I've a medical condition that requires shielding from unfiltered day light. With a new car, the folks at Cutting Edge Tint provided both useful advice window treatment installation for my Volvo XC90 that, IMO, improved the overall appearance of the vehicle and also provided essential shading. I entrusted the vehicle with them and returned in a few hours to a job done perfectly. No bubbles nor streaks in the film, no odors, no evidence they worked in the car - it was clean, and there were stickers on the window controls to ensure they were not operated before the film was "set" which required a few days. No problem. The guys working there seemed chill and even welcomed my corny dad jokes. Nice. Total for all windows including windscreen was change under $850.00. NOTE: A Medical doctor's order, and registration with law enforcement is needed for legally using darker tints. Don't be caught without it. read more

Moved in from out of state and needed to get tint off for inspection. Called a couple places and this spot was the fastest response and service I got. When I called I got a honest quote that didn't change when I got there. Thankfully they had availability so I got in quick(lucked out with same day). They were able to remove my tint for inspection and scheduled me so I could come back and get new ones on. The service here was friendly and welcoming and straightforward which I appreciate. Also I always like supporting local business. If you need tint for your car this spot rocks! Will definitely be back with any future cars of mine. read more

The folks at Cutting Edge Tint are phenomenal. My fellow Yelpers were spot on with this one. I came in for a window tint estimate for my older model car. The lady at the front was very pleasant and explained all the options. I am not a car savant, but I do know that 3M tints are among the industry's leaders. That is the main brand they carry. After showing me the options with test pieces on my car I was able to design and price out my look. The prices was well within my $250-$300 budget. Only problem was that when my factory tint was considered with the shade I wanted it would have made my tints darker than the legal limit. Since I am not a scofflaw, I decided against tints. However, I did see CET's work on one of my good Yelp friend's car and it was high quality with no bubbles or unnecessary cuts. When my current ride gives up the ghost, I will be taking my next car here for a full tint job. Fair prices, sanitary interior with all the proper COVID precautions, nice and informative people. Five stars and highly recommended. read more

I had to get the tinting on the windows on my car removed to pass MD state inspection. Called that morning and Jose was great. We scheduled for that afternoon and he was ready when I got there. Pricing was $50 less than what my mechanic said his guy could do and the work was done quickly. There are a few chairs to wait in and a 7-11 and some fast food options nearby but just be prepared that there's no other place to go to kill time within walking distance. But, I had no issues just hanging out waiting out the hour or so that it took. read more

First and foremost, thank you yelp for the assist!! I needed to get the tint removed from my back window and replaced due to the playing field of bubbles that popped up. I reached out via yelp to get some quotes and Cutting Edge Tint was one of the shops to respond. After messaging back and forth with Terrance (TJ). I made an appointment to get the work done. FYI, You can only make appointments during the week as Saturdays are first come first serve. After checking in, I was walked through the different options of film and the associated benefits of each Unsure of what I wanted, TJ was kind enough to take the existing tint off, measure it and let me know what it was so I could make an informed decision on how to proceed. I appreciated that because he did not have to offer to do such in the first place. Plus, knowing I wanted it darker than what was already on there, it gave me the perfect starting point. Needless to say I was in and out in about an hour. Talk about efficient service, I think this is the shortest tint appointment I've had. like ever! The customer service was impeccable, the waiting room is spacious and clean so you are not sitting on top of each other while you wait. I also liked that you can literally watch them work while you wait from the waiting area. If you are looking for a fully informative, pressure free experience, Cutting Edge Tint is just the place for you and your vehicle too! read more

Communication was very smooth and fast. I could make an appointment for window tint right away. The staff here were all friendly, responsible and helpful. The person at the front explained me variations of films and put samples on my car before finalizing it to make sure this is what I want. I waited less than an hour at the store with wifi. I drove up like 30 min but it's definitely worth it. The price is reasonable as I paid less than half of the dealer's quote. read more

Definitely 5 stars. I wasn't really sure how to go about getting my new cars windows tinted but did a quick Yelp search and found this place. The girl who helped me was super sweet and explained all of the options really well. My car was in and out very quickly. This was pre-covid so I'm not really sure of their current protocol. I do wish I got my windows a little darker so I am going to go back eventually! Definitely recommend as they did a great job. read more

First time getting tints on my car. I would highly recommend this place! Friendly and welcoming staff, extremely efficient service. I know nothing about getting tints, so I greatly appreciate their customer service and willingness to answer all my questions. She went through all the pricing, and pros and cons of each tint option. She also provided me with a heads up of all the factors taken into consideration based on what car you have and what the final price would look like. Overall, the experience was great. It took them 30-45 mins to complete my car. They have a couch area where you can sit and wait and also watch your car getting done, but instead I decided to leave the shop to kill time and they called me as soon as my car was complete. It took no time at all. Once I arrived back to see my car, that's when I paid and then my car was all set. The tint option I got has a lifetime warranty which allows me to go back any time to get my tints redone. 100% worth the trip. I am very satisfied with their work! read more

