I took my car to Clearview about 6 years ago and completely forgot about them until this past week and I'm happy I took my car back. One repair shop told me I needed an exhaust manifold and it would cost me about $1400 bucks! I ended up getting a 2nd opinion and Clearview determined it was only a missing hose all together they charged me $86 dollars. Do not take your car there. I had a dead battery so a tow truck towed my van there. I thought I would trust Clearview Car Care North to be fair. So the final bill for just replacing the battery with a new one which takes 10 minutes is $280. I told them that I will not consider them for future repairs. It's too bad I had to cross that name off my list of go to repairs for honest and fair pricing. $280 for a simple battery replacement. I should have gone to Battery One on Patrick St when they did my other car before for under $100. Oh well. read more

Where do I even begin?! My experience at Clearview was a 10/10. As all car repair stories begin my car was making funny noises. I went to Clearview and after just a quick drive around the block the owner immediately knew what was wrong. The repair was a pretty extensive and address a dangerous issue with the front left wheel. They got the repair done quickly for me and now I'm back on the road safely. Everyone there is super nice and professional. They did a great job. It is a little pricier than other shops perhaps but worth every cent for quick service from experienced mechanics. I got a drain and fill for transmission and coolant for my Mazda along with replacing the spark plugs. Spoke to Bryan and he accommodated my schedule. I asked them to save the old fluid so i could see how it looked. They only saved me the old transmission fluid but not the coolant, which was very disappointing. The only thing reliable about my car is where I take it for the 748293 things constantly wrong with it. I bought a crap car and didn't realize how many problems it would come with- Clearview always takes care of everything for me. They ALWAYS get me in fast (day of, or next day usually), they call me the minute they find the problem and propose a solution, and they're extremely trustworthy. I'm a college student- I don't have a ton of extra money to throw at my car- and they understand that. They always give me their honest opinions and guidance when it comes to what I need to fix and when I truly need to fix it. They're never just in it for the money, they genuinely care about their customers and their needs. Got rotors and pads replaced at 85000 mi. $500. Did a crappy job. Brakes vibrated a lot after that. I was promised original hyundai brakes, BUT....at 105000 (20000 miles later) the pads measured at only 2/32. It turns out they used not original but cheap aftermarket parts and I had to spend another 650 to redo everything at a reputable dealership. Clearview should give me back my money. I would not even get an oil change there! read more

The service is top notch, they fit me in the same day for an oil change and tail light that was out, and they don't try to up-sell you on stuff you don't really need done (like pretty much every other garage I have been to does). Honest, timely, and expert work is why they have so many loyal customers. Yelp did not steer me wrong here! I've been to the South location too, and it has been the same excellent experience. They have done some estimates for us and even when we decided to forgo the work, not only did they not charge for the estimate, they also helped us find a reputable place for us to donate our car. Since I was told today that they don't usually check emails and their phone message states that they don't check voice mail ... maybe this will get to someone. I had been a satisfied customer. I brought my car in today. For an oil change and to replace a part that broke off because they didn't do what they should've during the last repair (I was going to let that go...). He asked when I needed my car done, I said tomorrow is fine. I was then told, "oh no, we'll get it back to you today". So when I received the call at 4:56 letting me know my car was ready for pick up, I said "I'm on my way". When I arrived, I found no one there. I called the number to find that they close at 5 now. I drove away, left a voice mail (although the recording says don't bother) and then thought - "what if they left my car unlocked?". Well, I assumed I was being ridiculous but to sooth my worry I went back to check. And ... my car was completely unlocked!! So ... no more Clearview for me. And I apologize for all of the time I've referred people there. I will never trust them again. read more

I came here about a week ago to get my oil changed and have them run diagnostics because my check engine light was on. I called ahead to make sure they weren't slammed and they were able to see me right away. I was very pleased with the place from the start. Everyone was so professional and nice. They have a nice waiting room with wi-fi and a TV for those who need to wait. They were quick and honest. I had a part that needed to be replaced and they went ahead and called the dealer to get it. I went back the next day and was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Prices aren't bad - I ended up paying about $75 for the oil change (synthetic oil). Highly recommend! read more

Best kept secret! This is an excellent small shop within walking distance of downtown Frederick and Frederick Memorial Hospital. I have taken many of my vehicles (VW, Audi, Ford) there since discovering them. Super friendly and COMPETENT, I have no reservations about bringing my cars there for any type of service. They are honest and forthright and will gladly work with you to get the best deal. My only fear is that if everyone discovers them, I'll never be able to get an appointment! This place was highly recommended by a few of my neighbors. Husband's car's check engine light came on in the evening. Dropped his car off after hours and I got a phone call in the morning. The mechanic told me what the issue was and broke down everything they would have to do to get it back on the road. This was a 3rd vehicle for me, a fun 4WD. They cautioned me buying it because of all the repairs it needed! Can you believe it? Talked themselves out of a job. Just picked up a car that needed a rotor put on since I couldn't get the old one off myself. They did it within an hour after dropping it off. I also brought them a different car with wobbly brakes and asked them to diagnose the problem, which they did, for free. Just needed new rotors, which I ended up doing myself.
