A very good friend and fellow "car guy" highly recommended this place and I can see why. The outcome for my son's 2003 Mercury Marauder was PHENOMENAL! I originally submitted an online "work request" form on their website, and after not receiving a reply for a few days, I decided to give them a call. They quickly pulled up my online work request and from that "first contact" to when I picked up my vehicle, the experience was absolutely fantastic! The wiring on the Marauder, which had an aftermarket stereo installed (with an amp and sub) as well as an aftermarket sunroof, was a bit of a mess. Plus, the stereo was inop at the time I took it in (which turned out to be a blown fuse). I went without an appointment and one of their techs (Hector) came out and took a look at the car and listened patiently as a "non-audiophile" (me) tried to explain what the "problems" were with the current setup in the car. Well, he was very kind and seemed to know what needed to be done. Aaron said it would be 2 hours labor and told me that I could leave the car and they would try to get to it, because their next open appointment was a few days away. Sure enough, they were able to get to it the next day, and when they called to let me know they had checked it out, and had completed most of the work, they suggested that they could fix something else that wasn't working properly (for an additional charge), and I said "please do!" When I went to pick up the car, I spoke with Hector (again), and he gave me a quick rundown on what he was able to accomplish. He said there was one more thing that he would recommend be done (replacing one of the power wires that went from the battery to the fuse for the amp) and Aaron, who was there with me in the shop, asked Hector how long it would take (like 10 minutes), and then he asked me if I could wait, and i said "yes" and so they took care of it right then and there and didn't even charge me for it! I was absolutely stunned!! I can't say enough about how everything turned out. Admittedly, this work was fairly basic and straight forward, and while it was not "cheap", I think the cost was absolutely reasonable for what they were able to do, and the results were more than satisfactory! I asked for an itemized labor breakdown on a wireless Apple CarPlay + USB-C quote and was told the labor alone was $775 -- for a plug-and-play install -- on top of parts priced well over retail. When I asked them to justify the labor, the salesperson and owner became hostile and asked me to leave the store. A confident shop welcomes questions about its pricing. I took my business elsewhere and saved hundreds. Get every line in writing before you commit here. To be honest, I hate yelp. But I only came here to specifically post this because I can't post another review on google. On two different occasions did my car get broken into, first time my window, second my door handle. The second time was far more detrimental as I had pretty much 2-3k worth of audio equipment stolen. After that I knew it was enough. Absolute Electronix saved me the worry of having my car broken into for the third time. I asked for their best security system earlier last week, and within the same week on Friday I dropped my car off in the morning and about 4 hours later my car was ready to be picked up. Upon picking up I was showed the key details of my new system and how it seamlessly works with my old fob. I was always iffy about these aftermarket systems up until I saw it for myself how much I was missing out. over priced, the customer service is sub par at best and they attack any negative criticism instead of customer service resolution, they are biased but most of the time you have to know what you looking to have done and compare it to quality. They'll over price you so that you don't want to get the work done or they are over compensated for a job they didn't want to do. Additionally they reply to customers on their reviews without taking accountability and avoiding context. The owner isn't aware of what goes on at the shop Or why some employees are over quoting customers but not all hope is lost. Six years after the installation, everything is still working perfectly except the USB port for connecting my phone got a little wiggly and disconnects periodically. I stopped by on Saturday afternoon and they replaced the USB port under a lifetime warranty and even replaced the key fob battery for free as a kind gesture. Wanted a front camera installed in my wife's 2019 Lexus ES 350. Found the best (& only?) option was the Beat-Sonic CS11A Lexus Front Camera Interface. I asked the owner if he could recommend an installation shop in Maryland and he sent me to Absolute Electronix in Rockville. These guys are awesome! Even though they are 2 hours away, it was well worth the trip. Aaron helped find the best location for the camera and it's switch and went to work. They have a deal with a nearby Toyota/Nissan dealer for a very inexpensive car rental while we waited which gave us a chance to visit the Air and Space Museum at Dulles. The installation was impeccable, we couldn't ask for a better job. There was a snag with the camera interface box which Aaron and Eric at Beat-Sonic solved in the best way possible. The installation was perfect. I can't speak more highly of the entire crew. This review is so late and well deserved. I don't know why it was sitting in my drafts for so long I thought I posted it years ago. They've done soo much work for my cars. I was I. Love with the mustang... until I owned one. The only thing that made the car livable was AE installing a radio with Apple car play. With all the police brutality in the news I decided to get a dash cam set. The first dash cam I got l for my wife's SUV, my wife wanted us to self install. Being she's and an electrical engineer, sure. Why not? But she had me run the wires under the car molding. That went mostly ok. Mostly. I had the rear cam wire dangling a bit. :-( I snagged it and broke the cam. I got the new RAV 4 and was adamant that only 1 team was installing this in my new SUV. they guys at AE did and even better than expected job. I expected it would be professionally run in the molding. I was not expecting them to go through the tail hatch conduit. The installation looks so seamless, you would think Toyota installed it st the factory. The guys have a lot of flashy trophies in their shop and those trophies are WELL DESERVED. read more

