The staff at Driven was so helpful. I lost my brakes and was unable to move my vehicle. Driven has their own towing truck so they were able to come pick up my vehicle and take it to their shop. They were very responsive and I needed my car so they tried to repair it as fast as possible. The communicated the issues to me. The pricing was very reasonable in my opinion compared to other places I've seen. I'm glad they were there to help me in a time of need. read more

Just had an unfortunate experience with this business. After install of door window switch, my car battery was drained. I returned my car to them and they recharged my battery, but did not check their installation of the door switch or advise me to bring the car back in to check the fuse box. subsequently, I took my vehicle to the dealer and they were able to perform the drain test and install a new door window switch. The window switch purchased at Driven Autorepair was under warranty and the manager wouldn't give me a refund on the defective part. I was the part could only replaced. Advising potential customers of their policy and you have no choice other than to use their services when a part is under warranty. The manager would not take fiscal responsibility for the potential faulty part they purchased and/or the potential faulty installation they provided on my car. I lost over $800 dollars trusting the integrity of the services provided by this company. Buyer Beware! read more

This shop either don't know about Range Rovers or they're just a rip off. Brought my car for a simple coolant leak, they charged me $600 to replace a hose and flush the system which was WAY too expensive. I pick up my car and 5 miles later coolant light comes on and the problem is still the same and of course meanwhile they recommend I replace the heater pump that it could be causing the problem so I asked them to order it. Brought the car back to them and they call the second day telling me that this time they found the problem and it's $4k to fix. I asked them not to do the work and I'll pick up the car. Sure enough they charge me for two hours labor and the none refundable part they ordered another $600 wasted. I pick up the car and 200 feet later coolant light comes on, they didn't bother filling the car with coolant after $1200 of charges and they're trying to convince me that it leaked it all overnight but without a drop underneath the car. it's either they don't know what they're doing or they know how to make money in a dishonest way. They didn't strike me as dishonest but who knows. to be clear, nothing personal or disrespectful from any of them just not good business . read more

Terrible customer even though I work next door I came for a simple inspection 2 things failed and I did 95% of the work finding out it was easy stuff then came back to have them do the last of the work that would take 3-5 minutes max just replacing a simple gasket on my exhaust after I did the hard part for the leak and guy up front was extremely rude to me and didn't want to show me what type of part it was to anything like the other guy did the first day. He wanted to charge me $200+ even after I did all the work that was needed to be done. never coming back after that they lost about a 6-7k job off this I was going to take my car to get fully fixed soon but definitely not after being treated like that. read more

So after taking my car to three mechanics to get my air conditioner fixed, I ended up at Driven. Car shield would not pay for the repair even though it was covered under the policy. The cost for the ac was $4200. The cost to replace the dash board was another $2000. The ports were leaking as was the evaporator. After talking to them I asked them if they could seal the ports, which they did. I had planned on driving without ac since the car shield refused to cover the repairs. It's been 3 weeks since I picked up my car and it has ac. Driven told me it would cost $150 but then did not charge me. They were super thorough and explained everything. Don't buy car shield insurance, it's a waste of money. Go to Driven and they will do a superb job. read more

Meet the Manager: FRANZ R.

Driven Auto Repair was founded on technical skill, discipline, and strong family values. Our owner, Franz, originally from Bolivia, began his career studying Computer Science before moving to the U.S. and completing three years of certified automotive training in Maryland. He later became an ASE Certified Technician, Nissan/Infiniti Certified, a Toyota A-Level Technician, and a Subaru B-Level Technician, gaining extensive dealership experience. Driven Auto Repair is proudly family owned and operated. Franz works alongside his wife, who is from El Salvador, and their two children, who are growing up involved in the business. What started as a small shop has grown into a respected repair facility with a team of seven employees, serving the Chantilly and Fairfax communities with honesty, precision, and personal care.

There is a whole system set up to drop off the car, leave the key in an envelope, put a message on the envelope, and then drop the whole thing into the mail slot so it is locked in the office. I fully expected a multi hundred dollar estimate, with a new part and labor, but it wasn't that way at all. The estimate was $70 (including $20 for the state safety inspection). It was of course a simple fix, but kudos to this shop for being honest about it and not trying to upsell, up charge, or do anything other than what was needed. I wish more auto places would be like this, but until they are, Arlington Auto Repair on Four Mile Run is the place to go!

For the majority of its lifespan, from 2008 through 2025, I consistently took the car to Ourisman Fairfax for scheduled maintenance every 5,000 miles. After recently moving farther away from Fairfax, I took my car to a local mechanic for service. During this visit, I learned that the transmission fluid had never been changed. This realization was deeply disappointing, especially since I had trusted a reputable Toyota service center to perform all necessary fluid changes over the years. Despite being charged for fluid changes, the transmission fluid--an essential maintenance item--was overlooked. I also own a Toyota Sienna, which is due for maintenance soon. Given my recent experience, I am concerned that I may encounter the same issue with this vehicle. I plan to update or write another review regarding the outcome after its next service appointment.

Mistakes happen, so I came back and asked to redo the alignment, showed them their own sheet and said the wheel was crooked after the alignment. They said (1) they don't do rear alignments on Toyotas (???), (2) the car has unspecified issues that don't allow it to be aligned, (3) they would need additional payment to do the steering wheel correction. When I pressed them on what the issues were, they refused to commit to anything. Nothing was written down. Truly baffling that these people are running a real shop. I asked to talk to the alignment tech and they said he can't speak English. So how can he understand anything? Is he just guessing? I'm willing to bet they don't have anyone trained and that they're just winging it on each alignment. I talked to Rose and Arbor (blond ponytail man). They kept pushing for more money, and they said I already got an alignment so I shouldn't be greedy. Very rude while I spoke very politely. I went to Midas down the street and they fixed it. No issues with the car were identified, perfect alignment, 45 minutes. The before measurements (after Firestone's alignment) were way off. Extremely unprofessional. Go here if you want your car to go 4 different directions while driving straight!

Second, on a separate visit, they aggressively tried to convince me to replace two of my tires, claiming they had punctures and needed immediate replacement. I took the car elsewhere for a second opinion, and that mechanic confirmed the tires were perfectly fine--no punctures, just blatant upselling. The combination of faulty workmanship and an obvious attempt to scam a customer out of hundreds of dollars across multiple service visits is unacceptable. Avoid this location if you value quality work and honesty.

Meh, no skin off my back. I'll just get my $5 chicken and be on my way. I love any Costco food court. Staff here is also hit or miss- lately there's a moody teenager that just wants to leave.
