They are a great bunch of guys. Customer service is top tier. That's what I like most and they're very honest.

Fast service at a good price. Got me back on the road for trip. Good communication and good work.

Good quality automotive repair at a fair price. I would recommend any to go there for automotive needs. read more

I went here for a state inspection which was $80. They're friendly and very fast, they took me without an appointment which was awesome since I didn't plan ahead and i needed it that day. They found an exhaust leak at the flex and told me they would fix it for $700 since it needed a whole new part and everything. I was ready to pay this guy a weeks worth of pay. A friend of mine happened to overhear me talking about it later and when I asked him what he was laughing about he said don't go back to that shop. My friend fixed my car for $100. The part cost $75 and it took him an hour. The car passed a MD state inspection afterwards. How can you sleep at night while robbing people all day, every day? This review is for Dave's Corner Auto Care on Virginia Avenue in Hagerstown, MD. read more

Very attentive, informative, and budget friendly. Didn't have an appointment yet got the repair done same day. Highly recommend.

The customer service is so good. They make you feel welcome and they sit down and talk to you eye to eye. Greet you with a smile as soon as you walk in and see you off with a wave. Great people! read more

This is a response to my son's truck. He was having exhaust issues and needed to get fixed. They looked it over and called him with diagnosis and estimate. Was finished sooner than expected. Work appears to be solid. I'm sure my son would go back for any repairs he would need. read more

Truly good, professional and have good communication. No nonsense. Good work. Good people. This is now my go to shop.

Blew a belt on 81 and they worked me in with zero notice or appointment. Devins smiling face let me know immediately that I was in the right place. Great conversation while we waited and all were incredibly nice and welcoming to my 10 year old daughter. Fixed us right up. I can't say enough nice things about these people. Thinking about making the 6 hour drive from my house for future work needed. read more

Something was seriously wrong with our car 2 hours into a road trip and pulled into Dave's at 4:30pm. Dave was so kind and agreed to look at our car. He found the problem and stayed an hour after he closed to get us back on the road. We are so grateful! read more

Excellent customer service! Came in with a leak in a tire 30 mins before closing and patched it up quickly.

Been going here since they opened. They will do anything that needs to be done on your ride. Dave has helped me out too any times to count. Extremely honest and fast. read more

Dave's Corner Auto Care - Auto Repair Near Me - Hagerstown, Maryland

My air conditioning died on my way to Florida. Spoke to Dave near the close of business and he fit me in the following morning. Back on the road by 11:00. Dave explained everything to me and quoted a fair price. Feeling very cool even though it's humid mid-90s. read more

If my brother-in-law had an auto mechanic shop, it would be like this. Honest, straight-to-the-point and they put in more work than they charged me for. My son's car broke down on I-70 between Baltimore and Cumberland near Hagerstown. It was already at 200,000 miles plus and the diagnosis was terminal. They sympathized with him needing to show up to work on time and gave us time to regroup and decide what to do. We found their shop based on reviews on the Internet. I wished we lived closer to use their shop on a regular basis. read more

Dave's Corner Auto Care - Auto Repair Near Me - Hagerstown, Maryland

These guys are very reasonable & did not try to get anything over on me. Were up front about the exact issues!! Great place to go! I will now be going here for any car issues I have. read more

Dave's Corner Auto Care is a great service center all around! The business is owned by Dave Ahluwalia, he is a wonderful mechanic and very trustworthy. He has been my mechanic for the past three years and I have been extremely happy with his work. I can take my car to him without having to worry about inflated prices - his prices are GREAT, to put it lightly! I am so happy with the quality of the work that I drive my car up to Hagerstown anytime I need any work done, and I live in Frederick - so that is a bit of a drive, but it is worth it. If you are looking for a great mechanic, who you can trust AND has great prices, look no further. Check this place out! read more

I called Dave because I was in a jam with an overheating truck on a trip north to Ohio. The nearby Ford dealer gave me a quote that was unreasonably high, so I bought the part myself and Dave was able to install it for me. He stuck to his quoted price and was good about predicting when the repair would be finished. I hope not to be broken down again in Hagerstown, but would certainly return to here if I needed service. read more

Great mechanic who did work on my Acura for a very reasonable price. He was 100% up front about everything. I think it's sad when a single reviewer can bring down what would be a 5-star average review for this business establishment. read more

Me and my poor 2001 Subaru Outback limped into Dave's on a Saturday at 1:45, right before closing. I was driving from Pittsburgh to DC and after getting gas, the car refused to start. The mechanic sorted out my problem quickly and took the time to educate me on what happened, then checked with me on what he wanted to do and what it would cost. At that point I would have paid $$$ to not be stuck in Hagerstown for the weekend (sorry Hagerstown), but he in no way took advantage of my stuck situation. He got the orders in for all the parts right before the shops closed and the receptionist even went out and picked up the parts from the stores where the delivery people had already left for the day. I was back on the road in under and hour and my car is running great. This business is family owned and they really do treat you like family. I highly recommend Dave's to anyone, especially people stuck with car trouble on 70! read more

Firstly, I like these guys. I do not think they were trying to swindle me. I took my car in for power issues. They tested it and said it was the alternator and I needed a new one. I knew for a fact that it was not the alternator because I was charging the battery with it. I wasted 50$ on this test. I changed the battery myself and everything is fine months later. I have been told three times, for all of my past three cars, that a new alternator was needed. Twice, including this time, I needed a new battery, once I needed new spark plugs. Not once did I ever need an expensive new alternator. The point- never ever trust a shop, even a trustworthy shop like Dave's, when they say you need a new alternator. read more

Been going here since 2013 for work on my Jeep with high milage. They always explain issues and options. Very friendly.