In short, take your car elsewhere. To be fair, they USED to be a good company. Apparently things changed and all of the issues revolve around customer service. Customer service 101: 1. When a customer schedules an appointment at 10 AM, driving up to the store at 10:10 AM is not a good practice. 2. When a customer schedules an appointment at 10 AM, they expect work to begin at 10 AM, not 3 hours later. 3. When the tech states that installation should take 3-4 hours to complete, they expect the installation to take 3-4 hours, NOT A DAY AND A HALF. You don't know the customer's schedule to hold their car for longer than you stated initially. 4. If staffing levels change suddenly impacting completion times, contact your customers to advise them that things will take longer and they can plan accordingly. Do not surprise the customer after they already dropped off the car, especially if you said it would take 3-4 hours. 5. If there are unforseen issues with the install, contact the customer, advise them and get feedback on how they want you to proceed. Don't just jerry-rig an ugly solution as if that's acceptable. Example 1: Placing a big screen radio DIRECTLY in front of the ac vents, when the screen can be adjusted to ensure vent usage. Example 2: Force-fitting a radio with the unit sticking out an inch instead of calling the customer to find out what he/she wants. 6. (Basic) Always speak professionally in your environment. You never know who is listening. Most of these issues could have been mitigated or completely avoided with proper communication to the customer. At this point, I don't see myself going back to this company for any future services. read more

The cue touch screen system in my 2018 car went bad no longer responding to touch directives. Warranty had expired. The dealership quoted their replacement price, $2000. I would have gone without rather than pay 2K. My neighborhood mechanic advised me to reach out to Absolute Electronix as a possible option for replacing my car's touchscreen. Absolute Electronix was able to provide me with the same brand replacement, installation, programming the new system and backed it all up with a three year guarantee. Absolute Electronix charged 1/3 of what the dealership wanted. Until my car's touch screen died, I was of the belief that electrical car repair really needs to be taken care of at the dealership. It's been 3 weeks or so since my new audio install so I wanted to leave my thoughts. First is- OMG. The system AE installed is beyond my expectations. I bought a new 2023 Lexus ES 350 this spring. Great car- horrible sound system. Not bottom of the line but without the mark levinson system. I mean ...horrible audio. These guys are awesome. I ordered an under-the-seat, powered subwoofer (JBL Bass Pro Nano) from Crutchfield for my 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime and brought it in for installation. Came in on a Thursday, got a quote for $570 and appointment scheduled for the upcoming Saturday. When I showed up Saturday with the sub, Chris and the technician shared concern I might not hear the sub if it were installed in the trunk like I wanted, but they found a perfect spot for it right under the driver seat. Installation was completed in 2-3 hours, and the total cost ended up being $150 less than quoted because it turned out the sub included a part they thought they'd need to use from their own inventory. I've now got a great sounding sub with a convenient knob under the steering wheel, and it was installed at a super reasonable price. TBH, I think the sub might have been fine in the trunk, since even at 25% gain it shakes my seat lol. Will definitely be coming back here for any future work. read more

You probably pay a tad bit more than Best Buy , but it's well worth it. You get a warranty on the labor and they know what they are doing. When I arrived I was treated like a guest in someone's house. I was offered beverages and given control over the TV while they worked on my car. I called this place looking for some advice about a radio that I need fixed in my car. I was trying to just get some general information and had the specs of my car and just wanted to get an idea of the range of prices they charged to fix radios or replace them. The guy was very short with me after saying he could not help me unless I brought the car in. I said I understood, but I was actually selling it and just trying to give the person buying it some general info and their contact information. I said is there anything at all you can give me? He proceeded to tell me that they weren't the shop for me and and I wasn't listening and hung up on me. