This is a scam company. Went to the Rt 40 frederick location b/c the oil light and tire lights were on. After "changing the oil" and "checking the tires" they sent me on my way but both lights are still on. For more than a week I tried to contact their customer service team but they won't reply. If you like paying for fake service this is the place to go. If you want to actually get an oil change I suggest anywhere else. read more

I continued to give them the benefit of the doubt even after experiencing some horrible incidents since it was a convenient location. First and the biggest mistake was the skid plate that they failed to secure back on after the oil change. It completely fell off on the highway requiring me to repair the damage out of my own pocket even after having talked to the manager who did not care to even say that he'll communicate this issue to his employees to avoid future incidents. Then the 2 recent times was when they didn't "secure" the tire caps back on after checking the pressure. These were the high end metal caps (that are often stolen), not the cheap plastic ones. Careless mistakes were made every time I have taken my car to this location. If you're looking for quality work done on your car, DO NOT take your car to this location. read more

Referred me to a local shop because the issue was unrelated and beyond the purpose of shop. They also gave me a coupon for repairs if I ended up needing. They were professional and very helpful. First time customer here! This place is awesome! I generally go to Valvoline in VA but due to a recent move I was looking for a closer location in MD. Extremely quick service and super friendly people! Pulled up and was pointed to wait at a bay. Since it was my first time the tech went over the "menu" of oil services for my vehicle and explained thoroughly. Checked my lights, high beams, brake lights, hazards. Received a CatFax report to make sure there were no recalls on my car?!! What?!! Never have received this and truly appreciated it. Received another notification of what the manufactures recommended. Filled up my tires and cleaned my windshield! They have monitors next to the bay where you can watch the tech below changing the oil. Big kudos to Jordan/John for his upbeat attitude despite the heat and the face masks in the heat! I'm SO happy I found this place and will bring my family vehicles here in the future. I ended up getting a transmission service I was due for as well because I didn't feel pressured and enjoyed the service and good music they had playing. read more

I chose the synthetic oil change option for $58. Total cost ended up being $76... they charged me extra for random stuff and said my car needed this extra oil or whatever. I was in a rush so i just said whatever and let, but I wont be going back. Don't say its going to be $58 and then charge $20 extra. read more

I was a loyal customer and I always trusted the advice of the mechanics. Came in today for an oil change, and was told the belts were dry and cracked to the point of being dangerous, and could go on me at any point, "sometime today or maybe a month from now." I was told it would take 20 mins. Well over an hour later, they were finally finishing up. I asked to get the old belts back and took them for a second opinion. They did not look terribly cracked to me. Low and behold, the other mechanics who looked at them said they were NOT in desperate need by a stretch! I was taken completely advantage of and wasted $200+ and almost 2 hours of my day (I had made it clear that I was on my way to work but got permission from my boss to do 20 mins of work as they told me). Never again, took our F350 extended bed and cab and can only use center bay, when employee came running out yelling to not use that bay he wanted us to back up through several cars waiting in line and go through the bay that the truck cannot make a turn from as being told previously when visiting there. Employee was extremely rude and would not stop yelling so we left making sure never to visit here again. read more

The service here is phenomenal. I was up in the area to visit friends, but had arrived early to get an oil change. This chain was recommended to me by my friend. When you first arrive, the staff have you drive into the garage. You then have the option of getting out and sitting in the waiting room or you can actually stay in your car while they work on it. Even better, there is a video screen next to your car so you can watch them as they work underneath your car. Every single step of the way, the staff communicates what they are doing and what they find. I knew that I had to get my brakes changed soon, but wasn't sure how long until I actually needed them done. The staff member took off one of my brakes and showed me what my brakes look like versus what brand new brakes look like. He talked me through the process, my options and answered all of my questions so I understood. They also went above and beyond and checked everything. I was told about a couple of items that need to be replaced within the next 10,000 to 20,000 miles, as well as how much each cost, so that I can start saving for. The only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars is because they didn't have the prices visibly listed anywhere. The staff provided the prices when I asked for them, but I always like the transparency of being able to see the prices myself. I will definitely be back here in the future. read more

