If you need a fabulous mechanic, definitely go to Zach's! They are very efficient and very kind.

I was hesitant about finding a mechanic who was honest and efficient. Zach's seems to be both. So far so good.

Very professional service. Good communication and pricing. Definitely my go-to mechanic in Frederick.

I have been a certified auto mechanic. But there are always things which I choose not to do on my own vehicles. I needed to get a rear main seal done on a Chevy Silverado truck. Additionally it had other gaskets and lines that needed replacement that I had no interest in doing personally. After a deep dive into reviews The only One that showed extreme positive reactions was Zach's. After having the work done I can honestly say without hesitation that I have never been to a better shop, been treated respectfully, fair pricing, honesty, communication, knowledge and skill, and fully standing by their work Zach's is the best period. read more

I brought in my old 2003 Element for what I thought was an axle problem. I usually wrench this car myself but I didn't have the tools to replace a bad axle. I also needed rear brakes, and a complete fluid change. I figured since the car was already in the shop and the weather in Frederick was atrocious, why not. They gave me an estimate of close to $1500 dollars (ouch). The value of the car was around $2000 which gave me pause but I thought if this would get me another few years out of the vehicle, it may be worth it. I approve the repairs. A couple of days later they informed me that the break parts I purchased were for the front brakes and not the rear. I purchased the rotors about five years ago when Pep Boys informed me that the vehicle would not pass state inspection. Pep Boys told me that they couldn't use the parts because the rotors were for the rear brakes not the front as they had flagged. This didn't make sense to me because Rock Auto clearly identified them as front brake rotors. Rather than argue, I agreed to let "the Boys" replace the front brakes with their parts. I hung onto the rear brakes figuring I could always use them in the future. When Zach's informed me that they were indeed front rotors, I nixed the brake job and instead ordered new rear brakes and pads online. They also informed me that the smell of axle grease that prompted me to drop it off in the first place was not axle grease but power steering fluid from a leaky hose and pipe. They also noted that the ball joint needed to be replaced. The total damage came to just over $1300 dollars. My only complaints about the service was that they did not do the transmission and differential fluid replacements as I requested (not sure why) and the price. This is a very old vehicle. Bluebook value in optimal condition is about $3000. Repair shops tend to disregard this when recommending repairs. I've had estimates of $5000 dollars from other shops for various services. Technically they're not be gouging customers, but it is a bit irresponsible. Leveling with customers honestly, creates an atmosphere of trust and makes it more likely that they'll return for future services. read more

The ease of setting an appointment was great, just used the online booking system! The staff is super friendly and helpful. I got an oil change and was in and out promptly and the price was a great value. I will return for future auto care for my cars. read more

Nice clean shop with great service and fair pricing! Needed a Maryland vehicle inspection, was able to quickly get an appointment and once there they took my vehicle back instantly keeping my wait time to absolute minimum. I sincerely appreciate. Thank you!! read more

I had talked to Zach the other day, inquiring about bringing in my vehicle for service. And he told me he was so busy and that I had to wait two weeks. So that's the only thing I see as a downfall and I think his prices are a little bit higher than my normal mechanic. read more

Replaced both valve cover gaskets and oil gasket (~$800) on a 2004 Acura MDX and 2 yrs. and 3 months (11k miles) later the left bank cover leaked and destroyed the alternator ($1600 to replace both) . Out of Zach's 2yr parts and labor warranty, out of luck. Dynamic Automotive's warranty is 3 year. read more

Zach and Adam are very professional as well as understanding to the importance of maintaining one's vehicle. I refer my family to them because their work is exceptional and they did a fantastic job bringing the life back into my husband's vehicle. read more

Zach Auto Clinic is fair-priced, reliable, supportive, and timely response time. I found them on Yelp and took the word of other people's reviews. Then, I called Zach Auto Clinic and told him about my car (2006 Elantra) was having trouble getting through the Maryland Safety Inspection process. I sent him a laundry list of repairs that needed to be done to pass inspection. Sight unseen, he gave me an estimate less than the inspection place. He did the work quickly and on time. The best part was when I had a few additional hiccups Zach Automotive was there to help. I'm new to the area but a least I have a mechanic. Thanks, Zach for your support. My car passed !! Cheers!! read more

Zach's Auto Clinic - New Maryland Registered Car!! Thanks Zach Clinic Auto!!! - Auto Repair Near Me - Frederick, Maryland

I've been going to Zach's for a few years now and they always come through. They've done work on my Nissan and BMW at a fair price and have let me know if I will need future maintenance on my vehicles. They do get busy, but when you get your vehicle in Zach does a great job of communicating with you to let you know of any issues and works to resolve them. Nothing but good things here! read more

Zach is the kind of mechanic you spend far too much time looking for and then never have to search for a general mechanic ever again. He and his team do great work, they work quickly, are very flexible and easy to schedule with. He also also gives great advice and helps you take better care of your vehicle between visits, he seems to care about his customers however odd the problem (and one of mine got very odd...). I did have one electrical problem on my Prius he couldn't fix completely without tearing the carpet out and wouldn't let me pay him for the labor beyond that which he was able to resolve despite the work he put into it. What's more, he provided me details I could bring to a Toyota dealership to help them troubleshoot more quickly and hopefully cut down the cost when I take it in. I have no hesitation recommending Zach's service and if I wasn't moving across the country I know I'd be going back to him time-and-time again. My only complaint is that he doesn't charge enough for the level of care he provides. read more