Flawless tint, the first time! Wow, my last tint experience was so bad (at another shop) that I was afraid they were all like that. Cutting Edge returned calls promptly and were friendly and courteous on the phone and in person. I made an appointment and the tint was done quickly. You are able to sit in a comfortable waiting room with a big couch, laz-z-boy, wifi, and TV while you wait. There is a huge window so you can watch your car being worked on. That is so much nicer than places that take your car in the back for hours and you have no idea what is going on. The girl at the front desk clearly explains all of the options to you, gives you the quote and they begin work on schedule. It was a really nice experience and I will definitely go back for future tint or paint protection. read more

Cutting Edge Tint went above and beyond in customer service! I had a complicated tinting removal+application situation for my car windows due to a protective coating. The team was very thorough in educating me about the process. Additionally they took it upon themselves to gain more information from the dealership itself for more information on my specific car windows. The quality of work and service was top notch. I came in at noon and was done within the hour. Highly recommended!

I had paint protection film installed at Cutting Edge. When I went to pick up my car, TJ who did the work said there was a flaw in the work and he would order a replacement and install it for me. Honestly, I didn't see any problem but they weren't satisfied until it was completely perfect. Amazing customer service, conscientious and serious attention to detail. Highly recommended. read more

Came to Cutting Edge Tint because of extreme photosensitivity and chronic migraines. Customer service at this place is dreamworthy, for example they placed swatches of a few different %tints on the windshield and side doors so that I could do plenty of day- and nighttime driving BEFORE making my decision. They also accurately told me when my car would be ready. They gave me a ton of options and importantly did NOT pressure me in any way. Customer service, unbothered by my questions, educated me on how the different tint types are used to reduce heat as well as light. And no surprises on the final cost either. It's been over a month and the window tint quality/application is still the same. Best decision I have made for my car in an effort to take back driving. I would get my windows (for any car) tinted again at Cutting Edge Tint. PLEASE NOTE-- Search for "Maryland Window Tint Laws" to know the "legal" limit for tinting of windshield vs all other doors, as well as sedan vs SUV. If you require tint beyond the "legal" limit, go and get a doctor's certification to keep in your glove in case you are stopped and asked for justification for that much window tint. Naturally occurring bright lights and glare are unavoidable, but please turn off your high beams (while leaving regular beams on) when unneeded. Repeated exposure to bright light can lead to a full migraine - on the road. Even if you don't have a medical condition like me, high beams on the road reduce visual contrast, making it difficult to see pedestrians and signs. read more

I have to say, I was very impressed, it all started by reaching out for a quote, the price was totally on point, which is what brought me in, and also the fact that they were true to their word in regards to response time. So I show up, and hands down the professionalism and absolute friendliness was outstanding. The knowledge on cars and the way they explained their products was great, but what was also very impressive was the teamwork, watching them all work was dope, true teamwork. So I've owned several cars over the years, and they've all been tinted by a shop, and everytime It's done I've had to lock my windows and remind myself not to open them. These guys make it to easy for you not to mess up, they lock your windows and put a sign over the window controls reminding you not to roll your windows, whaaaa... I definitely recommend this place, chances are I'll be bringing my wife's car soon! read more

Was recommended this place by a guy who sells nice cars, so I called them for info/price quote and to make an appointment. Guy on the phone was very polite and patient. I called twice and probably asked silly questions and he didn't get annoyed. (Sometimes this happens with car shops). The woman helping me was the best. She was very informative and very good at reading client cues at what I was likely interested in getting. She was just all around so pleasant to work with that I'd get tinting even if I didn't need it! She was also very patient with explaining the types of tinting, legal vs not legal etc. I'll wait a bit to comment on the tint itself since I just got it done but so far so good. I got the Oberian (2nd tire style). There's a lifetime warranty on certain factors. The guys doing the tint were fast too. I have a 4 door sedan. They got it done under an hour. Don't have time to tint on the weekends? Do it during your lunch hour! I don't know if it's par for the course but I really appreciate having those stickers on the window controls to remind me not to roll down my windows. I could never remember otherwise. read more

*bows down* Love love loveeeee TJ and Franklin. They are the best. They always know how to take care of their customers (and ours.) Customers often ask who we recommend for window tint... We immediately send them to cutting edge. I've had horrible experiences with other local tint shops and Cutting Edge won me over after years of excellent service. They have never disappointed me in all the vehicles we send their way (personal and referred customers.) The first time I walked in I knew exactly what I wanted. They tinted a couple of our personal cars. I wanted them to match the factory tint on the back doors and trunk of my xterra and they did a extraordinary job. You can't even tell the front windows didn't come tinted because they matched perfectly. I also wanted a sun strip and my tail lights smoked out. On the C300 they tinted the whole vehicle with a sun strip. Their prices are more the n fair for the quality of work and lifetime warranty. The second I walked in for the first time I knew by their reputation and friendliness that their shop would be my go to place. read more

First car on which I had the windows tinted. 99% UV rejection 3M nano carbon. 50% on the windows and 35% on the moonroof, so on top of the 85% from the factory it should be a legal 35% in Maryland for the windows. The moonroof is not governed by the state law. I should mention the professional job that Cutting Edge Tint in the Montgomery County Airpark provided.