I have always trusted The Lube Center, but no more! Last oil change they did for me was in August. I was due for another and my mechanic friend offered to do it for me. When he went to unscrew the oil plug, he barely touched it and it spun in his hand and was never tightened! He said that he couldn't believe that it didn't fall off while I was driving down the road and ruin my engine! I reached out to the manager today. He told me that he would review the video and call me back. I missed his call unfortunately. When I called back, I was told that he was "in the bathroom" and told that he would call me back. Then the girl hung up without taking my number. Called back again and was told that he was gone for the day and someone else spoke with me who told me that they reviewed and the tech tightened it. I don't believe a word of what I'm being told! I truly believe they are covering their asses! No apology at all and the second guy was disinterested. NO ONE else has changed the oil except this Lube Center location for at least 2 years! When I asked how it could have just gotten loosened on it's own, they guy could only say that he didn't know. I have visited this location many times in the past. However my visit today 1/4/2019 will be my last. They lack customer service, poper management and service timelines. The staff lacks motivation from the manager down to the technicians. I directly observed one tech taking an air ratchet to the ribs of his Co worker. When I told the manager I was told not to tell him how to manage his team and he would ask if it happened. I strongly suggest staying away from this location until they get their act together. Today was literally the first time I've ever had good service at a garage like this. The people who work here are so nice and so accommodating. They closed at 7 (which I didn't realize, sorry guys) and serviced me even though they were about to close. They didn't have the oil filter they needed and drove to a parts store to get it for me after I insisted that it was fine and that I would come back. Super service and the employees I had contact with were great. I was greeted and made to feel welcome by the check in technician. She showed me a chart with the available packages/prices and explained them to me. No push to try to get me to purchase an expensive package. The technician, Dakota, introduced himself and offered to get me coffee or a bottle of water. I stayed in the car the entire time and when he needed to reach in he asked me if it was ok, before just reaching in. Wow! This is not something a lot of people would think to ask. Accidentally navigated to this one again, even though I had a very poor prior experience, and this time the service exceeded all of my expectations: quick, fair! Damien made recommendations on what kind of maintenance the car will need in the future without putting any pressure on me to perform any of it right now. I also brought some filters with me, which they replaced without any difficulties. This place has significantly improved since the last time I visited it. Here, I received possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I came for an oil change and everything was fine until I asked a simple question. The cashier, Shannon, told me that the coupon I had found on their website would only be valid if it was sent to me via text or email. I told her that I attempted to have the coupon sent via text, but the command did not function properly on their website. She repeated her initial statement, this time more agitatedly. I then began entering my email address as I said, "I understand what you are saying and I know that you didn't create the policy, but could you explain the rationale behind it?" My tone was deliberately calm because I could tell she was becoming upset and I did not want this minor issue to escalate. Immediately after I entered my email address, I received the coupon in a message. I showed Shannon the email and what was listed on the website. Both had the same code. To avoid any sort of negative interaction, I asked to see the manager in charge. When he came over, he treated me as though I were trying to argue with them. I felt as if I were in some kind of horror film set in a backwards town. Later that day, I contacted their customer service line. The person basically dismissed Shannon's behavior as, oh I know her she can be abrasive sometimes but she doesn't mean anything by it. This was abysmal. If I could leave zero stars I would! Don't ever come to this place they almost destroyed my brand new Grand Cherokee!!!! The guys who work there are all super nice, don't get me wrong! But I had the assistant manager doing all the stuff under the hood and I sat there and watched him fidget with the oil filter for a good five minutes like he couldn't figure out how it went back in.... shortly after leaving the check engine light came on, the low oil pressure light came on, a horrible knocking sound started, and the acceleration was very slow.... luckily I was meeting my dad for lunch anyways and he said it sounded like the engine was starved for oil... we checked the dipstick and there was oil on it so it wasn't leaking.... I took my other car back with my dad and they agreed to send a mechanic back to my house with us to look at it since I refused to drive my Jeep. Well low and behold the assistant manager didn't put the oil filter back in correctly so oil wasn't flowing through the engine.... if I had driven it any further than I did I would have completely fried the engine.... how incompetent are you that you're an assistant manager and can't figure out how to put an oil filter back in at a place that specializes in oil change?!?!?! NEVER coming back here!!!! read more

These guys have been treating me like royalty for years. After many years of being unsatisfied at so many other places, I finally found a home at the Live Center in Frederick. They are friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, helpful, and take great notes on all of the upgrades and services I need for my car. Marvin and the rest of the crew are really great. They might be one of the only mechanics I've ever come across who treat me like I know something about cars even though, frankly, i don't. I do the best I can, but I am far from a mechanic. They do a great job of making me feel respected despite my lack of knowledge. As long as they treat me this way, they will always have my business. It doesn't hurt that they always offer you a drink while you wait as the The wait time can be long depending on the amount of services you get. However, if all you need is an oil change and filter change, they get you out of there in no time. I can't recommend these guys enough! read more

They hook you up! So much stuff done that does not cost extra. They also teach you things about ur car you may not know. Super fast and amazing prices. This place is always fast! Prices are pretty fair, you may find a place that's cheaper but you will have to wait 6 hours while your car gets done. Here, you literally pull in and they start working right away. I have been in and out in 15-20 minutes every time. The team seems to know what they are doing. The manager is out there checking in the team and making sure everything is checked but the team does a good job even when the managers not out there. It's where I go to get my oil changed every time. Look for the coupon on their website before you go though. read more

I checked out this place because all other quick oil change places were booked and it is very close to home. Am I so happy that I did! The attitude of the service people is friendly and very helpful: they do not push for extra services but simply inform you of problems and leave it up to you. My 14 year old Ford F-250 standard transmission ( a fairly unusual vehicle ) was chugging and sluggish, much more so than needing an oil change, but I thought I would start there. Thier 15 point inspection came up with a very dirty air filter and a despicably dirty fuel filter ( that was rusted and full of dark grey gasoline and should have been changed with a recent fuel pump replacement - badly done and over-charged by a local Ford repair shop ) and they replaced my windshield wipers with a very high grade type. All told replacing the air, fuel filter, wiper blades, and oil change and inspection cost an incredibly reasonable 241.88, and my beloved truck is now purring and running like a cheetah. Oh, and they checked and filled the tires as well. Any oil or other fluid top offs until the next 5000 mile change are free. I am definitely becoming a member of the loyalty club. I highly recommend these guys!!! read more
