honesty, knowledge, and customer service is hard to find. I highly recommend Safe & Sound Mobile Electronics to anyone with automotive electronics, infotainment, or backup camera issues. Afterwards, I contacted Hot Tint in May 2022. They responded to me that day and told me to stop by the shop. I made an appointment for later that week. When I arrived, I asked them to install the unit and a backup camera. I can't recall how much time it took but it was done in a reasonable amount of time and I'm happy with their service. I called a few other shops around this time. A couple had other projects and couldn't get to me for a few months. A couple of others didn't want to touch the van because of its age, manufactured in 1989. Hot Tint was straight-forward. They said let them see what I have and they'll let me know if they could use what I had or needed something else. I appreciate that approach. I did have a couple of problems but they were responsive. While driving home, my radio rebooted twice. The cable came loose so they told me to return to the shop so that they could fix it. The second is my clock resets to 12:00 every time the vehicle is restarted. They told me to bring it by so that they can fix it but I haven't. I'm rarely on the screen to see the time and just had other priorities. I mention these items to show that they were responsive and willing to troubleshoot the problem. I rate them high also because there are many mechanics and technicians who can work on a classic vehicle but refuse to do so. There are a handful like Hot Tint that jumps right in and do the job. I'm finally ready to add an amp and subwoofer so I will be contacting them again soon.

However - my car, a Corolla driven infrequently and garage kept was not a difficult job. I just wanted a good exterior cleaning and wax and a thorough interior cleaning and with special attention to the upholstery shampoo - which I mentioned on the phone. The job I got was one rung up from the local carwash. No attempt was made to buff out any surface imperfections and the interior is such a disappointment to see every time I get in the car. I could have done a better job with warm water and a shop-vac. The car just wasn't that dirty, so they could have spent a little effort on the few spots on the very durable fabric seats. I think they just didn't bother because it's a little economy car and they had already been paid months ago, so it wasn't important to them. The evening I picked it up, the staff were oohing over an expensive sports car in the lot - I just think they have more interest in flashy cars than in customer service for the average Jane. It's been several weeks since the service, but it still bothers me every time I see the spots on the upholstery.