I have been wanting to leave a review for this place. Since recently moving to Frederick I finally found a new mechanic. Previous mechanic did some repairs on my 2012 Toyota Camry; however, both my check engine light and traction light came back on. Took it to Zach's and less than an hour they were able to figure it out. The codes had to be reset on my vehicle. They said they wouldn't charge me for it, since the only thing that needed to be done was resetting the codes. Definitely 5 stars mechanics. read more

I had been going to a shop close to my house for a few years and was frustrated with how poorly they communicated. Called Zach who was really friendly and understanding. Brought my car in was given a fair quote and the car was returned when he said it would be and they even washed it for me! Thanks! Will definitely be returning! read more

Best customer service and they do an outstanding job. I will always recommend. I unfortunately had to use them a few times and they make the process easy. read more

Did good work for several hundred dollars less than what my dealer estimated. Efficient, friendly service. Not a lot of bells and whistles but you can tell they want you business and are willing to work for it. They've certainly earned one new loyal customer! read more

Very friendly and honest. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for any maintenance or repairs.

Nice service and responded quickly to my messages. Oil change was fast and easy! Definitely satisfied with their service and will be using them routinely!! read more

Took my car to Zach's for new tires, oil change and brakes. Was given an estimate and repairs were completed early and in the estimate quoted. When I picked up the car the tech reviewed what was done with me and really cared about my satisfaction. I appreciated that. Will be going back again when I need car help again. Thank you Zach's Auto. And I also received an air freshener that smelled good. Not like some old lady's Estée Lauder nasty perfume. read more

Great service, fair price, nice folks - I will be using these folks for any future needs for sure.

I have to agree the other reviews. I have a Lexus ES300 hybrid which needed new struts and shocks. AAA Autocare was willing to do it for $500 more than Zachs. Yea, nope.. It turns out that AAA did not know that there would be a difference in parts from the regular version and hybrid. It would have not worked ( holes would have been in the incorrect place for attachment) and there is a small premium on the hybrid version. Zacks caught it before they even ordered the parts and then when the dealer sold them higher brand shocks, He made the dealer eat the extra instead of charging me more. Service at its best. Highly recommend. read more

Honest, Trustworthy, dependable and did I mention honest? Zach and his team have helped me multiple times and Zach even drove out to me when my truck broke down on his way home for the night just to look at it before i had it towed to his garage. He has always offered me the lowest prices of all the other garages I reached out to as well. They always communicate everything clearly and are very transparent about their work and prices. A really good local small business owner with a garage located right in the middle of town, how can you go wrong? That's right...you can't! read more

Zach took great care of my Ford Raptor. I blew the transmission in it and no dealership could even see me in less than 3 weeks but not only did Zach take care of it in 3 weeks but he worked very hard dealing with my after market warranty company and they were not easy to deal with. Zach kept me updated through the entire process and did a incredible job replacing the transmission. Having a Ford Raptor I would normally only go through a dealership but after Zachs great customer service I will only go to him for all my future repairs. Highly recommend using Zachs Auto Clinic read more

Came in with transmission issues and he checked codes on car right away. When nothing came back after he cleared it and drove it around for a little, he told us that we wouldn't really need any work done on it. He could have 100% up-sold a transmission fluid change but told us that changing it wouldn't do anything and let us go without charging us. Definitely recommend this place! read more

New to the area and had my car taken care of here. Service was great fairly quick and had a warranty. Will come back for my auto needs.

We've taken our family cars here multiple times and have always had speedy service and great communication.

Been jumping around Frederick to different auto repair shops and simply have not been satisfied. Zach's was recommended to me from a friend. Problem was quickly identified, communication was quick and friendly and issue was repaired in a timely manner at a fair price. Issue turned out to be minor and it was great to not be taken advantage of. Will certainly return for any future auto service needed. Thanks Zach! read more

My first time bringing Zach my car to repair. Not only was he right on the money when it came to his repair estimate, but his customer service was outstanding. He picked me up at my work and was able to get the care serviced without having much trouble with getting there back and forth. Highly recommended place to take your car to, they were very skilled and honest in all aspects of the repair process. Not going anywhere else! Neither should you. read more

Needed to get a transmission relearn done to my 2011 Dodge Caravan. Dealerships want 8x the amount Zach was going to charge me. He came right out when I arrived. Friendly, professional, and honest. Would definitely recommend to others and will do business with again myself. read more

The guys at Zach's Auto Clinic are great. I had a clutch replaced, flywheel resurfaced, and passenger side motor mount bracket replaced. My car drives like its brand new. They do quality work, work quickly, and are competitively priced. I'll definitely be going back to them for future repairs. read more

I needed a mechanic to evaluate a potential used car purchase, and a friend recommend Zach's. I called him the morning of the test drive and he was able to schedule a look at the car that day. He pointed out a couple of minor issues and otherwise blessed the car. I've heard great things about Zach from my friend and and I appreciate his flexibility in making time to look at the car on short notice. read more

I have known Zach since his days working at Churchill Auto Care. I was so pleased and happy when I learned that Zach had opened his own shop. I have always received excellent service and work of the highest caliber at Zach's at a very fair price. Zach and his lead mechanic-Adam are always upfront and honest about what you need and they never try to up sale or recommend unnecessary services. It is so refreshing to go to a shop where you can trust what you are being told when it comes to what is wrong with your vehicle. So many shops are more interested in making a big pot of money than being honest and keeping you as a customer. I would highly recommend this shop if you want high quality honest service at a fair price. read more
