I was a former customer of Grease Monkey and had a few positive experiences. However, on more than two occasions upon arriving and parking my car awaiting to be greeted, I found myself sitting there for over ten minutes with no one acknowledging that I was there. If you have a designated spot for customers to park in (which I even confirmed with them to make sure I was in the right place) why does it take ages for you to simply acknowledge that I'm here? This is not the first, nor second time this has happened to me, but the third time it occurred this past week. I sat in my car, minutes ticking by, and I could see in my rear view mirror that clearly they knew I was there to have my vehicle serviced. To add insult to injury, another customer came after me and pulled up close to the door. They decided to acknowledge his existence and STILL did not walk over to my car. At that point, I turned off my car, scheduled an appointment at Mr.Tire, and pulled off. On top of that, the gentleman (Pat is his name, I believe) is unnecessarily rude when answering the phone. On the same day this last incident occurred, I called and politely asked if they were busy at the moment. He proceeds to say, "Well, it changes every three minutes..." And this is also not the first time I've had to deal with his attitude. He's a smart ass for absolutely no reason and I refuse to spend money at an establishment that is okay with speaking to people in this manner, without warrant. In short, I won't be back. That last incident sealed the deal for me. I'll be patronizing businesses with more professional staff. read more

I've been in a few times and every time they have been rude and extremely unhelpful. They claim they did a tire rotation, but when I looked after none of the titles were changed. I asked and they doubled down, I then explained that the tire lock was not in the car and so they would not even be able to remove the tires without it...they apologized but only after lying multiple times. My husband took our car here right before our vacation for an oil change and tire rotation. The grease stains left on our seats were the least of our worries. During our drive to NC, we started hearing a strange noise coming from the back right. We pulled over and noticed a lug nut was missing, another was about to fall off and the remaining ones were all loose. Our tire could have broken off at any moment, risking our lives and the lives of everyone driving around us. Not to mention all the bridges we had to drive over on the way to our destination with no pull off areas. We are furious over this lack of care. The prices for the services were on average much lower than others that I got a quote from. But I got an oil change and once all the taxes and fees were added in it was way more than they quoted me. For oil changes, brakes, and tire rotations, this is the go to place in the north end. They meet you out at your car when you pull up and check your tires, wipers, etc. The prices are listed so you have no surprises at checkout. Before your car is released, they have an employee do a safety inspection on it...that's his only job, so they do care about quality and not just quantity of cars going in and out of the garage. A big reason i didn't rate them a higher score was because I had a particular experience that turned me away from them: I went for new brakes and told them I had a small coolant leak, they told me it was the water pump but they did not offer service for this type of car maintaince. I went to the dealership and they told me the water pump was fine, it was the radiator that had a big crack in it. I looked for myself and ruled out the water pump as well...it was the radiator. Again, grease monkey doesn't offer more extensive work like this so it may be a little unfair to judge them on it, but it was an obvious crack in the radiator and most mechanics should know a difference in both. Check for coupons in the paper and valupack for oil change and tire rotation, they send them out regularly. read more

I was in need of a new oil change place and I decided to give this place a try. I had seen their advertisements on TV and it is close to home so I thought why not. I was impressed. The people all were very nice and the work was done quickly and professionally. They had a very nice, clean, and bright waiting area. My only complaint, and this is very minor, was that the waiting area was a little too warm. On July 10th, 2017, I took my Jeep Liberty to Grease Monkey for an oil change and tire rotation. On August 31, 2017, while driving on I-81 South, I had the pleasure of my drivers side front tire coming off while traveling 65mph! !!!!!! OH WHAT FUN. !!!!! It scared the hell out of me.!!!!! I called Pat, the owner?, he informed me , ( For liability reasons of course ), I was supposed to bring my vehicle back in to have the lug nuts tightened and torqued. Who knew? Not me!!!!!! I was informed that there is a sign posted and on my invoice it states this. The average person is not going to sit and read signs that are plastered all over the place or read an invoice. Most people have their eyes glued to their phone! !!!! I am a 48 year old female and have owned many other cars and never have had anyone tell me this information. If its something that could cause someone to lose their life this information should be told to you directly before leaving the shop! !!!!!! Obviously whoever rotated my tires that day did not do their job correctly! !!!!!!! My friend had her car serviced at Sams Club recently and they told her this before she left. Do not get any service work done at this location. I did twice and the work was not done correctly. the first time I had front pads installed on my 99 Olds Alero and they did not install the anti rattle clips after taking it back to get corrected I was told that they though that they could get away without installing them. I did understand that because I have done that before. But they charged me the same amount (over $200.00) to install the clips so a simple brake job cost over $400.00 This year one of my belts broke and they were the nearest auto service location it took over 4 hours to replace two belts (I tried to tell them that the belts were just replaced 8 months ago) after they replaced the belts I started to get a squealing noise. The next day i took the car back and was told by the owner it was the Idler Pulley I told Pat I had that replaced in October also. He told me that he could have it checked the next day but it would cost $45.00 to see where the noise was coming from and they will spray the pulley with WD40 and if the sound would go away it's the pulley. I went to the mechanic that did the original repairs and he told me that he had the same issue and had to call the Chrysler Dealership parts department. The fix was to use OEM belts read more

Worst service I've ever had. The day after I got my oil changed and check up I noticed that the coolant was low. When I took the car back, the owner TOOK THE RADIATOR CAP OFF WHILE THE CAR WAS HOT AND RUNNING. Of course, hot antifreeze sprayed everywhere. He quickly recapped it and filled my coolant back up. However, he did not take the time to bleed the radiator lines of air which ruined my thermostat and caused my car to overheat. I called them to ask about it and was greeted with an attitude and excuses. Over the phone the owner even tried to deny the antifreeze spill, even tho I was standing right there when it happened. If I hadn't noticed what he was doing and stepped out of the way, I definitely would have been burned. Very unprofessional. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. read more

My family had been going to you for a long time and always had a good experience but the last time I went was bad and then my daughter went and it was terrible. For me, as usual they are always asking about your tires looking for another way to make money off of you (which is fine), so they changed my oil and then even showed me some new technology they were using to show me how good/bad my tread on my tires was. I also went there because my sensor was showing low air in at least one of my tires. I was greatly disappointed to get back in my truck after the "full service" oil change was completed and my sensor was still on. I went down the road to put air in my tires and noticed a bolt in the tread of one of my tires and a screw in another one. REALLY? They went to all of this trouble to try and make me buy new tires and never even inspected them, nor did they do the full service which includes putting air in your tires. They actually may have had a sale if they would have looked a bit. Not to mention they didn't vacuum out my interior. I'm sure they would say that was due to COVID but I don't care about that. If they would have given me the option I would have told them to vacuum it and I'll take my chances. Two weeks later my daughter went there and they talked her into, in my opinion, an unnecessary full synthetic oil change on a vehicle with 32,000 miles on it and they convinced her to rotate her tires. She had a $10 coupon and her bill was still over $125!! They NEVER told her what the total was going to be until she was checking out. She and I were both furious and when she called West End Sunoco (where we take everything to be worked on), they said they would have done everything for about $80. With that, my family and our five cars will definitely not be going back to Grease Monkey. We never had them do any other service but oil changes because I thought their prices were outrageous but now, after not looking out for what was best for us, we will be going elsewhere. This place is fantastic!! I was on my way back to Connecticut from Tennessee and stopped in for an oil change. Two days before Thanksgiving, I thought sure I would have a long wait which would put me behind schedule but they got me in right away! Mark and Pat were very friendly and Pat showed me that even though all the service done on my car was done in different states, they could pull up all that information on the carfax app so they could review the history themselves.