Definitely 5 stars! We were moving an oversize load down 81 when our pilot car had a breakdown. This means that our business stops. We contacted Dave who got right on top of things -- diagnosing the problem, locating parts, and continuously consulting with us about availability and prices. He got us moving again and at very reasonable rates. Very trustworthy and honest - hard to find these days! We pass through this area several times a year and will always use Dave to service our vehicles. Thanks!!! read more

Needed to get my car inspected for sale and went to Dave based on previous YELP reviews. Was not disappointed. Scheduled appt and was in and out as promised. Would definitely recommend. read more

I had to get my daughter from Pittsburgh because she had to be out of her room on that Wednesday. Around Annapolis, my brakes went out but I drove a 5 speed manual so I could gear down to slow down. A brake line had a hole in it. I was able to use the other brake reservoir to help in braking but I knew the city of Pittsburgh was going to be a problem. I was given directions in Hagerstown to Dave's. I had to get my daughter off campus by the end of the day and her room cleared out. I told Dave of my problem. One other shop had told me they couldn't do the job today. Dave put my truck on the lift and in less than 2 hours the problem was fixed. He charged a reasonable fee. Dave's Corner Auto Care was fantastic and a life saver. The workers there were friendly as well. Dave could have easily said they couldn't get to it but they took the job on. They truly follow their slogan, "AUTO REPAIR BY THE PEOPLE THAT CARE". If I lived in Hagerstown or near Hagerstown, Dave's Corner Auto Care would be my service station for all truck and care work. read more

I had an auto emergency while I happened to be in the area for a backpacking trip. We were tired, wet, dirty, and needed our car to get back home to D.C.! We dropped into Dave's and Dave's delightful son Devin assessed my car, ordered parts, and fixed my brakes within an hour and a half of our arrival, despite an obvious glut of vehicles waiting to be repaired in their lot. Dave said he "had a soft spot for travelers." Good work, fair price, and most of all fantastic service and nice people. If I lived in Hagerstown, I would go here every time. read more

I was on a roadtrip a few months back and my caliper bolts somehow came out. The local auto store suggested I see Dave. I tell you what they ordered my bolts, had them rushed there in a matter of hours and got me back on the road. A+ service If I ever break down in that area again I will definitely go back here. read more

I hadn't been here for service before, but called out of the blue when my car started making a horrible sound, I was able to drop it off the next day, have it assessed and fixed before I got off work. The owner Dave was very personable and friendly and most importantly reassuring. This will be my regular mechanic from the time on. read more

Honest people, great service. Driving alone with 3 kids, car started making a thumping noise -- 4+ hours from home, 8+ hours from our destination. They took care of the problem -- turned out to be just a hunk of road tar stuck to the tire -- with no charge. They saw us immediately too. Highly recommend them. read more

If you are thinking of spending one dollar here, please read this first. I've went here a few times in the past for oil changes because it was so close to home. After the second time I found an oily finger print in the ceiling of my vehicle I decided to go elsewhere.(I wrote the first one off as an accident of someone who just changed oil and jumped up into the big vehicle that I own.) Several months later I had an issue with my vehicle and upon deciding that the dealership would cost and arm and a leg I went to Dave's Corner Auto Care thinking it would be cheaper and that I could drop off my vehicle and walk home. The first call I received from Dave, the owner, I was told the job would cost "around $400-$500 dollars including the diagnosis already done." I asked if my issue might be under warranty because of some vehicle forums I read on-line with similar symptoms to what I was experiencing. Dave told me he would check with the manufacturer and let me know if it was under warranty. Two days later I received another call and was told it was out of warranty, and I am using exact quotes, "You are looking at $700 to $800 AND YOU WILL STILL PROBABLY HAVE ISSUES." So in my head I was thinking, almost $1000 and the mechanic is telling me it won't fix my problems- a $1000 band-aid? What business says that to a customer? I paid the $130 for the diagnosis and took my vehicle to the dealership that called me two hours later and said it wouldn't cost me a cent, because it was under warranty. I was shocked, and of course quite happy. Again, it cost me ZERO dollars, except for the money I wasted to take my vehicle to Dave's Corner Auto Care which was going to charge me almost a grand and still not fix the issue. I can't speak for everyone, but this is the experience that I have had. I guarantee anyone who goes in to get a simple oil change will have a paper printed out each time and they will try to add on all these odds and ends to bump the price up. I always overlooked that part in the past because they were so close and just said no thanks. I waited a few days after my experience to write the review in order to provide only facts and keep emotions out of it. Choose wisely on where you decide to spend your hard earned money. read more

We took our van to Dave's in April. The part that was needed was replaced for another one costing $186.70 (part only). The van did not run any better. The gas leak was fixed. Both repairs brought the total bill to $702.12 which is mighty salty since the replacement did not make any difference. After putting out so much money we had to wait until recently to do something about the constant stalling. For $2 hundred and some odd dollars another mechanic fixed our problem. It appears that the part Dave's replaced was not new but possibly the one that was already on the van. No proof but it is suspicious that our van ran horribly when we left Dave's lot and ran well when we left the other mechanic's shop. I do believe we were cheated but there is no way to prove what took place. We can not recommend nor will we use Dave's corner again! read more

My husband and I were driving home from a wedding in WV when I suddenly lost power steering, battery light came on and started hearing rattling noises. We stopped at Dave's Corner Auto Care and they immediately took a look at my car. Turns out I had two busted fan belts which were causing all the other problems. They had them replaced in no time, and we were on our way. Great place and very good service! read more