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. Honestly, I have never had someone be this randomly rude. Update: the owner replied and continued to be rude. I was clearly wasting his time with my questions. From the beginning of our conversation he spoke down to me and rushed me. He told me he attempted to explain that he needed to see my car again and again, we weren't even on the phone long enough for that to be true. He hung up on me after saying clearly we can't work together. I've never written such an awful review, but it seems like he has anger issues. If I could give Absolute Electronix 10 stars I would! So, I have a 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Plus with the factory sound system. The system isn't "horrible" but it definitely doesn't excite either - MEH. I spoke with Ata (the owner) at Absolute and I gave him carte blanche to install a new sound system at a certain budget. The equipment installed required some customization. Ok, a LOT of customization. The tweeters were installed in the A pillars in the front and they look like they were factory installed. When I heard the system for the first time it blew me away! I knew that it would sound better but the way the system is tuned is truly magical. Hats off to Ata and his crew at Absolute Electronix! We wanted remote starts put into a couple of cars, so I started calling around and talking to people. 2 of the vendors had Groupon deals, so I started there. It seems they both do the same thing, add ons that are required are not included, so the price is the same with our without the Groupon. The bad part is Groupons expire, and you have nothing. Once I learned this, I started calling spa with good reviews. The guys at Absolute were great. They won't give you an exact quote on the phone because they want to be sure of the car and the options you want. They did look up the car and give me several options, and they were both friendly and professional. I went in and got quotes and made an appointment. Of course, when we got there, my wife decided she wanted a different set of options when she saw them; and instead of it being a problem, they made sure the parts were in stock and pressed on. I wanted to be sure I was happy with the first car before making a second appointment, but when we went to pick up her car everything was good so I asked about an appointment for the other car. He said they finished their scheduled installs early and could do the other now if we wanted. A bit later, we got the call that it was finished. The guy at the front was patient and explained everything, helped get the app working, and demonstrated all the features while we were there. AND, they check the car over when they get it, so we were informed one of the brake lights was out. It seems like a small thing but something we can take care of since we know. These guys have done four installations for me and they've all been great. The first was a receiver to replace the factory stereo in my WRX, which lacked a video screen and could not be used with Apple CarPlay. The installation was done perfectly; both the main unit and the microphone looked like they'd come with the car. I soon had problems with getting my phone to play nice with the new receiver but neglected for a long time to bring the car back. Absolute Electronix took care of the problem, no questions asked. When I later had what I thought was a problem with the USB port for the receiver, they again took care of it, putting considerable time and effort into contacting the manufacturer to get the problem solved. The second was a blind-spot detection system, also for the WRX. It works great and the installation was perfect, leaving no trace that it was a retrofit. The third and fourth were a new set of rear speakers and a replacement amp for my ancient TSX. Same story as before. The shop is a bit out of the way for me but I wouldn't think of going elsewhere. I trust these guys to provide honest advice and quality service and to stand by their work -- all hard to come by these days. read more

My husband used this place to update an older car. It's a big car and we felt we needed a back up camera because of have small kids as well as Bluetooth and maps so we don't have to mess with phone while driving. My husband was able to drop off his car and keys the night before service and the instal took all o the next day. There was a small hiccup. I arrived for pick up and they had a last minute install issue that ended up taking another hour. But they have a chair and water for while you wait. Also, a couple days late when my husband was having some issues with the system, they immediately made time for him to bring it back for some tweaks. Now everything os good to go. I originally was sent here via a purchase from Groupon as they advertised the store would be able to set the security alarm to the manufacturers key fob. After a l long discussion with the their knowledgeable staff and owner I decided to upgrade my purchase from just an alarm to include a front and rear dash cam system. It took awhile, which is completely understood for all of the work being done, they took the time to walk me through everything from the remote start, connecting apps for remote start and dash cams an hour after closing. They first dropped the ball by scheduling our appointment early in the morning without having the part needed for the installation. We showed up on time only to find out that the part had not arrived yet. This resulted in wasting 2 hours of our time. After they did the installation, we noticed that critical functions were no longer working in our car (heat unit, electrical). When we spoke to Chris about it, he was rude to us. Conveniently, this was AFTER he got our sale. Getting our questions answered was very difficult. It was a nightmare going through the process to fix what they messed up. We will never let them touch our car again. Do yourself a favor. Save yourself headaches, multiple visits, and a waste of money, time, and sanity. Life got the better of me and I got too busy and didn't get back until a year later. Very disappointed. I came there to have the oem HIDs replaced in my 2006 Cadillac DTS which was done, but I noticed that the left turn signal wasn't working, so I mentioned it to Chris and he said "I was instructed to replace the HIDs..." What got me confused and angry is that he had a checklist and noticed the issues while headlamps were out, but still didn't notify me about it..I had the bulbs in the bag.
